One of my biggest issues is that the game still relies on peer-to-peer networking. Apparently the recently reported RCE vulnerability has been patched, which is obviously a good thing, but P2P multiplayer will always carry additional security and networking risks compared to dedicated servers. It also means connection quality and performance can heavily favor the host, making matches inconsistent for everyone else. The lack of meaningful anti-cheat does not help either. You can reportedly attach tools like Cheat Engine without the game even kicking you. Matchmaking is also extremely buggy. Teams regularly fail to balance properly, bots are not added correctly, and lobbies sometimes do not fill as expected despite the game having a large player count. On top of that, content and features keep disappearing: * Maps have been removed with no clear plan for when they will return. I understand removing maps temporarily to rework them, but why not leave the existing versions playable until the replacements are actually ready? * Zombies mode was removed. * There is still no proper 5v5 competitive Versus mode. * Character customization was removed. * There is no real punishment for teamkilling besides deducting kills from your score. * There is no vote-kick system. * Spawns in basically every mode besides Versus are terrible. * Even in Versus, the spawns do not flip properly after each round. The game keeps losing features while basic multiplayer systems still feel unfinished. Between broken matchmaking, missing content, poor spawn logic, weak teamkilling protections, no vote kick, questionable anti-cheat, and the inherent drawbacks of P2P networking, I cannot recommend playing it in its current state. The reported RCE being patched is a positive step, but it does not erase the underlying issues. The game still needs major work in networking, matchmaking, moderation, anti-cheat, spawns, and restoring or replacing removed content before I could recommend it.

I genuinely LOVE BODYCAM. I’ve made some of my best videos on this game, gotten over 100K+ views creating content around it, and I still think the actual foundation of the game is incredible. The gunplay is great. The visuals are insane. The movement, atmosphere, sound design, weapon handling, and overall feeling of BODYCAM are things that very few shooters can replicate. The problem is that right now, the bugs and some really questionable design choices are making an otherwise amazing game genuinely frustrating to play. The biggest problem by FAR is the spawn system. TDM and Deathmatch are borderline unplayable because of the spawns. It feels like there is absolutely no consideration for where enemies are when the game chooses your spawn point. You kill somebody, turn around, and suddenly they're behind you. You clear an area, start moving forward, and someone spawns in the area you literally just cleared. You die, respawn, take three steps, and someone is already behind you. Sometimes you don't even get those three steps. This completely destroys one of the things that makes BODYCAM so good: positioning. What's the point of checking corners, clearing rooms, watching angles, listening for footsteps, or intelligently moving through the map when the game can simply materialize an enemy behind you? And this isn't just something I'm experiencing. Other players are complaining about the exact same thing. People are reporting enemies spawning in nearby rooms, players getting killed almost immediately after spawning, and certain maps becoming fights around the outer spawn areas instead of the actual center of the map. The spawn protection doesn't really solve the underlying problem either. If anything, it creates another weird situation where you can encounter someone, shoot them, and realize they're still protected because they literally just spawned next to you. The solution shouldn't be making somebody invincible after spawning. The solution should be NOT SPAWNING THEM NEXT TO AN ENEMY IN THE FIRST PLACE. There needs to be actual spawn logic that evaluates enemy distance, enemy line of sight, nearby combat, recent deaths, teammate positions, and whether an enemy is actively occupying that section of the map. If every potential spawn is unsafe, give the player a slightly longer respawn timer rather than throwing them into somebody's crosshair. Because right now TDM/DM doesn't feel chaotic in a good way. It feels random. And eventually I don't feel like I got outplayed when I die. I feel like I lost a coin flip against the spawn system. --- Then there's **Versus**. Ironically, Versus is probably the mode where BODYCAM's gameplay actually gets a chance to shine. You have one life, positioning matters, sound matters, and you're actually thinking about what you're doing. But then you die... **BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.** Drones. I understand the idea behind letting dead players continue interacting with the match, but having drones flying around constantly becomes incredibly annoying. You're trying to listen for an enemy and instead you're listening to drones buzzing around you. Then you have another problem: Do you shoot the drone? If you do, you've potentially just revealed your position. If you don't, you've potentially got a drone sitting there watching you. And if you turn your attention toward shooting it, you've distracted yourself from the actual enemy players who can kill you. The drone shouldn't become more important to deal with than the actual person controlling it. Versus also desperately needs something to prevent the end of a round from turning into **Hide and Seek Simulator 2026**. If someone decides they're going to sit completely still in some obscure corner, everyone else can end up spending forever searching for them. That's not tension anymore. That's just boring. There needs to be a round timer, overtime mechanic, shrinking playable area, periodic location reveal, objective, or SOMETHING that forces the remaining players to eventually engage. Camping should be a legitimate tactical choice. Hiding indefinitely shouldn't be the optimal strategy. --- Then we have the **friend/party system**. This is probably one of the most damaging issues because BODYCAM is exactly the type of game I want to send to somebody and say: "Get on." Except actually getting everyone into a match together can become the hardest part of the night. Sometimes joining friends works. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you need workarounds. Sometimes somebody can't see the lobby. Sometimes you end up hosting a custom game and waiting for people to populate it. Reissad has already acknowledged this and said a completely new Party System is being developed that will allow friends to group together, queue across game modes, and join ongoing matches from the server browser. That's great. But until that arrives and works reliably, this is still a HUGE problem. A multiplayer game shouldn't make playing with your friends feel like troubleshooting a LAN party from 2006. --- There are other smaller issues that start adding up too. Friendly indicators can be unreliable or slow, which can cause unnecessary confusion and teamkills. Matchmaking and server behavior still need work. There are still complaints about AFK players and teamkilling. The developers are still working on anti-cheat. There have been networking, crashing, loading, replication, and lobby issues that have required patches. And while Reissad has already fixed a bunch of things — and deserves credit for actually pushing patches — the frustrating part is that the **core game underneath all of this is GOOD.** That's why these problems bother me so much. If BODYCAM sucked, I wouldn't care. I'd uninstall it. But BODYCAM doesn't suck. **BODYCAM is actually one of the coolest shooters I've played.** That's what makes the current state so frustrating. You have this incredible foundation with some of the most immersive gunplay and visuals in the FPS genre, and then you put it inside a Deathmatch spawn system where somebody can practically materialize behind you. You create a tactical one-life mode where sound and positioning are incredibly important, and then fill the map with buzzing drones after people die. You create an awesome multiplayer shooter that's perfect for playing with friends, and then make getting your friends into the same game unreliable. These aren't problems with the fundamental concept of BODYCAM. They're problems surrounding it. And that's actually why I'm hopeful. You don't need to completely reinvent BODYCAM. **You need to fix the systems that are preventing BODYCAM from being BODYCAM.** Fix the spawns. Fix the party system. Improve matchmaking. Rework the drone system. Give Versus a proper timer/end-of-round mechanic. Keep improving networking and stability. Get anti-cheat properly implemented. Then let the gunplay, atmosphere, graphics, movement and sound design carry the game. Because they're already good enough to do it. I LOVE this game. I've made some of my best-performing content from BODYCAM. I've gotten over 100K+ views making videos on it. I WANT to keep playing it. I WANT to keep making content about it. But right now, every time I boot it up, I eventually reach that moment where I've died for the fifth time because somebody spawned behind me and I just think: **"Why am I still playing this?"** That's the problem. The game isn't boring because the core gameplay is bad. **The game becomes boring because the bugs and design problems constantly interrupt the parts that are actually fun.** Please fix this, Reissad. You guys have something genuinely special here. I just want to be able to enjoy it without these bugs.

Removed currency gain from private/PVE games in order to force people to grind PVP matches. The game is expensive for how barebones it is, and it hides behind the "realistic graphics" that it has. 45 dollars for a very basic shooting game that feels like a graphics demonstration, and they're going to make you grind for what little content the game actually has. If a game feels like it needs more work, or certain things need to be expanded on and developed, it takes time, I get it. But when the game is in that state and you're already fighting against players by enforcing a grind, then it all goes out the window for me. I don't buy games often, ESPECIALLY at this price(Its too expensive even on sale), so I made a gamble and it only took two days for it to come back and bite me a game-changing update that they didn't even announce. Just silently patched it in. That'll show me for having some faith in the devs. If they don't abruptly roll it back, I'm probably going for a refund because I'm beyond tired of "waiting and seeing" with games. UPDATE: The developers acknowledged it, but only in their discord(red flag). Basically they made the game grindy, and don't like that people are grinding it. They think its unfair(lol?) and is "healthier for the game as a whole". Yeah, I'm going right for the refund now lol. Response to devs: No idea if you'll actually see this reply, but you're missing an important component here. You want people to create public lobbies for matchmaking and all that, but you haven't considered that there are plenty of people who only have an interest in whether or not they can just play a private matches with only their friends/Coop VS AI, and have no interest in competing with randoms. If they wanted to play in the public lobbies, they would already be doing that. And the fact that you have people who are willing to sit down and "Grind in a tedious way" as you've called it, there's an obvious reason why they're willing to do that. You also said: "and like every other game does, we're removing rewards from custom host private lobbies" Which is literally incorrect as plenty of games allow players to earn rewards playing against AIs.

Bodycam First Impressions When I first saw Bodycam, sometime around the middle of 2023, I was amazed that a game like this was actually being made. I didn't think it was a real game at all. For the most part, I thought it was fake. I was interested in the game and kept checking everything related to it, but after some time, I simply forgot about it. It didn't stay in my memory enough for me to buy it on the day it was released, June 8, 2024. I simply missed it and, for some reason, didn't really follow the game anymore. But this year, the major update came out, and I decided to buy the game. And I have to say that I can understand the hype around it to some extent, but for me, something is missing for the game to actually deliver what it is supposed to convey. Sure, it's cool that we have an actual bodycam perspective. The characters behave naturally, the weapons feel good, and the sound design works well. Everything is generally okay. It's just not what I personally expected this game to be. So, my first impression after buying the game and putting a pretty huge amount of hours into it is that, for me, it's just another ordinary FPS, except that here we have more realistic weapon handling, body physics, and character behavior. And that's basically it. There's nothing particularly extraordinary about it. Gameplay When it comes to the gameplay, it is different from typical FPS games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, Rainbow Six Siege, and so on, just like I mentioned earlier in my first impressions. The weapons are realistically recreated. We have quite a few reload animations depending on the situation we're in. If we're standing still and reloading calmly, the reload goes normally. But after shooting, for example, our character is more affected by stress and might fail to insert the magazine properly, meaning they have to try again. Obviously, it's a nice addition. It's not something that bothers me or anything like that. It's just a cool little visual detail. Does it actually change the gameplay? To some extent, yes, because calmly reloading your weapon is simply faster than reloading after shooting or after killing another player. So, that's pretty cool. As for the game modes, we have a ranked 2v2 mode with a bomb-planting objective, something similar to the Counter-Strike Wingman mode. We also have casual modes, such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Versus, and Gun Game. There also used to be a Zombie mode, but it has been removed for now. When it comes to the gunplay itself, I think it feels pretty good. The weapon customization is also very extensive and varied, so you can really experiment and build your own dream weapon. One thing that really annoys me, though, is the lack of dedicated servers. Because of this, the servers work on a peer-to-peer basis. One player hosts a public server and everyone else joins them. Because of that, there can be problems with joining servers and with ping. The game can sometimes feel like it's freezing or lagging simply because someone might be on the other side of the world, and the connection isn't as stable as it should be. You also can't see what your ping is on the server, so there's no real way to check or monitor your connection. This is a major issue because, unfortunately, even though the gameplay itself is supposed to be smooth and enjoyable, some player-hosted servers simply don't allow that. Sometimes the gameplay can feel really clunky because of the server connection. Graphics and Audio When it comes to the graphics in Bodycam, I have to admit that they are really impressive. The game is made in Unreal Engine 5 with an incredible level of detail, especially when it comes to the textures and the overall visual presentation. The graphics are extremely photorealistic, so you could say that, to some extent, the game is showing what can be achieved with photorealistic graphics on this engine. That's a huge plus. The game simply looks very good. When it comes to the audio, it's solid. The weapon sounds are very well recreated, and I don't really have anything to complain about here, except for one thing. When someone is shooting from a distance, especially when the fight is happening inside a building, it can sometimes be difficult to figure out exactly where the sound is coming from. I've had many situations where someone was shooting and I couldn't tell whether they were on the same floor as me or somewhere above me. That's the only thing that really irritated me. But overall, visually, this is the best-looking FPS I've had the opportunity to play, and I really like how the game looks. Final Thoughts To sum up Bodycam, personally, I don't think it has met my expectations when it comes to an FPS game. It's an interesting concept, but for me personally, it's not what I expected it to be. Of course, this is only my opinion, so someone else might really enjoy the game. Nevertheless, I will continue playing it and watching how it develops. Maybe over time, my opinion will change and this review will become more positive. But as of right now, I wouldn't recommend the game. Even though the game is decent in many ways, it also lacks replayability. There isn't really that much to do in the game. Sometimes it feels like it needs more variety. I would like to see more content, more game modes, and a more developed ranked mode rather than just 2v2. It would be great to have 5v5 ranked matches as well. I think the game needs to focus more on variety and giving players more reasons to keep coming back. Because, honestly, there isn't that much to do. You join the game, play the same modes, and that's pretty much it. So, as of today, I would give Bodycam a 6 out of 10.

A Stunning Tech Demo; A Mediocre Game Bodycam fails to do what most technical innovations fail to do when they break through to a new level of innovation: Consider what the new innovation can do. The visuals are genuinely next-tier: shocking, visceral, and novel. Well done. But what those visuals mean for the genre, and what new multiplayer dynamics are made possible, are not just underexplored, but unexplored. Slapping uncreative Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, and King of the Hill gamemodes on a game as innovative as Bodycam belies a lack of strategic and creative thinking. Devoid of any level of strategy, thought, pacing, or competitive organization, Bodycam reeks of a gifted savant who built something novel, but doesn't know how to place it in the zeitgeist. Getting one-shotted on spawn is beneath the level of sophistication that a game as visually impressive as Bodycam demands. Give us large maps with teamwork, give us coordinated breaches, and give us consequential CQB with team management dynamics, and this will be a game worth investment. Give us the 2006 arcade lobbies that we have as of this writing (late 2026), and this will continue to be a tech demo that more insightful devs will incorporate into their own projects.

Bodycam is visually impressive, but after playing for a little over an hour, the actual gameplay loop wears thin quickly.Right now, it basically feels like running around like a chicken with your head cut off in a very small map. Because the maps are so tight, there is very little room for actual strategy or tactical teamwork. There is also no single-player strategy mode or campaign, so you are thrown straight into the multiplayer chaos. You spawn, sprint, shoot (or get shot instantly), and repeat. To be fair, with only an hour of playtime, I might not have seen all the possibilities or every game mode yet. However, they do have a "Bomb" mode that is easily the best so far. It plays just like Counter-Strike’s search and destroy, where one team tries to plant a bomb and the other has to defuse it. This mode actually brings a little bit of tension and structure to the table.Still, if you are looking for a deep tactical shooter, this initial impression isn't it. It feels more like a chaotic tech demo to experience the photorealistic perspective.Pros: Great graphics, unique perspective, and a fun Counter-Strike style bomb mode.Cons: Tiny maps, chaotic pacing, no single-player strategy, and very little depth overall.

The Bodycam developers created an incredible visual tech demo and have shown amazing community support with their updates and weapon mechanics, but they fell into the classic modern trap. They built a game that looks stunning in compressed, static YouTube trailers, but feels like garbage to actually play on a fast-paced AMD setup. I don’t recommend playing the game on AMD right now. While some people may have no issues, I definitely can’t say the same based on my experience. I’d definitely recommend buying it if you’re using NVIDIA. I tested it on my brother’s PC and it runs fine, not great, but fine. On my AMD setup, though, it runs like ass, so I’ll wait for a fix, better optimization, etc.

The game is incredibly well optimized and looks absolutely insane. The visuals are some of the most realistic and vivid I’ve ever seen in a game. Unfortunately, once you get past the initial “holy sh*t, this looks amazing” phase, there really isn’t much keeping me playing. The matchmaking is awful, especially when trying to play with friends, and the game mode selection constantly resets and selects everything after each match. There’s also a pretty serious lack of game modes. No progression system, stats, leaderboards, or anything meaningful to work toward makes it feel more like a tech demo/simulator than a shooter with longevity. Amazing visuals, solid performance, but not much of a reason to keep playing.

Bodycam has insanely realistic gunwielding and physics, the graphics look footage-like because of RGB and VHS video effects. Those two aspects make the game play-worthy. Gun customization from the recent update is a great improvement, before that each round players would be given the same gun with same attachments. The bad side is the game lacks tactical/competitive elements. The gameplay is run-gun-die-repeat, you have unlimited mags, the wingman mode is csgo copycat, ect. Once you get enough dopamine from realism, there will be nothing left for you. Bugs sometimes occur also. The system of custom clothing was also removed. Now it is some useless cosmetic CoD style skins. Back in 2024 you could separately customize your camouflage: pants, vest, gloves, shirt, helmet. There was the large Forest map, if you would stuck with default dark-navy suit, your silhouette would be easily spotted in vegetation. You couldn't buy the entire set of the desired camo just by getting enough credits, every few days the assortment would change in the shop, you had to keep a track of time. Bodycam is play-worthy solely because of its realism, but an average player will invest a few evenings into it and drop it. 7/10. Since it is still in EA, newer updates may bring something new.

Bodycam has top-tier gunplay, realistic reload animations, and incredible audio that creates unmatched atmosphere. Unfortunately, great graphics aren't enough to save broken core mechanics. Host matchmaking is atrocious, routinely stacking the enemy team with real players while giving you a squad of useless bots. On top of that, blatant wallhackers ruin matches, and without a killcam feature, there's no way to report them effectively. Add in random hard freezes that require Task Manager to kill, and the experience quickly falls apart. I'm leaving a thumbs down and putting the game on hold until the developers fix the lobby balancing, anti-cheat, and stability.
