Worth it on a huge sale, this game is in no way shape or form a $70 game, but for $20 it's worth it to a casual Star Wars / Ubisoft fan or $30 for a hardcore fan. This game has its issues, despite the budget, and the huge studio behind it, it has its issues. But I'm a Star Wars mega fan and I like to give everything a try and form my own opinions. The GOOD - The worldbuilding is insane, next level and genuinely incomparable to any other modern Star Wars game. Absolutely stunning, even down to the finest detail it's worth it alone for a megafan to just be able to listen in on conversations across multiple planets of all the different species. Graphically/visually this game is so beautiful, the planets, the space combat, the characters big and small. Notable locations include: Jabba's Palace, Mos Eisley and pretty much the entirety of Tatooine. Akiva is a beautiful planet despite the near constant rainfall and Toshara also has some beautiful scenery and locations. - The story is fun and unique to Star Wars, the concept might not be super unique but its not something I've seen before, there's four syndicates that all require attention and all do not like each other so you have to do jobs which often pin two syndicates together, making it difficult to be in the good graces of multiple syndicates at one time. But it's a fun concept. After completing the game and the DLC, the story is definitely the best thing about the game. I could see some not enjoying it but I did think it was a nice addition to the Star Wars universe. I could nitpick it, but it was good. Don't expect Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor level though. - Sabaac, A unique, space poker (not really, I don't know if there is a real life game similar to it), I think this game does it better than any other in game card games, like Fallout New Vegas didn't create a card game nearly as fun as this. It's a simple concept but this to me doesn't get stale, the rewards are good and it's just the right amount of virtual gambling to satisfy my needs. THE NOT SO GOOD - Some stuff just throws me off a bit but not enough to stop playing, such as the takedown system, I feel like I just ignore it after so long but as others have pointed out, it's a little hard to believe that you can just knock out stormtroopers in full armor with one punch, and you have to do it consistently if you don't want to be Rambo the entire game. Not unbearable, but it isn't great. - On each planet you can sit down at a street vendor, pay a measly 200 credits and eat a meal that can become a permanent buff to your companion Nix (only one at a time though, it doesn't stack). Which is cool, except it utilizes Quick Time Events. It feels kinda out of place and I feel as if I understand the concept, like they're trying to be cute but I found them to be annoying and out of place. Again not unbearable but everytime I just questioned why this was greenlit. They take way too long imo. THE BAD - Glitches, none too game breaking but with a budget this size and again made by a not so indie developer, and now it's been what, a year since the game released? It still has glitches/bugs. I haven't seen any incredibly major ones but I have had my character get stuck in a wall or get stuck while dismounting the speeder, or when walking by objects I've kicked one and it spazzes out and multiple items go flying everywhere. Again this isn't major but it does take away from the overall aesthetic as it doesn't happen in most games I've played. - Ubisoft repetitiveness. I can't see any casual gamer wanting to get anywhere near 100% completion. Like the last few Ubisoft titles I've tried, I get to a point, maybe 15-20 hours in where it just becomes incredibly monotonous and boring. Rinse and repeat and it makes you want to just streamline the main story or quit entirely. I again am a Star Wars megafan so I will go for most if not all achievements and find everything this game has to offer, I do wanna say I am enjoying it still at 40 hours, but I have spent 10+ hours at this point avoiding the main storyline (I think it's the final mission) so that I can do nonstop side missions and exploring/ achievement hunting etc. - The price.... how in the world they could justify a $70 base and a $130 max is beyond criminal. Compare this to games like Star Wars Jedi Survivor and it doesn't hold a candle to it, there are major differences and this game comes out on top when it comes to free roaming and just enjoying the worlds, but that shouldn't justify the price difference. Like previously stated I got this on a deal, I didn't even remember buying the top version and I'm sure it's mostly cosmetics and such as there's no DLC (extra missions, unless I'm mistaken), so it doesn't really seem worth it to spend more then the base price. THE DLC - Hondo Ohnaka was a great character in the Clone Wars and his character was portrayed very well in this DLC. However that's probably the only good thing I'd have to say about the DLC. The new world was enjoyable but arguably my least favorite and shortest compared to the planets in the base game. This added a few extra hours but wasn't very long. Overall the DLC doesn't seem like it would be worth the additional purchase, unless like previously mentioned there is a huge discount and you're a big Star Wars fan. I wish I could write more but it was generally lackluster. IN SUMMARY - I went into this with little to no expectations, I had heard mostly negative reviews, but I enjoyed it. The story isn't bad, the worldbuilding is beautifully insane and worth buying this on sale alone. If you've played other Ubisoft titles and have gotten burnt out from their repetitiveness, you might feel the same on this one, but if you're a huge Star Wars fan, maybe put up with some of the crap in this game and enjoy exploring some new and old planets and an interesting storyline , or don't who am I but a random reviewer.

DO NOT BUY Even after a year this game is still extremely buggy. Almost unplayable. Within the first 30 minutes of the game (the mission directly after the beginning area mission) I ran into a game ending bug causing me to restart the entire game. Another bug i've ran into is whenever i reload previous saves, my reputation will inexplicably decrease with a certain faction for no reason. This bug has happened to me multiple times. Furthermore, people advertise this game as the "GTA of star wars." It couldn't be farther from that. Your character is a socially awkward, PG criminal that can do no wrong even in the underworld of star wars. She stammers her way through the underworld with no social tact or strategy. Also, You work with the hutts, pykes, and crimson dawn except you are somehow always on the morally right side. There are no evil options in a game about the criminal underworld of Star Wars. What?! This game is extremely funneled into a good-guy play through and only that. I feel this game tries to be similar to Jedi Fallen Order except without lightsabers and the force but with blasters and syndicates. It feels almost identical to the fallen order with puzzles, parkour, and massive open world except it has no substance to be its own game. Like a cheap knock off without any thought to the its own characters or story. The main character should be more confident (similar to Han Solo since ive heard she is supposed to be based off of him) and the gameplay should allow you to be more aggressive. To sum up, the bugs make this game unplayable. the character is too nice and needs to be more confident and aggressive (I'd prefer to have evil options), and (obviously) Disney seems to not want to deviate from their safe zone. Disney keeps their games very similar to past successes such as Fallen Order taking only limited risks as to hopefully turn a profit. So at the end of the day this game turned out to be a lukewarm trash heap of a clone when it could've been so much more.

The game is solid. The story is a lot of fun. Definite sleeper game, doesn't deserve much hate. Reason for a negative review? NO AUTOMATIC CLOUD SAVES (thanks to Ubisoft Connect). 70 hours, 100% achievement completion. New DLC comes out, I go to re-download the game, and find that my save files are all gone. This is a Ubisoft Connect issue, not a Steam one. Apparently, you have to manually push your save files into the cloud in the game. Unlike every other game you play on Steam, this one doesn't do that thanks to Ubisoft's BRILLIANT system. So now, I'm going to re-uninstall the game and ignore the DLC, and hope that any of you poor souls can avoid the same issue I am. If you upgrade to Windows 11 and didn't manually upload your save files to the cloud... byeeeeeeeee. Really dumb, really unfortunate. Solid game, really wish Ubisoft just STOPPED trying to have their own launcher because it will never hold a candle to Steam's user-friendliness.

The patches as of 12/1/25, DLC, etc. fixed many of the games launch problems. But it can't fix the story and hasn't yet fixed the AI. It's 'fixed' the game by making stealth useless. Kay Vess is a psychopathic murderer of hundreds (thousands?) of people, not an outlaw. But at least she got a new jacket. Some of the landscapes are good, most of the quests are repetitive or bad and the story is bad and can't fit into star wars cannon. They were too cowardly to set this game after Episode 6 when the world is wide open after the fall of the empire to get in their cameos and the game and your sanity suffers for it. Don't buy/play/believe anyone who says this game is fixed or is good. They are lying.

Think twice before buying This game almost killed my love for Star Wars. But first of all, I want to stress that UBISOFT ARE LIARS. When you buy the Ultimate Edition, you will not get all the DLC in your Steam library, even though you should. Instead, after two months of correspondence, Ubisoft support told me to “just buy them again” so they would appear in my account. So keep that in mind. Now about the game: I don’t understand why this droid is on every poster. You probably think, just like I did, that you will be playing alongside him. No! He will be sitting on the ship 98% of the time. And even when he does come outside, he will do absolutely nothing. The story. It exists, but at the same time it doesn’t. The game is built around treasure hunting, but you won’t find a single one! I spent 90 hours finishing this game (and collecting everything), and in the end I got nothing. No treasures, no wealth that the main character was searching for. Even the second DLC, which was supposed to lead us to treasures, didn’t. The story seemed close to it, we were in ancient ruins, but in the end you just have to run away, WITHOUT GETTING ANYTHING! Oh wait, no — you do get something: a line from the droid saying that “the real treasure is friends.” To sum up, the only positive thing I can say about this game is the beautiful landscapes. That’s it. This is not Star Wars. This is something else entirely. P.S. Also, the game has NO New Game+. Which means all the clothes, all the ship, blaster, and speeder upgrades you collected throughout the game (mostly near the end) simply disappear and have no practical use for a second playthrough. On top of that, the achievements are broken. If you didn’t perform a certain action “on time” during some quests, you simply won’t be able to complete it after finishing the game. Even though the logic of the game allows you to start it — and it does start — the buttons to pick up the weapon just don’t appear. As a result, to get one achievement, you need to replay the entire game.

After spending around 26 hours with the game I can’t say I enjoyed the experience. I really disliked the core gameplay mechanics and the main character’s movement and physics. Combat, shooting and general character control feel very repetitive and low quality, with almost the same animations and actions used over and over again. Nothing felt fresh or innovative. The world feels empty and lifeless. I had no real motivation to explore the environment or complete side quests, as everything felt dull and unengaging. Mission design relies heavily on puzzles and there are simply too many of them. They quickly become tedious, boring, and exhausting, to the point where I just wanted everything to end as soon as possible. The graphics are good, and performance/stability is relatively okay, which are the game’s main positives. However, the story was not interesting for me at all. I would rate it 5 out of 10. The missions were so uninteresting that I rushed through the story just to see the ending. Overall, despite decent visuals and acceptable performance the repetitive gameplay, lifeless world and boring mission structure made this a disappointing experience for me... I’m honestly disappointed :(((( especially considering the price I paid for this game. In my opinion it is absolutely not worth the asking price and does not justify its cost in terms of content, quality, or overall enjoyment.

Please heavily reconsider if you're buying this game, even at a steep discount. I've been eyeing this game for a while because, well, Star Wars. I've loved just about every Star Wars universe game that I've played across various consoles and over the years. I was really excited for this one! It seemed right up my alley. The story looked good, the combat seemed fun, I loved the idea of it. Long story short, I purchased it when it was 55% off for the ultimate edition. I haven't even been able to get to any of the DLCs or progress past the first chapter. I've spent 3 hours in this game, mind you, and only about twenty to thirty minutes of that was me actually being able to play the game. It took forty-five minutes and threw restarts to get the game to load the first time around. The landscape doesn't load properly. When it does, and you're walking around, you fall randomly through the floor, and it'll take another fifteen minutes just to get the game to load again. Dialogue and action prompts will randomly disappear - so good luck progressing. I told myself I would just suffer through it. Messed around with graphics settings and turned everything down to the lowest setting. I have a really good graphics card and a brand new motherboard. I've moved the game to a SSD instead of my larger external hard drive. I've updated drivers and checked and rechecked compatibility settings. Nothing helps. Seriously, don't waste your time. (I haven't even touched on how much I hate that you need to run it through Ubisoft's launcher that crashes all the time and you need an account through them to even play the game.)

Star Wars Outlaws is a mess. It was a mess at launch and it’s still a mess. Despite being a huge Star Wars fan I didn’t buy the game upon release because it was clear that it wasn’t ready for primetime. It’s still not where it needs to be. Let me explain… The game was marketed as an open world stealth game. Originally, if you were discovered the game would reload the checkpoint with no way of salvaging a bad situation. Post numerous patches, upon discovery you can now shoot your way out of trouble. The problem for me is that the gameplay loop isn’t very good. In fact, it’s barely adequate. You can approach enemies from behind and punch them in the side of their helmeted heads with your bare fist and one-shot knock them out. Everytime, and without breaking your hand. It’s immersion breaking. Why didn’t the developers give Kay a stun stick, a weapon in the Star Wars universe perfectly suited to the gameplay? Kay herself is a likeable protagonist with questionable 1980’s mum hair. It really is quite hideous. Unforfortunately while we can change her wardrobe, ship, speeder, and weapons, we cannot change her hair. Upon rendering a foe unconscious you cannot pick up the body and drag it into cover. You’re forced to leave it there in the open, risking detection. This is frankly unbelievable. Hiding unconscious bodies in stealth games goes back decades, it’s a basic staple of the genre. Somewhere along the way, Ubisoft, the creators of the greatest Stealth game ever made (Splinter Cell Chaos Theory) forgot how to make a stealth game. Another example of poor stealth gameplay is the pistol Kay is forced to rely upon and upgrade if she’s to survive in a harsh galaxy. It has a stun setting. Unfortunately Kay’s stun pistol doesn’t work like any stun weapon you’ve ever ever seen in a Star Wars movie, game, or television show. This one can only fire a single shot before requiring an inordinate amount of time to recharge. And you can’t upgrade it. While you can certainly crouch behind cover you can’t hug it or pear around corners or over walls. It’s all very basic stuff. When you’re detected by an enemy, (and you will be detected by enemies) and the inevitable shootout commences your puny pistol will be found wanting. But fear not, if you play for many hours in this frustrating manner you’ll eventually be able to upgrade it into something half useful — just in time for the credits to roll (if you’re not into grind and you elected to stick to the premium tier storyline. Side tangent: What is it with modern AAA games that hold back the fun until you’re many hours deep into the game? Why make the player frustrated with their lack of abilities and equipment when you could let them enjoy the game they bought immediately? Star Wars Outlaws makes matters even worse by neglecting to offer a New Game Plus mode. So if you want to reexperience the story again some day you have to do it without your upgrades. Of course, you can pick up weapons from fallen foes but for some reason they all have barely any charge to them. Meaning, just as you start to enjoy yourself the Ubisoft fun police will show up again and take it away from you. Time to look for another blaster you naughty rapscallion! There’s a rhythm based hacking mini game that allows you to access locked doors, storage chests, and computer terminals. It isn’t very fun and quickly becomes tedious. My recommendation is to turn off this mini game in the accessibility settings. Being a scoundrel you’ll naturally come into contact with the scum of the galaxy and will need to balance a reputation system with the various criminal syndicates. Unfortunately there isn’t any long term consequences for your actions. Steal from a Hutt, shoot up his palace, and leave the seat up in his refresher? No problem, just do a few jobs for his majordomo and all will be forgiven. At the time of this review I’ve played 38 hours of Star Wars Outlaws. In that time I have completed the primary quest line, all the expert quest lines, and a smattering of other miscellaneous bits and bobs as well. Yet bizarrely, my co-pilot keeps talking about a heist as if it’s still in my future when I dealt with it hours ago in the main story. That’s just one of numerous bugs I’ve had to deal with in this half-baked game. The game refuses to save my graphical settings. I contacted Ubisoft support and followed their advice but the issue continues to plague me. Using the speeder gives me massive headaches. It can be resolved by toggling off various settings in the graphics menu but I have to do that on every boot because the game refuses to save my preferences. Then there are the crashes, and on occasion, scenes won’t trigger. I’ve had to read Reddit threads on multiple occasions to find ways to progress the story and jog the game into working. Sometimes I’ll call my speeder and it will fly past me and into a tree, rock, or some other piece of the environment. Let’s talk about the graphics for a moment. Character bodies, ships, weapons, and environments look very good. The faces do not. NPC’s look like they were designed for the PS3 era. It’s shockingly bad. Bumbling about on Tatooine was a personal highlight of mine. The level of detail and authenticity on show is truly incredible. Unfortunately the other worlds on offer, while looking very good, don’t elicit the same level of joy, wonder, and nostalgia. One of them is from The Last Jedi. It makes sense for the story, but why on earth bring up those unhappy memories? Another is from a disastrous Disney era novel that was so bad it became a literary meme. (The writer was fired by Disney after arguing with fans on social media and behaving in a very unprofessional manner) Enemies tend to respawn as well. Something you will do often is infiltrate an enemy base. You’ll work your way stealthily around the compound, taking out the guards as you go. You’ll reach your desired objective but you’ll realise that you need a keycard to bypass the door. You backtrack through the compound but now those guards you disabled moments ago are now back at their post and they haven’t even raised an alarm. Other than being incredibly immersion breaking it’s annoying. What if I want to collect all the treasures on the base? Why can’t the game keep your actions in memory at least until you’ve left the base? Performance has been very good for me but then it should be, I have a very capable PC. I’ve been playing with all graphical settings maxed out on Ultra, 4K thanks to DLSS upscaling set to ‘Quality’ and frame gen x2 enabled. Great stuff. Unfortunately Ubisoft couldn’t be bothered to officially support the Steam Deck. And why oh why do I have to read a health warning EVERY SINGLE TIME I BOOT THE GAME?! I can’t skip it or check a box that says I acknowledge the risks and move on with my life. No, I have to endure that wall of text every time I sit down to play the game. Another thing to note: Ubisoft Connect is present in this game, and as expected, slows down loading times considerably while offering nothing of value. And why doesn’t it full screen? Silly little box that isn’t even centered. In the year of our Lord, 2026 this is ridiculous. At least their egregious launcher remembers my password, something many of their other games do not. I will say this in the game’s defence though: the characters and story are very good, and despite the less than exciting worlds to visit the game does offer plenty of authentic Star Wars feels. What this game needs is a Cyberpunk 2.0 level redesign. The underlying game is very good, but the gameplay needs reworking. Here are my top 5 fixes that are desperately needed: Add the ability to hide bodies Implement true, modern, cover-based mechanics Speed up the recharge of the stun setting on the pistol (or at least allow the purchase of alternative stealth weaponry) Keep player actions in memory while in enemy bases Provide more stealth-based attacks and equipment 6/10

I REALLY like this game. I like the characters and the stealthy playstyle, but I simply CANNOT recommend this game. After a while, the side missions become repetitive, and the open world feels very empty. Unfortunately, having a bad relationship with certain syndicates has absolutely no impact on the main story—people from those syndicates treat you the same way whether you have an excellent reputation with them or when they’re literally sending kill squads after you. The cherry on top is that there’s been a bug in the mission "The Droidsmith" for two years now that prevents you from completing the main story, you literally cannot finish the game without using another bug to get around the problem. This bug has existed for TWO YEARS NOW!!! So no, I don't think the game is worth the full price, nor do I think it's worth buying on sale. I mean, it’s fun, but that’s about it. I simply can't recommend a game that is so poorly optimized and leaves in a bug that prevents you from finishing the game.

I got the game 75% off. And for that price it's decent. I've experienced two crashed so far, not the most stable game. But 130 EUR for the the ultimate edition is rip off, I mean seriously!?? Don't let Ubisoft steal your money, I'm pretty sure they would be able to make decent money selling it for half that. - It's just greed. Pros: - Story is good, seem engaging for the get go. There is some cute easy digestible emotions, between Nix and Kay. I like the twist of being able to be an outlaw, in an otherwise black and white Star Wars universe that is usually just good vs evil/dark side. It create a grey middle line, there haven't been explored enough in the franchise, and add contrast. - The game is beautiful, and the action sequences are cinematic and well made. - Feels like a Star Wars movie. Cons: - The game is way too easy. I usually suck at stealth based games, but even I find it laughable at times. - The NPCs are blind as a bat, and have the intelligence equivalent of a house fly trying to fly out of an open window. - The combat is shallow and lackluster, and feels generic. Using the blaster doesn't feel textile and have no kinetic feedback. And you can only use other weapons temporarily when picked up. - The open world mostly feel empty, not many POI's. - Stealth is not satisfying for a stealth focused game. - It crashes (big minus). Since I have more cones than pros, I'll give it a negative review. Do never pay full price for this game! Goes for most Ubisoft games imo. Play it for the story, and if you really like Star Wars, but don't expect much else.

I actually started enjoying the game, despite the usual Ubisoft filler quests, clunky interface etc... The game is good looking and the story is bland, but fine -its great to immerse yourself exploring a planet or playing Sabacc. However, with the recent updates, there is crash to desktop every 5 minutes. And yes, I have done all of the things, like turning off antivirus, overlays, Nvidia ray tracing etc. Fix the game - its unplayable for me right now, and lots of others by the looks of the forums. Its also the Nvidia drivers update that may have broken it, but you know what, other games work fine with them, where as yours doesnt UBISOFT - so fix it. Right now forced to uninstall, and may be come back to it some other time. Cannot recomend I am afraid.

Maybe its because I'm older now but some of these new games are starting to feel like chores. Its so repetitive, it feels like no one actually put any effort into the game. Steer clear, its not worth your money. Unless of course you want to play the same stealth mission 50 times to get through a story that is below average and extremely unoriginal.

As I am a older gamer, there is one thing I have learned that these developers and publishers should have learned over the years, " Patience". This is now the 3rd Star Wars Ubisoft/ EA games where I knew to wait about a year before purchasing this game because they released it without spending time ironing out the Bugs. This is a great Star Wars game , just like the previous 2 EA Star Wars Games before it, spoiled by releasing the game to early, instead of make the game more stable with less bug's. Outlaws captures the Star Wars universe "fantastically", a year or 2 from when it was released. And that is where the problem exists, I should be buying this game at full price at release. Not to know to wait a year or 2 to buy this Great Game at 1/2 Price. I read where reviewers bagged " Kay " for being dumb and doing stupid things. The reality is that is the character I expected , and thoroughly enjoyed. Kay is a orphaned girl in a cold universe with no education and skills she learned to do as a child from her abandoned mother and having to survive. She was not meant to be a James Bond agent, nor should she be expected to be. I Highly Recommend this game if you grew up watching Star Wars movies. And if you have'nt played the previous 2 Star Wars games, recommended also. Ubisoft, please take this positively if you read my review. Great game again, mawed by releasing it early instead of ironing out the Game's bugs issue's. Story and Characters are engaging and what I would expect. AAA game once again ruined by Early Release. I will by you next Star Wars instalment, it will be how much I will be paying, Full price or 1/2 price , so far it's always been the later.

NOTE: If the game is crashing for you, try the following fixes listed here. Turn on V-Sync, Turn off DLSS in the game, Make sure all steam UI notifications are turned off, as well as Windows 11 OS notifications are turned off. Ive tested this myself and correlated when a notification is on steam UI or Windows 11 OS, it causes the game to crash. Happened to me twice at same time a notification popped up on both things. Also, turn on borderless window mode if it allows it. Hello Friends, Today I will be reviewing the game Star Wars Outlaws. This is a game about a female criminal that makes her way in the star wars universe. She has a pet she takes and has trained in the art of thievery and distraction. Players will visit many worlds and locations to do quests and side quests. Also, it suffers from Ubisoft open world fatigue. If players are tired of open world games, they may want to pass on this game and move on to other games. This game takes place in the star wars universe after The empire Strikes Back, right when the empire is at it's strongest. The game's stories are ok, but not great. Most of the time, players will be working for a crime syndicate to increase their reputation. If players fully max out reputation, they get special rewards from crime syndicates. My suggestion is to get the story DLC stuff, as the added quests are great and add to the game lore overall. The pirates treasure dlc even adds a whole new world location to explore. As for the cosmetic DLC's, they only add cosmetics to the characters in the game. It is up to the player if they want to buy them or not, but i suggest personally to get wild card dlc and a pirates fortune dlc as they add more story. The mechanics in the game are very similiar to other Ubisoft games. There is nothing groundbreaking in the game. Most of the quests tend to be fetch quests or go to location and kill XXX. Most are found in many rpg's that people have played, so the quests will be very similar to people who play alot of rpgs. One thing players will want to do is the masters quests, as they open up abilities and skills when you finish them. Players can find them under the quests in the menu under expert intel. Anyways, here are my Pros and Cons: PROS: - Gorgeous world locations - Many tie in's to the Star Wars Universe, including even maybe cameo's of characters. - Seeing the Star Wars Universe from the criminal angle. Doing dirty jobs, stealing, robbing, smuggling, killing syndicate members. - Visiting different worlds. - Many side quests known as intel tips. - Masters who teach you different abilities and skills. - Lots of cosmetics to put on your character and pet. - Upgradeable vehicles. - Players can pet animals, and even have their own animal they can pet. Banthas can be petted on Tatooine - Visit locations from the star wars movies. See where han solo shot greedo. See rebels fighting the empire. Gamble on Fathiers, as seen in movies. - Stealth missions and other activities to do. CONS: - Some crashing can and may occur in players games. Please see my note above. After I personally did the above fixes, my game stop crashing at all. This fix may not work with all people due to different PC configurations and builds and different OS types. Many people have complained about the crashing in this game. I found most Ubisoft games have some kind of crashing. You usually have to mess with your settings to prevent them or at least lower the amount of them you get. That is why i posted the note above. This may or may not help you with your crashing in your game. - No manual flashlight. This is my main complaint. Alot of the places you go are very dark, even when you turn brightness up. There is a flashlight in the game, but it is automatic. I would of preferred a manual one to turn it on and off when i want to. This automatic light does not always turn on in every dark location. This is definetly needed. - Non-sellable clothing. Players will find lots of clothing in the game. Some normal, some higher class ones. I personally would like to clean out the closet with all the useless clothing once you get all superior clothing. It makes the closest so much with clothing, at least i would of liked the option. - This game requires Ubisoft Connect to be installed on your PC and a account with Ubisoft Connect. Not everyone likes this. This is why it is posted in con's. In fact some people boycott Ubisoft due to having to install this game loader on their pc. Do i recommend the game? If you like open world game made by Ubisoft, sure. If not a fan of open world games from Ubisoft, skip it. The star wars universe also has some interesting tie in's to the movies. Considering the timeline when this game takes places is after the events of the empire strikes back, shows the empire is at it's strongest. Their influence will be seen across all the worlds the player visits. Players may even find familiar faces and places when exploring the universe. The game can be fun, but the crashing does take some of the fun away. After i did the above fixes i mentioned in my note at the top of this review, the game stopped crashing for me. I even played it 4 hours without one crash at all.

I put many hours into the game, I know I'm also not close to ending the campaign. The gameplay is OK when it works. I reached a point where the game wouldn't let me continue. By that, I mean I have to get past a turret by hanging from a box I tell Nyx to flip the switch to move. When I flip the switch, the box doesn't move back. I flip it again and the box resets and doesn't let me progress. I watched gameplay videos & it works flawless for them. I don't care about the characters, even after I met a particular character from the main films. They're flat, emotionless and don't give me much of a reason to care.

Ok so, wow, after actually finishing it I have to say, this game might be the one of the most unfairly maligned AAA games in recent memory. I'm not going to defend the horrendous DLC model but the base game is quality. I mean, yeah, sure, I and a lot of other people saw the goofy stealth knockout animations, and they still probably should have given her an electro gauntlet or something, but the game is so much more than that. It's totally fair to say you're sick of ubisoft style open world games, I certainly bailed on Horizon: Forbidden West pretty quickly, so I certainly get it, but if I'm being real this might be one of the better open world games out there. The worlds are very well designed, with lots of secrets to discover and a good intel system to point you in the right directions organically. The ability upgrade system is a lot better than a lot of other skill trees too, I'll tell you that much. Having you do challenges, many of which you can get just playing normally, as well as collecting parts to upgrade your gear and vehicles. It all adds up pretty well. The story actually hits pretty hard for what it is too. Very worthy of the star wars name, and not overly reliant on cameos or glup ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I won't call it perfect, clearly, it crashed a few times, and I would have liked to get a little more quality out of my 3080ti on it, but it was if nothing else stable and playable on dlss performance mode. But yeah, real talk, the internet got this one wrong badly. If you're interested in a star wars open world game, this is extremely it.

Massively underrated/overhated. If you haven't played this game due to the discourse around it, you're missing out one of the best modern Star Wars games. The atmosphere and visuals of each of the 4 main planets is incredible. The sound design is great, speeders and ships feel fast and fun to drive/fly, and the combat is pretty satisfying once you are able to pick up enemy blasters. The only things holding the game back is the slightly repetitive mission design, and the (at times) lacklustre plot/writing. As is the case with a lot of Ubisoft titles, missions mostly boil down to sneaking around, doing some simple puzzles/parkour, and then blasting your way out. The DLCs were okay, but nothing to write home about, with 'Wild Card' being the more memorable of the two. It feels like the game had a lot of potential for future DLC or sequels, but I think either of those are very unlikely. I know the game had it's fair share of bugs at launch which contributed to the mixed reception (most of which have now been fixed), but it's such a shame that so many couldn't get over the female protagonist with slightly cheesy dialogue. Cheesy/bad dialogue has been a part of Star Wars since 1977. Yeah the game isn't perfect, but it's easily a 7/8 out of 10 and anyone who has ever wanted an open-world Star Wars game would be doing themselves a disservice by not giving it a go. The truth is, if Kay Vess was swapped for an edgy male bounty hunter/Mandalorian, everyone would be saying this is one of the best Star Wars game of the last 20 years, and I find that sad. Try the demo or wait for a sale. Also I love Nix.

Pros: The worlds are big but not so big that every planet feels like a slog. There is also enough variety in the flora, fauna, and terrain that every one feels distinct and novel. Graphics are great even at medium settings and after playing a while I turned the settings up realizing that I wasn't pushing my system all that hard but I would still have to say the game engine optimization is good. Quite a few of the decisions feel like they have a real impact in your relationships with the syndicates. Taking place between Empire and Jedi there are quite a few Easter Eggs tied to the original movie trilogy and some of the expanded universe stuff (comics, books, other games, Legends material) so that is always nice to see. Also it pays to listen to the conversations around you, especially by Imperials, for more Star Wars Easter Eggs. Fighting Death Troopers is always an iffy proposition especially early on-not impossible but very challenging. KD and Nix are great supporting characters and help flesh out Kay's emotional journey. Combat, sneaking, and space combat are fun and well balanced for the most part. The characters, settings, and music definitely feel like classic Star Wars. Cons: While a few of the decisions feel like they have a real impact by the time you reach the final phase of the original game it kind of feels like nothing you did mattered one way or the other. It's too easy to max out the relationship with all the syndicates and I think you have to really work at it to consistently stay on a syndicate's bad side. While there is a decent replay factor after a while randomly generated events get repetitive and seem to trigger in the same spot (or three). The lack of true smuggling missions is a shame as it's too easy to dodge or zoom past Imperial patrols. Having to smuggle goods between planets and NOT get involved in firefights would have been an interesting element. Overall I would recommend this game if you're looking a fun romp in the Star Wars universe and it's seedier side. A definite buy if you can grab it and the DLCs on sale and it's structured that in 30 minutes of play you can knock out an objective or two. System: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X Gigabyte RX 9060 XT 16GB 32GB DDR5 6000 WD Black SSD M.2 2280 2TB PCIe 4

I just passed the 40 hour mark. Here are my 1st impressions: Graphics: Environments and effects are top notch at all Ultra settings. I get 240-270 fps most of the time and gameplay is smooth with very short load times on fast travel (blink and miss it). Some people are upset at the pixel bleed and deliberate blur on Kay's hair, but pretty sure this is a design choice to make her hair seem full of body and reactive to wind. Wildlife isn't terribly creative so far and I'm not thrilled with my starship, but that's a style choice and it is done well. Maybe later on things will get more creative? Environments are gorgeous. 9 of 10 Gameplay: This is a slow burn game. From reading negative reviews, I think some people play for 10 or 20 hours and think, This is it? Truth is, Kay starts as a noisy thief, a poor shot, and has loan-me-down equipment. The game allows one to immediately grind upgrades, but this is a player trap. Follow the main story line and unlock the 1st 3 mentors. each one of them offers several abilities and ability upgrades that change the game greatly. You can become a ghost, an assassin, even a militant merc. The missions and puzzles get more exciting as you unlock these too. It looks like there are 5 more mentors, so I'm hopeful the game continues to grow. The space game seems very 2 dimensional at first. Then I got a corvette mission. Looks like I've yet to see the full gameplay offered. I'll give it 8 out of 10; fun once the ball gets rolling, but like other 'open world' games, it can feel repetitive if your only game on rotation. Story: So far so great! Kay is not a hard boiled badass. She is fun, sweet, and good natured; a scruffy nerf-herder. Caught between the 3 crime syndicates, trying to make a living with a bounty on her head seems the essence of a Star Wars outlaw fantasy. The acting has been good, the characters largely engaging. Becoming a legendary Sabacc player is core to the story, so I'm glad I enjoy the game! I'll have more opinion of the story as I progress, I am still very early on at 40 hours. Summary: I got the game on sale and have enjoyed it. Like an Assaassin's Creed game, I recommend having a very different game to alternate with so play doesn't become redundant. 8 of 10 I got my money's worth and still have a while to go!
