It's somewhere between good and bad. On one hand it looks nice and is the same fluid fighting game I've loved since childhood. On the other hand the story mode kinda sucks and there's not much to do beyond unlocking achievements and tower battles.
The character selection is pretty weak without the DLC content but it all goes on sale dirt cheap pretty regularly so I suppose if you pick it up on sale then it's worth it.

This isn't a fighting game, it's a full-time job.
Pros:
- Great graphics.
- Smooth animations.
Cons:
- The Grind: You have to play for 1000 hours just to unlock a skin.
- Towers of Time: Artificial difficulty designed to make you buy consumables.
- Always Online: If your internet blinks for 1 second, you get kicked from a SINGLE PLAYER mode (Krypt).
- Character Customization: Most of the cool gear is locked behind RNG.
I miss the days when you bought a game and actually OWNED the content.

Mortal Kombat 11 - достаточно неплохой и даже хороший файтинг для современного гейминга, но со своими проблемами. Сейчас его онлайн довольно маленький, но поиграть ещё можно, и поиграть можно с удовольствием (хотя конечно смотря какой противник вам попадётся). Не буду сильно тянуть резину и перейду к плюсам, которых не так уж много, но игра достойная даже с таким количеством плюсов. Mortal Kombat всегда был игрой не для того, чтобы расслабиться, и вы это должны понимать (просто на удивление есть отзывы, которые жалуются на то, что игра слишком сложная)
Графика - она тут действительно на высоте, на максимальных настройках графики выдаёт очень сочную картинку, арены детализированы и каждая уникальна в своём роде. Тоже самое можно сказать и про фаталити.
Механики игры - их тут достаточно много, от чего чтобы стать мастером игры вам придётся провести много часов в режиме тренировки. Crushing Blow, Fatal Blow (или же X-RAY), спец-приёмы, броски, улучшенные спец-приёмы, Крипта (это отдельный режим, в котором вы можете побегать по острову Шанг-Цзунга и получить костюмы, материалы, доп. фаталити и так далее за внутриигровую валюту) Overhead-ы (удары, которые пробивают нижний блок) и так далее и тому подобное. Их очень много, они уникальные, из-за чего в игре много контента.
Музыка - музыка очень хорошо прописана, из-за чего я хочу похлопать каждому композитору игры. Та же тема арены Огненный сад Ширай Рю чего стоит. Из-за неё игра становится ещё живее
Сюжет - по поводу него ничего сказать не могу, так как я его в данный момент прохожу на скорую руку :/)
А вот теперь поговорим по поводу минусов:
Жадность разработчиков - если вы хотите полностью прощупать МК11, то вам придётся раскошелиться, ведь в обычной версии MK11 вам недоступны некоторые персонажи, а так-же большинство скинов не открыто с самого начала (как в MK11 Ultimate). Игра конечно полностью не завязана на донате, но в некоторых моментах он раздражает. Паки скинов, все эти платные добавки и баффы, которые улучшают игру - портят впечатление о ней.
Баланс персонажей - он достаточно неплох, но иногда очень криво и плохо прописан. Если на других персонажах нужно уметь правильно играть и соображать, то Терминатор и Робокоп это просто машины для нубов. На них ты можешь просто спамить оружием и дробовиками и если твой противник не научится правильно тебя контрить (контрить - это правильно блокировать твои удары и спец-приёмы на игровом сленге), то с вероятностью в 80% вы сможете выиграть.
Игроки - чем больше ты выигрываешь против игроков, то у тебя повышается твой уровень. И вот я кое что заметил - чем больше у тебя уровень, тем чаще тебе будут попадаться игроки, которые спамят кнопками и пользуются кривым балансом персонажей. Тебе будут очень часто попадаться игроки, которые нажимают одну-две кнопки и могут выиграть, если ты не научишься правильно это блокировать, и это чертовски бесит, ведь чаще всего ты стараешься правильно играть и учишься, а такие просто спамят двумя кнопками и выигрывают чаще, чем ты и другие, которые хорошо играют.
В общем и целом, игра действительно хорошая, но не идеальная.

I got the game 90%, and I still felt insulted when I booted it up. It's appalling to see almost half of the fighters grayed out behind a paywall. Look I'm a 90's kid. Just look up MK Ultimate selection screen on mega drive. You could barely fit all the characters in there. This was '96. I know it's an unreasonable comparison, but dammit...and this is an old game by today's standards.
Add the fact that today 07/01 marks the beginning of the end of physical media. I remember taking the cartridge to a buddy house for a fun sunday afternoon, or a friday night sleepover, and you'd boot it up and it's a complete game. And then you lend that game to your buddy and he lends you one of his. This is all just ancient history by now I guess.
Alright, that's enough ranting, time for me to go right back to extinction.
EDIT: Leaving it as a bad review, because essential characters that have been out for DECADES like Sindel and Sheeva are now PAID. Might as well gray out Sub-Zero and Scorpion too while they're at it.
Critical Issues with MK Matches:
While the core gameplay of Mortal Kombat (MK) is solid and enjoyable, the overall experience is significantly hampered by technical and balancing issues. Approximately 90% of my match sessions are abruptly terminated due to desynchronization errors, making it nearly impossible to complete a game. This persists despite running the game on a fully updated system with Windows 11 and the latest drivers.
Furthermore, character balancing remains a major concern. Certain characters feel overwhelmingly "pay-to-win," as they can spam a single move and secure victory within a few hits. Health imbalance is another glaring issue, where your attacks deal significantly reduced damage compared to your opponent’s, and their hits often register first—even if you initiate the attack. This leads to frustrating situations where the opponent’s animations override yours, suggesting possible script manipulation or unfair mechanics designed to prolong playtime.
On top of this, Mortal Kombat’s constant desynchronization problems make the game incredibly frustrating. Matches frequently end mid-session, and while this might be tolerable at first, it becomes unbearable when it happens in 100% of matches on certain days. For a premium game on PC or console, this level of instability is unacceptable and detracts from the enjoyment.
In comparison, a free mobile game like Shadow Fight 4 Arena offers a far smoother and more reliable experience, with no such issues. Considering MK's technical flaws, it’s hard to recommend the game, especially when its most basic functionality—completing a match—is unreliable.
If these issues are widespread across the entire MK franchise, it raises serious questions about the developers’ commitment to quality. Rather than frustrating players with a broken experience, it may be time for the developers to reassess their approach—or even consider retiring the series until these problems are resolved.

Моё мнение об игре
Mortal Kombat 11 — это качественный, продуманный файтинг, который удачно сочетает традиции серии с современными стандартами жанра. Разработчики явно учли ошибки прошлых частей: здесь меньше случайностей в бою, а баланс (хотя и не идеальный) проработан лучше, чем в MKX.
С другой стороны, игра не лишена спорных решений. Например, система кастомизации, хоть и добавляет вариативности, иногда приводит к тому, что некоторые способности персонажей остаются невостребованными в соревновательных режимах.
В целом, NetherRealm Studios удалось создать проект, который понравится как фанатам серии, так и игрокам, которые ценят техничный, но зрелищный файтинг.

Поскольку в серию Мортал Комбат я вливаюсь именно с этой части, некоторые лорные моменты мне не совсем ясны, но мне очень понравился сюжет в МК 11, можно даже сказать глубокий сюжет! Знай я предысторию всех героев, может понял бы лучше некоторые диалоги... как файтинг, скажу, что руки мои перемешались на клаве))
Багов никаких я особо не видел, хотя возможно я просто был не внимателен. Если оценивать боевку в этой игре, то это одна из лучших файтингов, в которую я играл. Поэтому любителям настоятельно рекомендую ознакомиться с этой частью, особенно зайдет фанатам этой серии игр/фильмов!

Highly recommended — especially in the Ultimate Edition.
Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the best entries to the series in recent years. Several new gameplay mechanics have been added (Fatal Blows, Flawless Blocks, Breakaways, Dashes) and builds on previous mechanics to enhance the kombat. While the game feels slower overall than the previous MKX, it arguably improves on certain strategies and pacing. The storyline revolves around time and introduces a new villain named Cronica, who is bent on reshaping history in her own vision. Despite the fact that MK games generally have outlandish stories to begin with, MK11's is alluring enough for fans of the series. There are plenty of cinematic cutscenes between chapters to keep the excitement flowing. This is by far one the most visually beautiful fighters out there; animations are fluid, character models are jaw dropping, and backgrounds are varied, imaginative and highly detailed. Fatalities and brutalities are as savage and satisfying as ever, showcasing the series' patented brand of violence in an artistic way. The soundwork is solid across the board, from the voice acting to the crunching of bones.
MK11 features an impressive roster of both iconic and new characters. Two Kombat Packs were later released as DLC which added several classic and guest characters such as the Joker, Rambo, Spawn, and T-800. With 37 characters to choose from, there's plenty of choice for all kombat styles. There's a deep fighter customization system, with many skins and gear to collect. Set on Shang Tsung's island, the dark and atmospheric Krypt serves as the setting to unlock and open various chests filled with different pieces of equipment, as well as fatalities, taunts, intros, etc. Fighters' movesets can also be modified to create unique variations. There are other single player modes available apart from the main story such as classic towers and towers of time. Strangely the tutorial was by far the most difficult part of the single player experience with insanely hard challenges. Multiplayer mode includes the robust Kombat League, where players can test their might against others in ranked matches, with rewards on the line.
Mortal Kombat has come a long way since its inception and this latest instalment offers plenty of content and a great kombat experience, adding to its legendary status in the gaming world.
In my opinion this is the best modern Mortal Kombat game. Decent roster of characters and tons of ways for customizing each and every one of them, both mechanically and visually.
Having played +100hs I feel like I barely scratched the surface, and I haven't even touched story mode yet.
If you are looking for a fighting game with loads of content (single player wise), this is for you. The way you make progress in the krypt through playing towers with randomizers is engaging and keeps you coming back for more. On top of all the mentioned above, is the special-move customization feature, which gives you a lot of room to play with different combinations and find what suits your playstyle best. If that isn't of your interest, you can directly select any of the 2 base builds that are premade for each character (those are the ones allowed if you play competitive online).
I personally prefer this 1v1 type of combat (with occasional and OPTIONAL tag assists) instead of the approach that MK1 makes with constant 2nd character assists that are a core part of its combat mechanics that you can't turn off.
I also like the pace of the combat, which is a little bit slower than MKX.
If I had to go back to a previous MK that I enjoyed as much as this one, it would have to be 9, but given that it's not been available on PC on any store lately, and it being a PS3/360 era game (some people consider that era retro already), I would go for this MK11 instead of X or 1.
I recommend getting the most complete version of the game with all its DLC's on sale.

Да, самим жанром файтингов я начал интересоваться относительно недавно и до этого серьёзно ими не увлекался. Да, это немного не мой жанр, в MMO, RPG, шутеры и соулс-лайки у меня наиграно значительно больше часов.
И да, в этом месяце выходит МК 1, новая игра по франшизе, запускающая её мягкий перезапуск. И данный обзор не в последнюю очередь написан именно по этой причине, выразить благодарность этой замечательной игре, пока из неё не переехала большая часть онлайна.
Итак, что хотелось бы отметить, если сравнивать с MK X 2016 года. Ну, во первых, тут качественный скачок буквально во всём. В графике, которая выглядит современной и проработанной в том числе и для 2023 года, и останется такой ещё весьма приличное время. В системе снаряжения и кастомизации бойцов, которая тут по своей структуре прямиком из injustice 2 ( разве что вроде бы не увеличивает урон персонажа напрямую, но это не точно, врать не буду ). В наличии тонкой детальной настройки стилей бойцов под свои запросы, в том числе и с возможностью создать собственный стиль ( новичкам - комбы и приёмы попроще, мастерам - посложнее ). Это очень большой шаг вперёд, и можно только надеяться, что в МК 1 разработчики продолжат держать планку.
Во-вторых - существенно более проработанный ИИ. Если я например в MK XL на средней сложности щёлкал традиционные сюжетные башни как щелкунчик орешки и с 1 попытки, то здесь уже в классической башне чемпионов ( на 12 противников ) местные боты своим постоянным прессингом и многоступенчатыми комбинациями быстро дали понять, что работать кулаками и ловить тайминги новичкам придётся со всей силы, без всяких поблажек.
В третьих - благодаря обилию косметических предметов для персонажей, в МК 11 имеется контент на сотни часов игры. В том числе и для тех, кто ( Вы не поверите ) ненавидит PvP в файтингах ( не в последнюю очередь из за фактического отсутствия какого-либо адекватного матчмейкинга или из за мейнинга 90% сообщества одного и того же персонажа ). Если в MK XL, после закрытия мейн-сюжетки и сюжетных башен на каждом персонаже и принципиальном отказе от боёв с рандомами в онлайне, в какой-то момент просто становилось нечего делать, то MK 11 предлагает значительно больше, чтобы задержаться в нём подольше.
Чего только стоит полноценное 3D подземелье-крипта с ломящимися от сокровищ сундуками и кучей смертоносных ловушек! Или временные башни, обновляющиеся каждый день, и предлагающие Вам косметику за победу в награду, для Вашего любимого мейна! Даже если Вы категорически не хотите играть против рандомных мимокрокодилов хрен знает откуда - здесь это и не требуется, играйте против ИИ на здоровье, без плюшек и косметики точно не останетесь)
В-четвёртых...Главная антагонистка игры, Кроника. Даже здесь всё значительно лучше, чем с финальными сюжетными боссами МК 9 или MK X. У NetherRealm Studios получилось сделать её в меру сложной и в то же время интересной. Кроника даже близко не настолько читерская, как вторая встреча с Шао Каном в MK 9 ( на которого из казуалов не ругался только ленивый ), и не настолько рандомная, как дедушка Шиннок в MK XL ( НУ ЧТО, ПЫХНЕМ ПАРУ РАЗ ОГОНЬКОМ В ТЕБЯ, ВНУЧОК? ИЛИ НЕ ПЫХНЕМ?! ). Она отлично сбалансирована, заставляет грамотно ловить тайминги и распределять ресурсы, но при этом не спамит в Вас неблокируемым термоядерным огнём и не вызывает жгучее желание бежать за огнетушителем. Если Вы будете держаться вблизи и почаще блокировать её атаки, то победа не заставит себя ждать.
Всё это в совокупности делает Mortal Kombat 11 одним из лучших файтингов, который можно с чистой совестью порекомендовать как новичку, так и профессионалу, который до этого MK по каким-либо причинам не пробовал. Из недостатков можно выделить лишь кривой матчмейкинг, где новичка может постоянно кидать против ветерана, но это болезнь абсолютно всех файтингов и лекарства от неё никто пока не придумал) Да и от PvP тут можно с лёгкостью отказаться, практически ничего при этом не потеряв.
Хочется верить, что новый MK 1 будет ничуть не хуже.
UPDATE: И буквально через несколько часов после написания этого обзора стало известно, что сервера Mortal Kombat 1 заблокированы для России! Ну что ж, это их борьба и в том числе борьба Warner Bros, пожелаем провонявшим политической грязью недо-борцунам удачки с их недо-культуркой отмены. Благо МК 11 очень приятный по графике и всему остальному и в него спокойно можно играть ещё долгие годы, пока у байденутых мамкиных борцунков термоядерный пожар пониже спины окончательно не потухнет :D
Mortal Kombat 11 – это высокобюджетный файтинг с великолепной графикой, огромным количеством разнообразного контента, прокачанной боевой системой и интересным сюжетным режимом, в котором фансервис удачно сочетается с общей интригой. Если вы любите серию и жанр, то можете смело покупать игру. Она вас точно не разочарует.
