It's somewhere between good and bad. On one hand it looks nice and is the same fluid fighting game I've loved since childhood. On the other hand the story mode kinda sucks and there's not much to do beyond unlocking achievements and tower battles.
The character selection is pretty weak without the DLC content but it all goes on sale dirt cheap pretty regularly so I suppose if you pick it up on sale then it's worth it.

This isn't a fighting game, it's a full-time job.
Pros:
- Great graphics.
- Smooth animations.
Cons:
- The Grind: You have to play for 1000 hours just to unlock a skin.
- Towers of Time: Artificial difficulty designed to make you buy consumables.
- Always Online: If your internet blinks for 1 second, you get kicked from a SINGLE PLAYER mode (Krypt).
- Character Customization: Most of the cool gear is locked behind RNG.
I miss the days when you bought a game and actually OWNED the content.

Can't access some parts of the game without online connectivity to NetherRealm's servers, e.g. The Krypt, Towers and other things, you must be connected to access The Krypt whatsoever, which has coincidentally been refusing to work for me since purchasing with sign-in errors. Even if it did work I would probably still refund it, since I don't support games with these kinds of practices attached to it for largely single-player content, this wasn't an issue in the previous games. What happens when the servers go down permanently? - You're left with 65% of a game.

I would love to recommend MK11 but my experience with it has been so negative that it has poisoned my view on everything that I liked about it. This is because of how the WB servers and customer service works.
I managed to play a solid 14 hours of this game with out flaw (way over the steam product refund limit) then I got message that my account couldn't be connected to their online server. After retrying to connect to the servers, I suddenly get a notification that I am "temporarily banned" instead. This is without a reason since I had been playing online with my friends in a manner that has never been a problem in any other game, meaning I had not gone against terms and conditions in any way.
This temporary ban persists to this day, even after contacting WB customer service, they never got back to me after 2 initial emails, so I never got help to my issue.
This experience has simply poisoned my experience with this game and I can't recommend it for that.

Долгое время я не мог пройти дополнение к игре и решил, что оставлю игру на попозже. Время прошло и только сегодня, я прошёл сюжет и знаете, всё-таки это лучший MK который я играл, почему? В нём всё хорошо, да есть глупые моменты в сюжетной истории, но это скорее уже грехи, чем конкретный минус. Персонажи выглядят как живые актеры благодаря захвату лиц, морщины Рейдена , шрамы Кэсси Кейдж — всё передано очень детально. Но почему на 2026 год это лучшая часть - рассказываю.

ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЯ
Когда ты впервые запускаешь MK11, первое, что бросается в глаза — интуитивно понятное меню и кинематографичный размах. Игра встречает эпичной заставкой и продолжением истории с X, которая закончилась поражением Шинока . MK11 сильно отличается от предыдущих частей. Геймплей опирается на нейтральную игру, опираясь на чтение противника. Теперь тут важна тактика и вовремя используемое усиление. Добавились добивания, но как? - Это критические удары, срабатывающие при выполнении условий (например, контратака после неудачного броска). Активируются раз в матч и показывают слои мяса. Это главная "фишка" MK — она награждает за тактику, а не рандом разных кнопок. Также у каждого бойца есть теперь 3 вариации наборов спец ударов и добиваний. Чтобы получить больше, они крафтятся в крипте или даётся по мере прохождения башен, но для баланса используют стандартные приёмы.
СЮЖЕТ
Буквально сразу, нам представляют нового злодея, а точнее злодейку, Кронику . Она хранительница времени — решает переписать историю, чтобы спасти свою сестру и антагониста прошлых частей, чтобы переписать историю. Она манипулирует временем, сталкивая прошлые и настоящие версии героев и сталкивая истории разных героев лоб в лоб. Кровавый сюжет, крутые диалоги и наконец эпичные кат-сцены битвы Рейдана и Лю Кана , пик сюжета (однако жирный минус за 30 кадровые склейки сцен между игрой и видео). Раскрытие Лю Канга из избранного героя и превращение в мрачного сломленного воина - эпик. Ближе к финалу — он становится Бога Огня и Времени. Один из лучших арков в серии, которые были написаны для этого персонажа.

ОНЛАЙН И ДОПОЛНЕНИЯ
До сих пор жив и не падает, потому что MK1 не оправдал ожидания. История проходная и не очень интересная, хотя замысел был многообещающим. Пару раз заходил и разносил за Коталя, однако сейчас в неё играют ветераны и пробиться куда-то очень сложно.
Дополнение Aftermath добавляет ещё полтора-два часа сюжета и раскрывает злодеев как надо, без какой либо жалости. Также крутое завершение полного сюжета - это был крутым эффект. Помимо игрового дополнения, есть ещё паки с персонажами, их можно иногда приобрести по скидке и советую - это очень крутые и колоритные персонажи.
ОПТИМИЗАЦИЯ
(i5-9600K, RX 5700 XT, 16 GB) - Мои настройки
На 1080p иногда микролаги из-за старого драйвера. Решается просто, на карты AMD установить райвер 23.11.1 или включить Radeon Anti-Lag. На моём железе MK11 может летать в 1440p на ультра — 100+ FPS, но играю сам в 1080р. Игра хорошо оптимизирована.
СТОИТ В НЕЁ ИГРАТЬ СЕГОДНЯ?
Да и всем.
Новичкам в файтингах — это лучший старт в жанре, благодаря туториалу и простые комбо, а для любителей одиночного контента — башни и крипта дают ещё 100+ часов. Единственный момент, те, кто не любит гриндинг скинов — игра буквально пилит время на этом. Если же не интересно, то не тратьте время.

ИТОГ
Если поймаете Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate на скидке то берите не думая. Стильный и очень сытый файтинг, который не состарился ни графически, ни геймплейно. Плохого ничего не могу сказать, поэтому только "FINISH HIM"!
Wanted To play this game online with friends. Turns out there is a known online issue that makes the experience very very anoying. Played an hour and could finish 1 game with my friend. That is actually pretty hillarious. I am sorry for anyone bought this game full price to experience this messy online.
Also i play other fighting games. From the Community side mk11 and 10 are good games and 1 is not realy Mortal Kombat (Competetive wise). But they dont even manage to make the good games playable?
For a known "bug" its pretty sadge to have very good recent reviews. So iam leaving this here. Would be happy if this would get fixxed.
unable to connect to any of the online features. It is a huge let down that you can only access half the game. If you are ok with story mode and thats pretty much it, get it while it is on sale, definitely not worth full price for half a game. Luckily it was part of a bundle that was on sale, so 2 out of 3 games in the bundle being worth it is fair, I guess, not really. it seems the servers for Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 1 are still up.
I got this game while it was on sale, and to be honest, I got my money’s worth. The gameplay is fun and easy to learn, but I think I started to develop some kind of toxic relationship with this game, because some people’s playstyles are just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying in online mode. The story was incredibly polished and I very much enjoyed it (even though I didn’t play the older MK story modes).
It also runs pretty well on my integrated graphics (on low settings).
(also this game is the origin of the meme "She kinda bad tho-")
Glazing aside, there were some cons...
- No online VC (Which is probably for the best because I'm toxic asl ngl).
- Some people get problems connecting to the WB servers, but I only got this once and the fix was quick.
But overall for the on sale price the game is 100% worth it.
Mortal Kombat 11 is basically Mortal Kombat X on steroids — bloodier, more brutal, and packed with crazy new fatality moves that make your opponent look like they just went through a meat grinder… no refunds!
The characters are back in full glory, plus some new ones, each with unique fighting styles and savage combos that require iron fingers and nerves of steel. The game’s vibe is a mix of horror, drama, and pure adrenaline, with a storyline that hooks you more than some soap operas.
There are tons of modes — from classic one-on-one fights and story mode to intense multiplayer battles where one mistake means instant death in a split second.
The best part? Even if you’re a total noob who can’t pull off combos, the game cuts you some slack so you can just have fun and laugh with your friends. And playing with buddies guarantees tons of laughs — especially when someone tries to do a fatality and ends up hitting the pause menu instead.
The graphics are top-notch — character details, fight animations, and special effects make every fight look like an action movie scene.
Rating: 9/10 — because Mortal Kombat 11 delivers brutality and style like no other!
If you ever see someone trying to do a fatality but accidentally hit the menu button, just know they’re either new or totally scared… and honestly, good for them!

Full price game but has banner ads for MK1?
The game in itself is fine.. but I paid for the game and there's a big ad banner that can't be closed advertising MK1 on the main menu..
If you are looking to buy this game on PC for its online play, then don't bother. I as well as other players are experiencing dsynchronisation issues during matches, and because of that we are unable to finish the matches. This is not a connection problem on our end, but an issue with NRS' servers. Therefor I requested a refund. Other than that, story ok... graphics are good, game is fluid.

Странная синхронизированная по сети анимация для онлайн игры. Ужасный (не смешной, не интересный) сюжет. Отвратительная битва с боссом. Бесполезное обучение. Ужасные возможности настройки. Недоступные турнирные варианты. ОТВРАТИТЕЛЬНОЕ НАКАЗАНИЕ ДЛЯ РЕЙТИНГА ЕСЛИ ДОЛГО НЕ ЗАХОДИЛ В ИГРУ. Я провел время в этой игре не потому, что это было весело, а потому, что я думал, что мне просто нужно стать лучше, чтобы наслаждаться ею. Теперь я понимаю, что это просто ужасная игра с красивой графикой. Кривое обучения не из-за длинных комбо-строк и быстрой игры, а из-за плохого образования игроков, плохой навигации по меню, большого количества времени загрузки и низкого качества добавленного контента.
Плюсы: Можно купить игру только ради того, чтобы получить скидку на Injustice 2. В противном случае ждите пока они не решатся снизить цену на неё. Хорошая игра для пс клубов, покупать её отдельно на свой аккаунт даже не стоит.
Fun for casuals, couch 1x1, playing with cousins, gf, friends etc. I've been into the story since the first until the mk armageddon, after this, the new timeline sucks so bad.
