Worth it on a huge sale, this game is in no way shape or form a $70 game, but for $20 it's worth it to a casual Star Wars / Ubisoft fan or $30 for a hardcore fan. This game has its issues, despite the budget, and the huge studio behind it, it has its issues. But I'm a Star Wars mega fan and I like to give everything a try and form my own opinions. The GOOD - The worldbuilding is insane, next level and genuinely incomparable to any other modern Star Wars game. Absolutely stunning, even down to the finest detail it's worth it alone for a megafan to just be able to listen in on conversations across multiple planets of all the different species. Graphically/visually this game is so beautiful, the planets, the space combat, the characters big and small. Notable locations include: Jabba's Palace, Mos Eisley and pretty much the entirety of Tatooine. Akiva is a beautiful planet despite the near constant rainfall and Toshara also has some beautiful scenery and locations. - The story is fun and unique to Star Wars, the concept might not be super unique but its not something I've seen before, there's four syndicates that all require attention and all do not like each other so you have to do jobs which often pin two syndicates together, making it difficult to be in the good graces of multiple syndicates at one time. But it's a fun concept. After completing the game and the DLC, the story is definitely the best thing about the game. I could see some not enjoying it but I did think it was a nice addition to the Star Wars universe. I could nitpick it, but it was good. Don't expect Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor level though. - Sabaac, A unique, space poker (not really, I don't know if there is a real life game similar to it), I think this game does it better than any other in game card games, like Fallout New Vegas didn't create a card game nearly as fun as this. It's a simple concept but this to me doesn't get stale, the rewards are good and it's just the right amount of virtual gambling to satisfy my needs. THE NOT SO GOOD - Some stuff just throws me off a bit but not enough to stop playing, such as the takedown system, I feel like I just ignore it after so long but as others have pointed out, it's a little hard to believe that you can just knock out stormtroopers in full armor with one punch, and you have to do it consistently if you don't want to be Rambo the entire game. Not unbearable, but it isn't great. - On each planet you can sit down at a street vendor, pay a measly 200 credits and eat a meal that can become a permanent buff to your companion Nix (only one at a time though, it doesn't stack). Which is cool, except it utilizes Quick Time Events. It feels kinda out of place and I feel as if I understand the concept, like they're trying to be cute but I found them to be annoying and out of place. Again not unbearable but everytime I just questioned why this was greenlit. They take way too long imo. THE BAD - Glitches, none too game breaking but with a budget this size and again made by a not so indie developer, and now it's been what, a year since the game released? It still has glitches/bugs. I haven't seen any incredibly major ones but I have had my character get stuck in a wall or get stuck while dismounting the speeder, or when walking by objects I've kicked one and it spazzes out and multiple items go flying everywhere. Again this isn't major but it does take away from the overall aesthetic as it doesn't happen in most games I've played. - Ubisoft repetitiveness. I can't see any casual gamer wanting to get anywhere near 100% completion. Like the last few Ubisoft titles I've tried, I get to a point, maybe 15-20 hours in where it just becomes incredibly monotonous and boring. Rinse and repeat and it makes you want to just streamline the main story or quit entirely. I again am a Star Wars megafan so I will go for most if not all achievements and find everything this game has to offer, I do wanna say I am enjoying it still at 40 hours, but I have spent 10+ hours at this point avoiding the main storyline (I think it's the final mission) so that I can do nonstop side missions and exploring/ achievement hunting etc. - The price.... how in the world they could justify a $70 base and a $130 max is beyond criminal. Compare this to games like Star Wars Jedi Survivor and it doesn't hold a candle to it, there are major differences and this game comes out on top when it comes to free roaming and just enjoying the worlds, but that shouldn't justify the price difference. Like previously stated I got this on a deal, I didn't even remember buying the top version and I'm sure it's mostly cosmetics and such as there's no DLC (extra missions, unless I'm mistaken), so it doesn't really seem worth it to spend more then the base price. THE DLC - Hondo Ohnaka was a great character in the Clone Wars and his character was portrayed very well in this DLC. However that's probably the only good thing I'd have to say about the DLC. The new world was enjoyable but arguably my least favorite and shortest compared to the planets in the base game. This added a few extra hours but wasn't very long. Overall the DLC doesn't seem like it would be worth the additional purchase, unless like previously mentioned there is a huge discount and you're a big Star Wars fan. I wish I could write more but it was generally lackluster. IN SUMMARY - I went into this with little to no expectations, I had heard mostly negative reviews, but I enjoyed it. The story isn't bad, the worldbuilding is beautifully insane and worth buying this on sale alone. If you've played other Ubisoft titles and have gotten burnt out from their repetitiveness, you might feel the same on this one, but if you're a huge Star Wars fan, maybe put up with some of the crap in this game and enjoy exploring some new and old planets and an interesting storyline , or don't who am I but a random reviewer.

Best argument for
The most helpful review from a veteran (10+ hours at review)Best argument against
The most helpful review from a veteran (10+ hours at review)DO NOT BUY Even after a year this game is still extremely buggy. Almost unplayable. Within the first 30 minutes of the game (the mission directly after the beginning area mission) I ran into a game ending bug causing me to restart the entire game. Another bug i've ran into is whenever i reload previous saves, my reputation will inexplicably decrease with a certain faction for no reason. This bug has happened to me multiple times. Furthermore, people advertise this game as the "GTA of star wars." It couldn't be farther from that. Your character is a socially awkward, PG criminal that can do no wrong even in the underworld of star wars. She stammers her way through the underworld with no social tact or strategy. Also, You work with the hutts, pykes, and crimson dawn except you are somehow always on the morally right side. There are no evil options in a game about the criminal underworld of Star Wars. What?! This game is extremely funneled into a good-guy play through and only that. I feel this game tries to be similar to Jedi Fallen Order except without lightsabers and the force but with blasters and syndicates. It feels almost identical to the fallen order with puzzles, parkour, and massive open world except it has no substance to be its own game. Like a cheap knock off without any thought to the its own characters or story. The main character should be more confident (similar to Han Solo since ive heard she is supposed to be based off of him) and the gameplay should allow you to be more aggressive. To sum up, the bugs make this game unplayable. the character is too nice and needs to be more confident and aggressive (I'd prefer to have evil options), and (obviously) Disney seems to not want to deviate from their safe zone. Disney keeps their games very similar to past successes such as Fallen Order taking only limited risks as to hopefully turn a profit. So at the end of the day this game turned out to be a lukewarm trash heap of a clone when it could've been so much more.

After spending around 26 hours with the game I can’t say I enjoyed the experience. I really disliked the core gameplay mechanics and the main character’s movement and physics. Combat, shooting and general character control feel very repetitive and low quality, with almost the same animations and actions used over and over again. Nothing felt fresh or innovative. The world feels empty and lifeless. I had no real motivation to explore the environment or complete side quests, as everything felt dull and unengaging. Mission design relies heavily on puzzles and there are simply too many of them. They quickly become tedious, boring, and exhausting, to the point where I just wanted everything to end as soon as possible. The graphics are good, and performance/stability is relatively okay, which are the game’s main positives. However, the story was not interesting for me at all. I would rate it 5 out of 10. The missions were so uninteresting that I rushed through the story just to see the ending. Overall, despite decent visuals and acceptable performance the repetitive gameplay, lifeless world and boring mission structure made this a disappointing experience for me... I’m honestly disappointed :(((( especially considering the price I paid for this game. In my opinion it is absolutely not worth the asking price and does not justify its cost in terms of content, quality, or overall enjoyment.

I REALLY like this game. I like the characters and the stealthy playstyle, but I simply CANNOT recommend this game. After a while, the side missions become repetitive, and the open world feels very empty. Unfortunately, having a bad relationship with certain syndicates has absolutely no impact on the main story—people from those syndicates treat you the same way whether you have an excellent reputation with them or when they’re literally sending kill squads after you. The cherry on top is that there’s been a bug in the mission "The Droidsmith" for two years now that prevents you from completing the main story, you literally cannot finish the game without using another bug to get around the problem. This bug has existed for TWO YEARS NOW!!! So no, I don't think the game is worth the full price, nor do I think it's worth buying on sale. I mean, it’s fun, but that’s about it. I simply can't recommend a game that is so poorly optimized and leaves in a bug that prevents you from finishing the game.

I got the game 75% off. And for that price it's decent. I've experienced two crashed so far, not the most stable game. But 130 EUR for the the ultimate edition is rip off, I mean seriously!?? Don't let Ubisoft steal your money, I'm pretty sure they would be able to make decent money selling it for half that. - It's just greed. Pros: - Story is good, seem engaging for the get go. There is some cute easy digestible emotions, between Nix and Kay. I like the twist of being able to be an outlaw, in an otherwise black and white Star Wars universe that is usually just good vs evil/dark side. It create a grey middle line, there haven't been explored enough in the franchise, and add contrast. - The game is beautiful, and the action sequences are cinematic and well made. - Feels like a Star Wars movie. Cons: - The game is way too easy. I usually suck at stealth based games, but even I find it laughable at times. - The NPCs are blind as a bat, and have the intelligence equivalent of a house fly trying to fly out of an open window. - The combat is shallow and lackluster, and feels generic. Using the blaster doesn't feel textile and have no kinetic feedback. And you can only use other weapons temporarily when picked up. - The open world mostly feel empty, not many POI's. - Stealth is not satisfying for a stealth focused game. - It crashes (big minus). Since I have more cones than pros, I'll give it a negative review. Do never pay full price for this game! Goes for most Ubisoft games imo. Play it for the story, and if you really like Star Wars, but don't expect much else.

As I am a older gamer, there is one thing I have learned that these developers and publishers should have learned over the years, " Patience". This is now the 3rd Star Wars Ubisoft/ EA games where I knew to wait about a year before purchasing this game because they released it without spending time ironing out the Bugs. This is a great Star Wars game , just like the previous 2 EA Star Wars Games before it, spoiled by releasing the game to early, instead of make the game more stable with less bug's. Outlaws captures the Star Wars universe "fantastically", a year or 2 from when it was released. And that is where the problem exists, I should be buying this game at full price at release. Not to know to wait a year or 2 to buy this Great Game at 1/2 Price. I read where reviewers bagged " Kay " for being dumb and doing stupid things. The reality is that is the character I expected , and thoroughly enjoyed. Kay is a orphaned girl in a cold universe with no education and skills she learned to do as a child from her abandoned mother and having to survive. She was not meant to be a James Bond agent, nor should she be expected to be. I Highly Recommend this game if you grew up watching Star Wars movies. And if you have'nt played the previous 2 Star Wars games, recommended also. Ubisoft, please take this positively if you read my review. Great game again, mawed by releasing it early instead of ironing out the Game's bugs issue's. Story and Characters are engaging and what I would expect. AAA game once again ruined by Early Release. I will by you next Star Wars instalment, it will be how much I will be paying, Full price or 1/2 price , so far it's always been the later.

I heard that Ubisoft blamed the community for being too harsh on the game and also shifted the blame to the actual Starwars franchise for this games declined popularity. But maybe it could be because oh i dont know the game is sold in 4 different price points (that aren't even cheap unless the game is on sale) and offers the middest gaming experience? I dont know Ubisoft I just dont know. Also dont buy this game it sucks. Save your money and go buy something thats actually good.

I feel this is one of those patient gamers gems. I refused to buy it at launch simply bc of Ubisoft's signature "unpolished freedom". For some reason they too decided to not lower the game price for quite a while, so I didn't see the point in buying it until the price matched my perceived level of quality I got from the game. The truth is, it's some good casual fun. Kay and Nix are very charismatic, so just exploring around with them feels adorable. We get some of the star wars feel, but with some lightheartedness you'd get from the prequels. So don't come in expecting an Andor level gritty narrative against the empire, or some award winning gameplay, but if you find it for a low enough price, it's a nice past time to take some time away from competitive games. Sucks that so many Ubisoft games suffer from this, the publisher gets too greedy about rushing the next AAAA game instead of just downsizing it a little bit, letting the team do an honest job, and selling it for a modest price.

The game is actually pretty decent! I've heard all kinds of negative comments about this one so I was a bit hesitant to buy it. But when it was on sale for around 20 euros I thought i'd have a go at it, and It turns out I quite enjoy it despite it's flaws ...cause it has a few. - It has that Ubisoft jank to it, with all kinds of weird bugs taking place, It has never crashed on me, yet. I can see this becoming a problem if the game decides to bug out so you can't progress in the game. - it offers nothing new. It's a case of (seen that, done that) it's basically"Assasins creed in space, maybe with a bit of Watch dogs sprinkled in for good measures. - Ubisoft Connect is a pain to deal with! + The voice acting and animations of all characters are really good. + The graphics are stunning on ultra settings with ray tracing ON, the world is beautiful and feels lived in. + there is plenty to find and explore, even some easter eggs from the movies which I really enjoy. To sum it up, It's a decent game, nothing groundbreaking but fun non the less. can't really recommend it at full price without the DLC's, but at a discounted price i'd say go for it if you are a fan of the world of Star wars, Assasins creed and possibly watch dogs.

So I have a whopping 60 hours in this game with Gold Edition, played through all main story, all DLC. This is not only a review of the game but also because I was forced to use it, it has to be with conjunction to Ubisoft Connect. Formerly, Uplay. An extra launcher that has to be running while you are playing. Even offline. I must also say I haven't bought a Ubisoft game in years and only bought this one after playing 3 hours demo exploring Tatooine and only because this is STAR WARS. I bought this 55% off because I knew full price was not worth it. I bought all the DLC (Gold Edition) which I knew was going to be a mistake but I wanted that STAR WARS. All of STAR WARS. Additionally, I live in Kazakhstan it was 18674.55 Tenge or at the time of purchase exchange rate it was $34.58 which is considerably less than the price in US even under 55% discount which goes for $110 without a discount in USD and for $49.5 at 55% off. That is additional $14 cheaper. And it was still a bad deal lol! What I liked about this game was combat. I didn't do any sneaking on purpose because I knew it was bad. I just killed everyone, even several times in the game when I was forced not to raise alarms i just shot everyone before they could. So that was nice I could do that. Shooting blasters feel satisfying. I love the blaster holes, the smoke, the effects, explosions, all that very Star Wars like. I ran around with the first fully upgraded Light Plasma mod most of the time. It scratched my gunslinger Red Dead SW itch but I also used all the pick up guns too (those were nice, too bad they end). I tried all the modules but most of them were bad. What I dislike about shooting is the fact that I can't turn off the hit markers. they are huge even when reduced to 75%. And I wanted to install a mod but found out that for some reason some genius tied the hit markers to the rest of UI and HUD so disabling them turns off most of it and requires heavy modding too. Why would they do such a thing beats me especially when they figured out it was annoying and gave us an option to reduce it to 75%. Should've given us an option to reduce it to 1% at least. Or hide it completely and not tie to the rest of HUD. It is immersion breaking. The other thing I liked is a plethora of options to choose from. From skipping annoying mini-games, to even highlighting the objects around you when you get lost in a special graphics high contrast mod that almost looks like a dev kit mod. That is nice. You can really customize how you play this game (EXCEPT FOR THE HIT MARKER! Yyy) The world of the game is believable. Tatooine is by far the best of all, of course. It is the most iconic Star Wars place and the level designers really put their thought into making the world feel fun to look around at even though there is no really good or fun loot to collect in any Ubisoft game. It was still a lot of fun to explore. Beautifully crafted believable Star Wars world. The story starts of promising and fun. You meet cool characters, factions and what is hopefully a good storyline unfolds before you. Quickly becomes boring and mismatched on each planet that you forget you had a story to begin with. It is just 3 quests on each planet that have completely different sub stories and break the pacing of the game. The finale they also ruined. I couldn't wait for it to be over, it became a dull soap opera with boring predictable characters. And your mom. LOL. Tatooine storyline was the best, thankfully they pulled themselves together and worked with SW material and made it believable and iconic. Also it was fun sneaking onto an imperial station off Tashara. But later on it just loses the momentum. Other planets where writers had their creative freedom run wild were rather dull compared to Tatooine. They aren't good at making their own new material without basis. ND-5. I thought this was going to be as cool a droid companion like in SW: Jedi series KX droid. It had all the potential to be as cool being from clone wars, being bad ass, roger roger type droid. Looking menacing they somehow made him ANNOYING as hell. So annoying I had to turn off dialogue while free-roaming in space and every time I heard his voice lecture me it was just boring. Even the voice actor was cast wrong for this role. The robot is an annoying grumpy dad that does not feel like a cool bad-ass murder bot but rather... a boring dad. Voice, emotion, voice lines. Everything makes it a boring dad. I wish it just shut up. It is worse than Kay Vess btw. It is the worst thing. The best thing is probably that fish tank guy Bosnok. He is annoying but in a funny way. In all seriousness, Lady Q'ira, Jabba, Lando, Hutts, Jawas. You know the real Star Wars characters are the best here. Not the protagonists and main characters. Side characters are the best. DLCs not worth getting each of them I reviewed separately in their own review. Ubisoft Connect gave me lots of pain. I had to repair the game for it to work. It gave me Doplhin 028 error of not being online. I had problems logging in and several times I wanted to played it would not let me in for hours until I found a fix. It just wouldn't let me start the game... I had previously started and they say it can be played in offline mod. The game crashes a few times too. Mainly in space. I run it on an old system on Medium, it looks nice. 2080 RTX 3900 ryzen series on m.2 SSD. 16 gb ram. I had no problems with the frame rate. DLSS on. Overall, stable no lag. But had some annoying crashes. Good thing about Ubisoft Connect is that you can manually upload a single save file for cloud sync. No more than that but you get to control it. Unlike on Steam it backs up everything but if there is a discrepancy in saving it will ask which ones you'd like to keep local saves or the cloud ones and you can accidentally erase the most recent saves on Steam so I have it off. Parkour is annoying at times. Thankfully there is this high contrast mod if you get really lost and don't feel like figuring it out sometimes, wish more games had it. Nix in many ways annoying, plays dead when shouldn't. There is not much loot diversity and you kinda just explore for the feel of the world and Star Wars. Side missions are nice but it lacks a cinematic dialogue camera making it more boring than it should be. I haven't beaten all the side quests, some lock map chest treasures behind them, I will maybe eventually come back to this game to just roam around and finish the side quests and intels but I explored the entirety of all maps. At the start of the game Kay is rather weak even on easy some enemies can be dangerous but later on she becomes a god. On Very Hard it can be a challenge. Clearly, the game is more designed for stealth. But it is a nice TPS. Sabacc and Food vendor mini-games are fun. I purposely left the button QTE mini-games in and on hard because it made it more fun. Sabacc is also very easy, but some people say they spend 50 hours trying to figure it out lol. To each their own I guess but it is hardly poker. This is a standard Ubisoft game. Smaller and more fine crafted than their Assassin's Creed slop. Connect is a pain. Lack of loot variety. Combat is not the worst. Speeder piloting is okay. Ship combat is okay. The reputation idea and choices can be fun to play with. The story becomes awful, characters are awful that you want to mute them. Should you get it? Absolutely not. Only die hard Star Wars fans should get it. At a huge discount like 55% off or better yet 90% off. Do not get the DLCs they are cash grabs. Will I come back to play this again? Maybe one day when I need a Star Wars game and there is nothing SW to play I might tackle side quests that I left out but I never again want to play this story. I just want to explore the world and shoot cartels like in Red Dead. The story you can only tolerate once and it will cringe you out anyway. Good there won't be a sequel

Despite what others say, this game is pretty decent. No I probably wouldn't buy it full price unless you absolutely love anything Star Wars. I view this game in a similar way people view Hogwarts Legacy. Some people love that game because it takes place in their favorite universe and lets them play a video game for that setting. Some people hate that game due to maybe the combat, story, critic reviews, etc. Some people will still play the game despite what others think of it being a "bad game". But as I said, if you like Star Wars, have some extra cash to spend (whether full price or on sale), and want a decent story game I would recommend this game.

Not a bad game. The game is appreciable from a Star wars fan's perspective I wouldn't recommend to buy it at full price.

So here's the rub. Given the general state of affairs, this is a great star wars game. Uninterested in the smoothbrained retorts of crusty star wars nerds that dispute this. Have watched all the movies, read the books, and played the games worth playing from back when Dark Forces was a big deal. Yeah. I'm an unc. Deal or bail. idgaf. Not a big fan of Ubi as an org, so Ill attribute this to Massive - who did an admirable job creating something this large with the time and resources they had available. Kay Vess isn't a particularly robust character in the universe, but she is a well thought out, intentionally placed character in a competently fleshed out world that stays honest enough to the source material to make certain moments uniquely memorable. This is coming from someone who considers the first KOTOR to be the best gaming addition to Star Wars outside of the original trilogy. Buy it. Yeah, it has a lot of far cry / division / asscreed DNA. But ultimately, it comes together just fine. You get your money's worth, and the gameplay loops are worth the price of admission. Ignore the incel screeching about wOkEneSS and use your own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain for a change. You might find yourself surprised more often than not. gg massive. Whatever the general consensus ends up being, know that a select few appreciated what you made. Thanks for the effort.

Update: Normally I would just delete this. But 2 things need to be said. 1. Steam is awesome. Within 15 mins i got a refund. And will happily continue to buy. 2. UBISOFT and company's as large as them need a reality check. The ONLY reason i decided to buy this was for SW and I would have NEVER bought it directly from UBI, I am old af and I know better. Steam gave me the opportunity to try it with me knowing they would make it right when it messed up. And boy did it ever, from the very start. UBI is in the same category as Blizzard. Bloated, cocky, money grubbing morons. All this did was make me never want to play an UBI game again I cant even get this piece of junk to start. Did all i need to do with UBI launcher.....Far surpass minimum requirements. Yet the game just sits there at load screen, when I click space bar to start it DOES NOTHING. This is no surprise coming from UBISOFT. Another GIGANTIC company that has lost touch. I wont waste another second on this garbage, requested refund. Wont play or BUY another game on until refund is received. Im not worried tho, unlike UBI, Steam knows what they are doing, refund will come.
