TL;DR: My first Onimusha game and a fantastic introduction to the series. Excellent combat, memorable characters, beautiful cinematic direction and surprisingly good character development make this one of my favorite action games in a while. It does suffer from repeated bosses and fairly basic side content, but the core experience is strong enough that I rarely stopped having fun. This was my first Onimusha game, so I went into Way of the Sword without any nostalgia for the older titles or expectations about what an Onimusha game should be. I can only judge it for what it is, and what I got was an incredibly enjoyable action game with one of the most satisfying combat systems I have played recently. Combat is easily the star of the show. Capcom gives you plenty of weapons and different ways to approach fights, and learning how to properly use everything is genuinely satisfying. Parries, deflections, counters and Issen attacks give fights a great rhythm where aggression and precision are equally important. At first you can get away with simply reacting to enemies, but the better you become, the more stylish and controlled the combat starts to feel. There is something incredibly satisfying about standing your ground against a powerful Genma, reading its attack, deflecting at exactly the right moment and immediately turning defense into offense. The game rewards learning enemy patterns without feeling like it wants to punish you simply for making a mistake. Weapon variety helps a lot as well. Different weapons are not there just to slightly change damage numbers. They give you different tools and encourage you to experiment with how you approach encounters. Even after many hours I was still enjoying fights simply because controlling Musashi feels so good. And then there are the cutscenes. Honestly, almost every important cutscene in this game is CINEMA. The direction, animation, camera work and character performances are excellent. There were multiple moments where I simply put the controller down and watched. Capcom clearly wanted Way of the Sword to feel like a supernatural samurai movie, and in my opinion they absolutely succeeded. Using Toshiro Mifune's likeness for Musashi could easily have felt like a gimmick, but it works extremely well. His facial expressions, posture and attitude give Musashi a huge amount of personality. The supporting cast deserves praise too. The characters are colorful, expressive and often surprisingly funny. The game knows when to take itself seriously and when to let its characters breathe. That mixture of horror, violence, comedy and exaggerated personalities gives Onimusha a charm that I did not expect going in. Musashi himself was probably my favorite part of the story. At first the plot seems fairly simple, and honestly, on paper it is. Demons are invading Kyoto, Musashi receives power he never asked for, and now he has to deal with it. But underneath that simple premise there is a story about what strength actually means. Musashi begins the game arrogant, selfish and obsessed with proving his ability as a swordsman. He does not see himself as some noble hero chosen to save everyone. He wants to rely on his own skill, and even the power of the Oni Gauntlet feels almost insulting to him because it gives him strength that he did not earn through the sword. Watching that attitude gradually change was one of the things I enjoyed most about the story. He does not suddenly become a completely different person. He is still Musashi, still confident, crude and stubborn, but he slowly starts accepting responsibility and caring about people beyond his own path as a swordsman. That simple character arc gives the story more depth than I initially expected. The setting also deserves a mention. The combination of historical Japan, traditional folklore, grotesque Genma and almost theatrical samurai storytelling works beautifully. Kyoto is atmospheric, and some environments are absolutely gorgeous. The creature designs are especially good, with many Genma looking like something pulled directly from a disturbing old Japanese painting. Performance on PC was also excellent in my experience. The game looks great, runs extremely smoothly and offers plenty of graphics settings. Considering how good some of the environments, effects and cinematic sequences look, the optimization deserves praise. Unfortunately, Way of the Sword does have one noticeable problem: repetition. Bosses are reused too often. The strange thing is that I still enjoyed fighting them. Most bosses look fantastic, have fun movesets and work extremely well with the combat system. Fighting a good boss again can even be satisfying because it gives you an opportunity to see how much better you have become. But there is a limit. When the same bosses or minibosses start appearing repeatedly, some encounters lose the impact they had the first time. A creature that initially felt intimidating eventually becomes just another familiar obstacle. The same issue affects some of the side content. Many side quests are fairly simple and exist mostly to give you upgrade materials, resources or another opportunity to fight. They are useful for strengthening Musashi, but if you are looking for elaborate side stories with deep characters and difficult choices, you probably will not find much of that here. Lady Murasaki's requests are a notable exception. Her Curious Cases add more personality and context to the world, and I found them much more interesting from a storytelling perspective than most of the standard optional activities. Some of the rifts and other recurring objectives also start feeling repetitive later in the game. The combat is good enough to carry these sections, but there were moments where I would rather have continued the main story instead of clearing another familiar encounter. This creates occasional pacing problems, especially if you are someone like me who likes completing optional content instead of rushing through the main path. Still, those problems never ruined the game for me. The reason is simple: the foundations are just too good. Combat remains satisfying, Musashi is a great protagonist, the cast has personality, the bosses are visually fantastic even when reused, and the cinematic presentation is some of Capcom's best work. As someone who had never played an Onimusha game before, Way of the Sword made me understand why people were excited to see this series return. It has flaws, and I would love to see a sequel with more varied side quests, fewer recycled encounters and more unique bosses throughout the entire campaign. But as my first step into Onimusha? I loved it. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy Japanese folklore, samurai cinema and action games built around genuinely excellent sword combat.

Combat mechanic and boss fights are good but that's all about it, everything else is a massive drag to justify the price tag, out of 20+ hours not even half of it are quality gameplay, just a bunch of sidequests to cut down borderline harmless enemies, holding buttons, catching dogs and fighting the same 2 bosses for 10+ times.

This Isn't the Capcom I Love I was very excited for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Capcom has been on an incredible run for almost a decade now. Especially after this year's amazing Pragmata and the pretty good Resident Evil Requiem, my excitement was at an all-time high. That excitement took a hit when I played the demo. The game felt mindlessly easy, and I really didn't like the washed-out, desaturated visuals. Still, I couldn't stop myself from getting the full game. So, how was it? Let's find out. Gameplay and Combat The first 30-40% of the game is honestly an extremely boring button-mashing experience. I was very negative about the game until I reached that point. Thankfully, things started getting much better afterwards. The combat opens up, and the boss fights become easily the best part of the game. They are fun, challenging and very satisfying to learn. The problem is that everything between those boss fights feels like a complete waste of time. The gameplay outside of bosses is braindead, and so is the challenge. Normal enemies barely attack you, then suddenly the bosses go grazy. Especially after the second Benkei fight, the difficulty spikes become very noticeable. It feels like the game can't decide how difficult it actually wants to be. On top of that, every boss has to be fought 3-7 times (closer to 7 usually) 70 dollars you said? Yeah, the game can't last only 10 hours, right? The enemy variety isn't much different either. I fought the same two bosses six or seven times each which is just crazy and lazy. The charms were also disappointing. They never felt interesting enough to build around. If you can't do it like Hollow Knight, don't do it. Level Design and World Design The hub/open world design is interesting at first, but completely unnecessary. The biggest problem is what they decided to do with it. The side quests are terrible, and the open world is full of boring fetch quests and Ubisoft-style checklist design. From Dead Rising turning a shopping mall into an incredible sandbox where you could interact with almost everything, to Onimusha: Way of the Sword using Ubisoft open world design... unbelievable, Capcom. There is almost no real exploration. You simply move from one checklist activity to another. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3801867754 The worst part is that it feels like everything outside the boss fights exists only to waste the player's time and artificially extend the game's length to justify the 70 dollar price tag. That even includes the main quests. Most of the main quests are boring too, except when you finally get to fight a boss, and that's assuming it isn't another repeated boss. Come on, Capcom. I didn't become a fan of you because of this. I became a fan because you made gameplay-first 10-15 hour games that respected the player's time. Story and Pacing Another thing that surprised me was how much talking there is. Too many cutscenes. Too much yapping. Capcom is supposed to be a gameplay-first studio. If you're going to tell a story, it has to be meaningful, well paced and worth the player's time, just like you guys did with Pragmata. Boss Fights Even though I have many complaints about the game, I genuinely loved most of the boss fights. Almost every boss took me between one and five tries, which felt fair and rewarding. Then came the final boss. Just when I thought I had mastered the game's mechanics, the game suddenly throws a completely different kind of fight at you. It has nothing to do with why the previous bosses were fun. Right before it, you even go through a boss rush. Those bosses are all enjoyable. Then suddenly the final fight has three phases, long cutscenes during the battle, and if you die in the last phase, you have to start all over again from phase one. What is this, Capcom? Is this Malenia? The final boss also feels heavily inspired by Radahn, but that style simply doesn't fit this game. Can you at least let me heal? The healing is already unresponsive and reminds me of Dark Souls 2, where you have to completely stop doing anything just to use a healing item. I had immense fun with almost every boss before this one, but the final boss left a bitter taste in my mouth. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3801867655 Presentation and Technical Issues The visuals are washed out and desaturated. I honestly have no idea why nobody is talking about this. Do people actually like colorless games with a white filter over everything? Performance is good for the most part, although I still had two crashes on my high-end PC. The camera is another major issue. At least 30% of my deaths happened because of camera problems in corners, which became very frustrating during boss fights. The music is also pretty average. I finished the game and honestly can't remember a single track. Final Thoughts This is probably my biggest mixed bag with Capcom in recent years. When the game lets you fight bosses and enjoy its combat system, it's genuinely excellent. But almost everything around those boss fights feels like filler designed to stretch the game's length rather than make the adventure better. I still had a very fun time because the combat system and most of the boss fights are excellent. But I really hope Capcom goes back to making tighter, gameplay-first experiences instead of trying to justify a 70 dollar price tag with repetitive content and unnecessary padding. Dear Capcom, I am going to forgive you this time because you made a good combat system, great boss fights and a very fun game overall. But if you do this again, I won't turn a blind eye.

Одна это The Blood of Dawnwalker от братьев-славян, а вторая, как вы понимаете, Onimisha.

I'm giving this a wouldn't recommend until capcom fixes or addresses my issues with it. This game is pretty decent as a standalone game but it's a terrible onimusha game. Remove the forced tutorials, let me turn off shizuka and musashi's constant backseating, add more weapons with different move sets, add another playable character. Literally anything "Onimusha" besides the bare minimum "guy sword japan" The good: The boss fights are fun. Okuni is cool, wish she was playable. Cutscene choreography is nice. Strong third act and last few bosses especially are great. The bad: In every onimusha before this, you play the game to learn the game. The pacing was good because 90% of the time you were playing the game and if there was a cutscene there was a cutscene. This game? Do 3 hours of tutorials, do a forced upgrade and do another tutorial for your forced upgrade so you can get a tutorial for taking tutorials. Do a ff7 remake "force the player to slow down so they can listen to someone talk". Go here and do this sidequest so you can go here and get a bunch of map marked collectibles and then go back here like it's a ubisoft game. Upgrade your stealth so you can stealth kill enemies in this hack and slash game where the sword play is the fun part. Go collect little ores and gears to upgrade your gear by 2 percent but ONLY when the game tells you its okay to upgrade it now, instead of just maxing out your swords for level 3 magic with red souls whenever you want like in every other onimusha. Yeah this takes place like 30 years after nobunaga died but no there's no guns anywhere for some reason. The worst part is the whole time, you have some girl yapping in your ear DO THIS, DO THE GUARD BREAK, DO THE GUARD BREAK, WATCH OUT THEY'RE SHOOTING A PROJECTILE, WATCH OUT, Good job, you did so good, good job good boy, shut up, PLEASE GIVE US AN OPTION TO MUTE SHIZUKA SHE WON'T SHUT UP. Doing a puzzle? Don't worry, shizuka will tell you how to solve it! The story sucks too. It's 90% "Musashi go here and kill the genma because the woman wants you to.. Go here and kill the genma cause the man wants you to. Go here and kill the genma and then let someone else tell you to go here and kill the genma because the woman wants you to" and musashi doesn't care at all, he doesn't want to do this or be here, he's not self motivated as the protagonist at all, and all he says is "damnit, you bastard, damn bastards, die you damn bastards. hah, that was fun." Then the game has the nerve to reference tale of genji and then look at the camera and literally tell the main character "You should read tale of the Genji, it's really good". Because musashi freaking miyamoto is our player insert and clearly knows nothing about japanese culture I guess. The graphics are washed out and desaturated because "modern". The music is forgettable and not really noticeable. First the first time in the onimusha franchise, there's one playable character and one equippable weapon. They have the nerve to sell "premium deluxe skins" of the raizan and enryuu and then give them no special effects. There's statslot charms for 4% more healing or 15% more status effect duration. Boring. Onimusha 4 had equipment for +1 attack too, but you know what else it had? 5 playable characters with upgradable skills, unlockable moves, different attack sets depending on the weapon, like 20 weapons a piece with different passives and elements, a unique mechanic only they could do, unique map traversal only they could do, and you could tag back and forth between them, on TOP of the equipment, and all 5 of those characters had their own reason to be part of the plot that personally motivated them on the journey every step of the way. This was 20 years ago back when capcom made CAPCOM games. Also, what happened to tap dashing, the iconic onimusha movement that's in every onimusha game? Why is every issen a cutscene? Why is every change they made to the game trying to slow it down and make everything take more time and be more "cinematic"? Did anyone on this team ever play an onimusha game before? You're going to make me wait 20 years and pay 90 dollars for an "onimusha" with 1 playable character, 1 usable weapon, no tap dashing, no color, barely any memorable music or score, that constantly is telling you how to play the game and treating the player like a child? With a protagonist that has some of the worst one liners since ethan winters? Go play onimusha 3 and dawn of dreams and come back and make a good onimusha, stop trying to make a SONY game.

Fantastic game, well optimized, genuinely fun combat system. I have some personal problems with the game in relation to it's legacy, but as a stand alone game, I think it's a great, well crafted game. (giant unc rant ahead. please ignore.) If you've played the original four Onimusha games (Warlords, Samurai Destiny, Demon Siege, and Dawn of Dreams), you will find that this game has almost completely discarded all of the backstory built up by those games. it doesn't directly refute them, but it completely omits any reference to them. the only nods to the original four games are one enemy, the gauntlet and souls mechanic, and some non-canon dlc weapon skins. that's it. I am really disappointed in this decision, as it makes me feel alienated as an original fan of the series when I was growing up. The original, almost alien, design of the genma was iconic, and the Shakespearean names of the genma leaders was so memorable that I can clearly remember each one by heart. now we have another Japanese historical fiction with extremely similar visual and design styles to it's contemporaries (Nioh 1-3 is the biggest example). it feels like the best parts of what made Onimusha interesting and unique have been stripped away. Old Onimusha was dark fantasy with a layer of historical fiction to make it more grounded and impactful. now it's so focused on being based in reality that I can't suspend my disbelief of all the insane events happening right in front of limp, lukewarm intelligence Japanese villagers.

Onimusha is genuinely one of the most fun games I have played. The combat is easily the biggest reason for that. It is one of those games where the combat is clearly the main attraction and everything else is built around it. The story is decent, the characters are memorable, the bosses are great, and even though there are some obvious flaws, none of them really took away from how much fun I was having. The side content is nothing special, the graphics can look a little washed out, and some enemies do get repetitive. But the art style helps a lot, and the combat is good enough that I honestly just wanted more reasons to fight. Overall, this is just a really solid action game. Combat I really want to start with the combat because this is where the game shines. The amount of things you can do is honestly pretty crazy. You can block, perfect parry, perfect dodge, deflect attacks, and then you have Reflexes on top of all that. There are games that do one of these things extremely well, like Sekiro with its parries or Black Myth: Wukong with its dodges, but Onimusha somehow manages to put all of these ideas together and make them feel satisfying. And that satisfaction is what kept me playing. Yes, some enemies can get repetitive, and you even end up fighting some of the same bosses again in side content. But honestly, when the combat is this fun, I don't really mind. Give me a bunch of enemies to fight and let me mess around with the combat system and I'm happy. If you enjoy action games mainly for the combat, I would definitely recommend giving this a shot. Story I wouldn't say the story is anything amazing, but it is good enough to keep me interested. More importantly, it never got to the point where I felt bored or wanted to drop the game because of it. I actually liked the characters quite a bit. They have enough personality to make you care about what is happening, and the cutscenes are enjoyable. One thing that surprised me was how expressive the characters are. Their facial expressions add a lot more life to the conversations and make the characters feel more believable. For a game where the combat is clearly the main focus, I was honestly impressed by how much effort went into making the characters feel alive. Graphics This is probably the area where I felt the game could have done more. The graphics can look pretty washed out at times, especially when you compare them to what we have today. The bar for visuals is ridiculously high now, so games like this can definitely show their age. Thankfully, I really like the art style. It gives the game enough personality that I didn't really care about the dated visuals after a while. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3799338396 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3799338450 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3801823936 And honestly, I will always take a game that is fun to play over a game that looks amazing but isn't enjoyable. Onimusha may not be the prettiest game around, but it has an art style that works, and that's enough for me. Conclusion I had a really good time with Onimusha. It has its flaws, and there is definitely room for improvement with the side content, enemy variety, and visuals, but none of that changes the fact that the game is just really fun. The combat is the star here. Once you start getting comfortable with parries, dodges, deflects and Reflexes, there is something really satisfying about going into a fight and just seeing what you can pull off. At the end of the day, Onimusha is just a really fun action game, and sometimes that's all I need.

Правильно "Ah ♥♥♥♥ here we go again" Закрой ещё пару разломов.

Вобщем, "Onimusha: Way of the Sword" худшая игра Capcom в этом году (а возможно и последних пару лет).

TL;DR It is a mediocre modern AAA sl*p, or rather, a product which contains the traces of a game. TO BE SPECIFIC: CONS: 1) Your companion, a.k.a. The Gauntlet keeps, yapping over and over and over again about basically everything. -You did pick up a resource you don't need -"How fortuitous" -You made ONE attack into a block, because enemy decided to block *Adjust glasses* - "AKTUALLY... You need to use the ability to break the block" 2) Lack of enemy variety and poor AI -There are only 8 distinct enemy types in the game, and that amount is STRATCHED, to say the least. -Only 2 Mini-bosses is a genuine insult. -2 or more enemies wont attack at the same time. 3) NG+ -Someone in Capcom decided that it would be REALLY fun to force you to grind resources to upgrade your gear AGAIN, but carry over literally EVERYTHING else gear and ability wise into NG+. Everyone knows that running all over the map just to open boxes is "FUN". 4) Carnage difficulty (which you get only after completing the game for the first time - how else, lmao) -Just a lazy solution to increase HP value of everything which makes everything even more sloggish than before. 5) Lack of anything meaningful in open world. -A handful of mediocre side quests paired with dozens of collectibles, and that's it. That is the entire "open world" PROS: 1) Game works good - how low the bar is, eh? -On my rig, I got stable 60 FPS at 2k resolution on the ultra preset, without FrameGen 2) Combat feels responsive -Hit-boxes, parry/deflect/dodge timings are fair, and I would say generous. 3) Bosses are quite good - most of them, at least -I did genuinely enjoy most of the bosses, They are fun to fight, and some of them were quite challenging (for me) VERDICT: Buy it on sale. This doesn't worth full price and definitely is not a "10/10 Masterpiece" that some journals said.

Extremely well optimized game. Didn't have a single hiccup performance wise so far. The story is interesting from the very get go, mostly because the main character has a captivating personality along with a world building that's quite well done. Combat wise, the common enemies so far are pretty easy to defeat but from what I've experienced so far the boss design is what they've put more focus on and that's where you'll start feeling the game's challenge spike. All in all, Onimusha WOTS is a pretty solid game from capcom, one that I didn't regret buying. The combat is quite cinematic, the game as a whole is pretty cinematic. I've noticed that they went the extra mile to explain all the little elements of the game in an extremely clear and transparent way, which makes the game friendly to the newcomers to the franchise. Onimusha WOTS is not excessively/unnecessarily difficult, even on the action-difficulty while also giving the player a fair challenge during the boss battles. The game has stayed faithful to the spirit of what the original Onimusha games were like and capcom even managed to improve on the original formula. Good story. Good graphics. Fair and comprehensible gameplay with room for mastery. The game is very atmospheric and well designed. Good boss design. I've tried to stay objective but do take into account that I've played the first game on the ps2 back when I was a little child back in 2005, so I could just be speaking with slightly biased views due to nostalgia in spite of my conscious attempt of staying objective and neutral.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword — это наглядный пример того, что можно адаптировать старые или уже хорошо знакомые идеи, дабы вернуть из забвения почившую серию игр. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Is this a good game? Well, it is decent. Would I recommend my friends to play it? Hell no. If you are an old fan of the Onimusha series, you might enjoy this game. If you're not, there are quite a lot of better games out there. For example Onimusha 3, or 2, or 1. The good parts 1. The Onimusha combat mechanics returns well, a lot better and smoother than before. Fights feel smooth and legit, especially the parries in this is awesome with actual weapon swiping animations (unlike most other game where parries are just you swing bang and enemy stagger back). Issen is still as hard and satisfying as ever. Boss fights are well done in general and I really enjoy them. 2. ... I tried to think of another great point *objectively* but can't find any. Sorry. The fighting is the only impressive thing of this game and it does deserve more praise so let's say it again: fighting feels great the Onimusha way. If you liked any prior Onimusha, the fighting of this game will blow you away. The bad parts 1. 2~3 hours of tutorial. Which "coincidentally" is just past Steam's refund policy window. Interesting. I get it the tutorial session is also the whole pre-release demo, so it does have a reason to be long. But honestly it sucks. 3 hours of playing and you get exactly 2 introductory gadget (the twin blade special and the bow that everyone hate). The game gives you 2 or 3 upgrade materials as hint for incoming upgrade, urging you to play on "because the juicy part is just ahead" and you struggle on through the boring empty dungeon until it's too late to refund. It's bad business practice, and very bad first impression imo. 2. "The game design winning formula" You know "that" game right? Open world action rpg? You got a companion along talking to you about existential ♥♥♥♥♥? While you collect 20 gigaton of sticks and herbs and do five billion side quests from stranger to help out some devastated neighborhood? Sounds familiar? Like basically 80% "AAA" games in the past 2 decades? There's a reason it's a winning formula: you just need to pay people to chunk up some believable enough settings and people will accept it. But the problem is it is done terribly here. 3. The story sucks, it just rant on about literally nothing for hours. The sidequests open up absolutely nothing about the characters, because the characters are plain boring templates that have no f-ing personality to reveal about. Let's face it: Onimusha stories were always plain as f, and that was okay because they were action-centric games that last 20 hours. It is NOT okay to rant on about this literally-nothing-happening story for possibly 100 hrs as I see this game is trying to do. I am here to chop some Genmas, not to care about some fictional blank-faced Kyoto NPCs. 4. The open world is literally just chores: collect enough items scattered in this huge unmarked map, then do these errands and you get an upgrade. Congratulations you have unlocked new chores to chop down some repetitive Genmas to get pouch upgrades Congratulations you have unlocked new chores to fetch dogs from all previous maps to get sword skins Oh did you notice these little hidden chests here? That's right it's a secret chore where you return to the boss room after the chapter to open up their encyclopedia pages!!!! "Why wasn't the chest just be there the first time you kill the boss"? No no no no no we don't do that here, you need to return to this empty room afterward to appreciate all the little wall textures our artist labored to draw. All abilities, equipment and skills you must unlock slowly, one thing at a time through elaborated storylines that exhibit the intricate craft of telling absolutely nothing in an hour of narration. And then you run back to that dungeon 3 more times to do chores to add +5 damage to that unlocked skill. 5. Game is too damn easy I just replayed Onimusha 3 last month in anticipation for this game. It was pretty hard, just the way I like it! This game is just too damn easy. Combined with elaborated repetitive continuous mob farming it get boring really fast. I have switched to issen-only self placed constraint now because if I don't do that this game is just too sleepy. --- Since I'm already past the refund window, probably I'll try to continue playing and see if I can finish it to not waste the money. But if you're still at the store page and hesitating: my advise is don't.

I am coming near the end of my playthrough of Onimusha and this is how you do a modern rendition of a classic game from the past. I had a ton of fun with Musashis adventure. Pros: Graphics - The world is gorgeous. RE engine does it again as expected and it performs flawlessly. The character models, the enemies, the world and areas all look fantastic. Animations - This games animations are truly top tier and dam near next gen. It's insane how well this game is animated, down to every last detail. Musashi facial animations are in a league of their own. Combat animations are unbelivable. Backwards parry instead of auto turning to parry an enemy behind you adds a level of realistic depth most didnt even know they needed. Music - The music in this game is epic. Not much more to it than that. Every soundtrack hits. Ambient sounds set the tone. Its all here. Gameplay - Multiple different upgrade paths for skills, weapons, charms etc. Theres so much to customize. Combat is visceral and rewarding. Its fast but strategic. Boss battles are super fun and challenging. I honestly think this game has some of the best combat in the last 5+ years for a game of this genre. Side quests galore to do, boss arena mode as well. So much to do here. Story - The story in Onimusha is actually really good. The classic nemesis rivalry that has a satisfying payoff. A true villain who isnt afraid to be a villain. Better yet hes a pure psychopath. Its amazing. Takamura and his heroic ways, what a hell of a payoff there. I really enjoyed this games story. Cons: Enemy variety - This opens up just enough at the very end, but honestly its pretty bad. The enemy variety is minimal, fighting the same enemies for a very long period of time with barely any new introductions. Repeating bosses - They have two bosses in particular that get repeated a ton. I feel like they used these as filler bosses and after a while I was like "AGAIN?". It got kind of annoying after a while. Movement clipping - Typical capcom, a ton of movement clipping when moving a little too quickly or running up to one of their many invisible walls exploring the areas. Overall I really enjoyed this game and I cannot recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed with this. Thanks for reading.
