Who we are

GamersNoGate (gamersnogate.com) shows Steam reviews with context: how long the reviewer had played, what a game is praised and criticized for, and more. The site is run by GamersNoGate.

No accounts

You can use the whole site without an account. We never ask for your name, email address or password.

What stays in your browser

A few small settings are kept in your browser's storage and never sent to us as personal data: the review layout you chose (list or grid), your GameGuesser best scores, today's "Review of the day" run, and whether you dismissed the cookie notice. You can delete them any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

GameGuesser

When you play GameGuesser, your answers are stored on our server under a random run number, so a page refresh doesn't lose your progress. A run contains no personal data. Unfinished runs are deleted after a day without activity, finished ones after 30 days.

Visitor statistics

We use Yandex Metrica to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use. It uses cookies and collects data such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location and the site you came from. We don't use it to identify you. Advertising

The site shows ads from the Yandex Advertising Network (Russian pages) and Google AdSense (English pages). These networks may use cookies to show ads, measure them and — depending on your choices — personalize them. Visitors from the EU and UK are asked for consent by Google before personalized ads are shown.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our server and our network provider Cloudflare record technical data about requests (IP address, browser, time, requested page) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept only for a short time.

Steam reviews

The reviews shown on the site are public reviews written by Steam users, with links to the original review on Steam. If you wrote a review and want it removed from GamersNoGate, contact us.

Feedback

If you send us a message through the Feedback window (in the footer, or at the end of a GameGuesser game), we store what you wrote, the page you were on and the page's language; from GameGuesser also how it felt (too easy / just right / too hard) and that game's mode and score. We don't ask for your name or e-mail, so please don't include personal information. Your IP address is used for a few minutes only to stop spam and is never stored. We keep messages until we've dealt with them.

Donations

If you support the project through Boosty or Buy Me a Coffee, the payment happens on their site under their privacy policy. We only see what those services show to creators (for example the name and message you choose to leave) — never your card details.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
