I played The Forest for the first time last year. I loved it and also played Sons of the Forest. Even though the second game added more details, improved graphics, and cannibals that act more intelligently with better AI mechanics, I found the gameplay of the first game better and more sustainable, with a smoother learning curve that helps the player get used to the game naturally. Even at the beginning of the game, when I had nothing and was vulnerable, the cannibals were not too aggressive, the first game has a good startup mechanism, while the second game feels more complex. Overall, I like the first game experience more. After I finished both games, I came back to the first game for all the completions. I waited to write this review until I reached 100%. Positively, The Forest is the best open world survival game that I have ever played. I love the map and how everything is located. You learn about plants and animals in a fun way. There is also a building and crafting aspect that could easily be a separate game on its own. That is very creative. The graphics are also very good. I love the story. It is mysterious and engaging. I learned so much about the cannibals and how to kill or avoid them. If I have to say one negative thing about the game and this is the only one. It is how the AI was implemented for the cannibals. Okay, the developers wanted the cannibals to move unpredictably, and that is fine, but they were disappearing and appearing 5 meters away in less than a second. I do not think this is a glitch, but somehow it comes from the implementation. I am not sure it was intentional, though. Anyway, the whole game experience was fun for me. If I could erase my memory, I would want to play it again :D I saw The Forest 3 in the space mentioned online, and I simply cannot wait for it <3

i think this is the best realistic survival open world game that i have ever played and i thank the Endnight team for making this avaliable at cheap price (i bought it on discount). Talking about the story, i would say it is good as far as it is not fantasy because you know, it is survival game and it has to be realistic just like the real world.

Могу сказать одно играли с другом, весь контент The Forest, он в пещерах на поверхности особо ничего интересного нету, ну а так своих 75 рублей по скидке стоит, после того как мы сделали дом не хотелось куда-то вообще идти.

17 hours of my life gone. Every single cave is just the same pitch-black copy-pasted corridor, and the combat is literally just spamming left-click at naked cannibals until your stamina runs out. You spend 90% of the game chopping logs like an unpaid lumberjack only for a mutant to step on your base. Go pitch a tent in your backyard and beat up a bush it's cheaper and identical.

The survival game where the only thing struggling to survive with each passing hour is my enthusiasm. Combat & AI Intelligence Circle-strafe cannibals like it's 1999, poke mutants with a spear, or just headshot everyone with a bow. Got into trouble? Step onto a rock. The AI will suffer an existential crisis, letting you smack them to death while they contemplate life. Bonus: You can grab the S-Tier weapon in the first 5 minutes. Who needs progression in a combat oriented survival game. Base Building: A Disrespect of your time Misplaced a wall? Too bad, zero refunds on materials you gathered past hour. Everything costs a ridiculous amount of logs, making the trial-and-error process incredibly frustrating. The punchline? The map is so small that building a base is pointless anyway – temporary camps are all you need. Survival & Crafting: A Walk in the Park Hardest caves are basically abandoned grocery stores overflowing with soda and bars. Zero food poisoning, zero consequences from eating weird things, like mushrooms or poison berries. There’s an infection system and a "Sanity" meter, but both do absolutely nothing. Crafing is fun. The only aspect of this game that somhat has progression touch. Tons of cool options, but since resources respawn infinitely it's very easy to get everything you need within firist 30 minutes. Story: Open Google Zero. Null. Nada. Scraps of lore are scattered so chaotically that you’ll end up on a Wikipedia rabbit hole at 3 AM just to understand the ending. Minimalism is fine, but this game just ghosted me. Verdict Did I enjoy it? The first hours are genuinely fun and atmospheric. But once the illusion shatters and you see the amateur design flaws, the fun drops drastically with each passing hour. Best buy on a deep sale.

A solid survival game for sure. I can't say I have many games to compare to, but given the fact I've had this game for over 10 years now (yeah, my earliest saves are from 2016) and it's in 1.0 since 2018, I still think it holds up and is worth the money and time. Perhaps wait for a sale though. There's a ton to explore and you're rewarded well for doing so, mainly when it comes to new weapons. That you will need, the combat is rather cool, even if ranged weapons are obviously the best, since the threat of the cannibals and mutants is constant and ups in difficulty over time. Which then makes you care about building a defensible base. The building itself gets tedious, but so does basically every survival I've played so far, if you like gathering materials in Minecraft or Don't Starve, you'll enjoy it here as well, I know I don't enjoy it in any game, which is why I appreciate you can build custom stuff or be lazy and use the default structures. Complaints? Well the story doesn't make much sense, but since I followed this game in its early days, I know it was an afterthought, the devs made a survival game with cannibals and then slapped something resembling a plot on top of it. I enjoy the fact there's a conclusion to the game at least, surviving endlessly to me means I drop the game eventually without a fulfilling end. There's some bugs, for example the cannibal's pathfinding has them run in place, face in a rock, when trying to catch me, that's standing on top of that rock. Do you get that mental image? I hope so, since it's the only thing off the top of my head that I came across. And that's about it for complaints. So yeah, good game, if you're into survival games, you'll enjoy that one as well.

мне не понравилось. игра находилась в раннем доступе 4 года с 2014 до 2018, а сейчас прошло 8 лет спустя релиза и игра все равно очень баганная и с кривыми хитбоксами. очень надоедает геймплей спустя пару часов, врагов в игре тоже мало и делать особо нечего. по факту чтобы пройти игру надо просто лазить по пещерам и это весь сюжет. игру спасает только кооп за 50 рублей на скидках еще пойдет, а так не рекомендую

Игра хорошая, на несколько вечеров ее точно хватит. Не требовательна к железу, а также довольно дешевая, если урвать по скидке.

Для меня игра Калл из за многого количества багов, симулятор про хождение по пещерам, охоту и убийство аборигенов. для такой игры багов слишком уж много, не советую брать по полной цене, только по скидке. Cпустя пару часов игра утомляет из за одного и того же. Баги ебанутого формата от хуёвых хитбоксов до прохождения сквозь стены и обездвиживания из за которого приходится перезаходить и появляться на последнем чекпоинте, что мешается прохождению, бесит с этого каждый раз всё больше и больше. Но проходить ♥♥♥♥ хочется

The Forest - это очень интересная и залипательная игра, в которой можно строить особняки и убивать тучу монстров. В этой игре ты проводишь безумные и незабываемые часы своей жизни. Я с этой игрой познакомился примерно чуть меньше года назад, и сначало я играл а пиратскую версию, но потом когда появилась возможность, то почти сразу я пошëл тратить на эту игру, там как раз по скидке было, и в The Forest стало играть ещë веселее, ведь там есть сервера и MP. Думаю, эта игра заслуживает отдельную похвалу, даже спустя 8 лет после релиза... 100 поваленных деревьев из 10

The Forest — это хоррор на выживание с открытым миром, где вы после авиакатастрофы ищете пропавшего сына на острове, кишащем каннибалами. К минусам можно отнести высокую сложность, утомительный сбор ресурсов для больших построек и редкие технические неполадки, ну мб у меня комп говно. Сейчас скидка до 9 июля вроде как скидка -78% (примерно за $4, 95 руб) это отличный выбор для фанатов выживалок с умным противником и мрачным сюжетом. Хотите обосрать стул? Покупайте

Оч крутая игра. Когда скачивал думал что заброшу её, или быстро надоест. В итоге за 435 рублей (а во время скидки где-то 100 +-) получил незабываемую выживалку, прикольно играть как одному так и с друзьями. Прикольный геймплэй, как по мне так же много возможность. Тех кого интересует могут углубится в сюжет (он здесь есть и по мне он довольно интересный). В игре есть какая-то прикольная атмосфера,когда садишься когда-нибудь вечером поиграть, прям завораживает. ВСЁ ЧТО Я СКАЗАЛ ЛИЧНО МОЁ МНЕНИЕ, могу в чём-то ошибаться. Советую.

Лес действительно ощущается живым, а ночь заставляет нервничать даже спустя десятки часов. ✔️ Строительство базы реализовано отлично. Можно потратить больше времени на возведение дома, чем на поиски сына. Человечество, как всегда, умеет расставлять приоритеты. ✔️ Интересная система выживания: голод, жажда, охота и исследование мира работают вместе и редко надоедают. ✔️ Кооператив делает игру в несколько раз веселее. Особенно когда друг случайно поджигает весь лагерь. ✔️ Хороший дизайн пещер. Некоторые моменты действительно пугают без дешевых скримеров. ➖Минусы: ❌ Искусственный интеллект противников часто вызывает вопросы. Иногда они ведут себя как хищники, а иногда будто забывают, зачем вообще существуют. ❌ Сюжет интересный, но подается настолько кусками, что большую часть времени приходится самому собирать пазл. ❌ Боевка ощущается деревянной. Удары не всегда регистрируются так, как ожидаешь. ❌ После середины игры чувство страха постепенно исчезает, потому что ты превращаешься из жертвы в ходячую машину для истребления мутантов. ❌ Оптимизация местами оставляет желать лучшего, особенно на крупных базах. 📜Итог: заслуженно считается одной из лучших игр в жанре survival horror, но называть ее шедевром я не стану. Имба игра с другом в 1 прохождении он потащил меня в пещеру за катаной мы здохли по 6 раз и в 3 ночь получили кару бензопилу катану и куча припасов. Еще я решил ему сделать сюрприз и подарил ему аборигена зажаренного он был рад. И вчера я подарил еще 1 другу игру а сегодня на нее началась скидка, спасибо. Рекомендую если в 1 ночь ваш друг тянет вас в пещеру или на гору шлите его далеко и на долго

Эта игра, в которой за тобой бегают толпы девушек и ты от них убегаешь, попутно отбиваясь от них Эта игра, в которой можно забыть о своей семье и строить дом, о которой всегда мечтал, попутно поедая немытую жареную пятку Канибала, прикусывая мясом воробья Я только-что впервые прошёл игру и под впечатлением пошёл сразу-же писать отзыв! Проходил с другом (он тоже новичок, но он смотрел прохождения, а я вообще не шарю в игре) и наше первое прохождение заняло 10 часов! Саму игру покупал по скидке за ~87 рублей/533 тенге и за эту стоимость я получил уйму эмоций и впечатлений! На самом деле я хотел забить на сына и просто обустраивать лагерь дальше и мы почти достроили американские горки на пол карты, но друг настоял проходить сюжетку, тк мы итак уже прокаченные и в итоге пошли! Мы избили маленькую девочку, кидав в неё динамит и коктели Молотова, херачили её прокаченной дубиной (самым мощным оружием ближнего боя) и обстреливали из лука, а когда стрелы закончились - вспомнил о существованни рогатки в моём инвентаре и впервые за всю игру стал её использовать, унижая босса и добив тем самым с рогатки маленьким камушком :D Игра настолько понравилась, что точно буду повторно проходить и обязательно буду выбивать 100% достижения (на момент написания у меня их 11/45)
