Buying this ideal product of the gaming industry, I can safely say that this game is not scary like DDLC and other similar products. I like this game because it scares not with jumpscares, but with immersion in the world of this game. The fourth wall, in principle, can break in this game, which is worth the scene with the cap when she takes out an 18+ toy from the inventory, saying "Oops! Well, you knew that the game was 18+." The game not only immerses, but pours the player into the plot, world and lore of this beautiful game. I also like the philosophy of crazy Mita and was extremely surprised by the plot for the continuation of the plot. This game is not just a psychological horror with the idea of getting into the game, it is something more that I cannot describe here. I am extremely patiently waiting for a peaceful mode, as well as a possible continuation of the plot of this game, since there is a plot. I wish everyone who has read this not only to buy this game, but also would like to wish you a Happy New Year.

A game carried by presentation, not depth. Miside is essentially a walking simulator with occasional horror elements and puzzles. You get trapped in a video game by some murderous yandere, 'Evil Mita' that starts hunting you after rejecting her. Your goal is to travel through versions of the video game to find to a portal and escape, with the help of the sane Mitas you encounter along the way. The game is very short, taking 3-5 hours to complete, and this is one of its biggest issues. Evil Mita is a terribly written, OVERPOWERED antagonist with poorly explained motives. You spend the entire game running from her, only to be inevitably killed in the true ending. She also kills the friendly Mitas you meet along the way. They canonically respawn quickly after death, making a major sacrifice that happens late game pointless. On top of that, you don't spend enough time with these characters to form a meaningful emotional connection. The ending leaves you with many unanswered questions, plotholes, and no reason to replay. I respect that the game was made by a small team. The visuals and performance are great, but that alone can't carry a narrative driven horror game. I don't understand the hype or how this is called a masterpiece.

MiSide is actually a very nice and well made game with a nice Story and a very good Horror Aspect. It starts very cute and cozy and then turns into different ways. I don't want to spoiler anything but it's a really great game. Praying for you, O Great Mita

The amount of content, the variety of mini-games, and its unique overall design make it a game that absolutely deserves a chance. Although it's relatively short, every moment feels meaningful and well-paced. The different versions of Mita each have their own distinct personalities, and they're written surprisingly well. Throughout the game, you'll find yourself sympathizing with some of them, while growing genuinely attached to others. The game currently features two main endings—or technically three, although one of them is still unfinished according to the developers. I completed the longer ending in about 5.5 hours, and I walked away feeling completely satisfied with the experience. The "crazy ai girlfriend" concept has been explored many times before in TV shows and anime, but experiencing that kind of story as an interactive game creates a completely different feeling. It adds a level of immersion that simply isn't possible in other forms of media. The character models are charming and fit the game's art style perfectly, while the gameplay mechanics remain enjoyable throughout. My only real complaint is the lack of proper controller support, which would have made the experience even better. Other than that, MiSide is an easy recommendation. Its engaging story, well-timed jump scares, unsettling atmosphere, and the constantly changing tone brought by each version of Mita make it a memorable experience that I believe every horror fan should try at least once.

Yeah, I definitely understand why MiSide has overwhelmingly positive reviews and I'm one of them. The best advice I can give for this is to go in as blind as possible. While I knew it was a horror game and the very basic premise, I went in not knowing anything else and enjoyed every last damn second of this game. It's quite humorous in places but also unsettling and creepy in others. The story is pretty good and most of the mini games are really fun. The music was great and I thought the voice acting was really solid.

✅ Played knowing it was horror ✅ Made me pause out of fear ✅ Love it with my entire being It starts off cute and cozy then slowly turns rlly dark which is how I like my horror games. The psychological horror hits hard, and the atmosphere and cute vibes are super well done. If you like slow-burn, story-driven horror that plays with your expectations, then play peak.

Best 6.8 hours I’ve spent in my life. Seriously, this game is worth every single dollar. The story was amazing and kept surprising me the whole time, and some of the jump scares genuinely caught me off guard. This is currently one of my favorite horror games of all time! The characters were great, the game design was super well made, and there were SO many cool easter eggs hidden throughout the game. (Shoutout to the music team for making insanely catchy songs btw) I’d highly recommend jumping straight into the game without watching gameplay videos or spoilers first. Trust me, the experience is way better that way. I personally didn’t need help with the puzzles, but some of them might be tricky for some people, but you could easily find the solutions on YouTube by looking up the name of the chapter or the objective. Easily a 10/10 game and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to play a horror game. Praying for you 🕯️ O Great Mita 💝

⭐ I didn't just play MiSide — I fell for it… and for Mita. MiSide is a masterclass in psychological horror disguised as a cute life-sim. It starts sweet, then slowly twists into something deeply unsettling, and I loved every second of it. The Japanese voice acting for Mita? Absolutely perfect — it made her feel alive, which only made the darker turns hit harder. Every environment, every reveal kept me hooked, and the attention to detail is unreal. MiSide isn't just a game — it's an experience that lingers, a love story that becomes a nightmare you can't stop chasing. If you want something unique, beautiful, and terrifying, this is it. 10/10 – For Mita, always. 🕯 Praying for you, O Great Mita 🙏

MiSide is a psychological horror adventure that disguises its disturbing intentions beneath the appearance of a colorful anime-inspired life simulator. Developed by AIHASTO and published by IndieArk, the game introduces a seemingly innocent relationship between the protagonist and Mita, a virtual girl living inside a mobile-style game. What begins as a routine of spending time together, completing simple activities, and maintaining a digital relationship eventually becomes something much stranger when the protagonist suddenly finds himself physically transported into Mita's world. From there, the comforting fantasy gradually transforms into an unpredictable story about obsession, captivity, identity, and escape. One of the game's most effective qualities is how patiently it manipulates expectations. Mita initially behaves like the ideal virtual companion, enthusiastically inviting the protagonist to spend time with her through activities such as preparing food, taking photographs, playing games, and relaxing around her home. These mundane interactions establish a sense of familiarity before subtle irregularities begin appearing. Once the protagonist expresses a desire to return to reality, Mita's affectionate personality becomes increasingly possessive. The resulting horror is effective because the danger grows out of a relationship that initially seemed harmless rather than appearing immediately as an obvious threat. The visual direction plays an enormous role in maintaining this contrast. Bright rooms, anime character designs, expressive animations, and vibrant colors would normally belong in a cheerful simulation or romance game. MiSide deliberately uses these elements against the player. Familiar locations can suddenly become uncomfortable, characters can shift from adorable to threatening, and ordinary objects can acquire disturbing implications. Instead of relying exclusively on gloomy corridors and darkness, the game proves that a brightly illuminated room can be just as unsettling when the player knows something is fundamentally wrong. Gameplay primarily combines first-person exploration, environmental interaction, dialogue, puzzles, minigames, and scripted narrative sequences. It is not designed around deep combat or complicated character progression. Instead, the mechanics exist to keep players involved while the mystery develops. Exploring rooms, examining unusual details, solving straightforward challenges, and following clues creates a steady rhythm that works particularly well with the story. The game also changes its presentation and mechanics often enough that it rarely feels like the player is simply walking from one conversation to another. The story becomes considerably more ambitious as the protagonist discovers that the situation surrounding Mita is not as simple as it first appears. Different environments and unusual encounters gradually reveal additional layers to the digital world. The presence of different characters and personalities adds variety while preventing the central concept from becoming repetitive. Some encounters are funny or strangely charming, while others are deliberately unnerving. MiSide frequently moves between comedy, affection, mystery, surrealism, and horror, sometimes within a surprisingly short period. Audio contributes significantly to these transitions. Cheerful music supports the early illusion of a comfortable virtual life, while more restrained ambient sounds take over when circumstances become suspicious. The game knows when to reduce the soundtrack and allow environmental noises or silence to create tension. Sudden changes in sound can make otherwise ordinary locations feel dangerous without requiring an immediate visual scare. Combined with the expressive character presentation, the audio design helps give Mita and the surrounding world a strong personality. Players should not mistake the cute anime presentation for family-friendly content. MiSide eventually deals with graphic and disturbing subject matter, including violence, blood, corpses, dismemberment, murder, and psychologically uncomfortable situations. Its horror is not limited to jump scares. Much of the tension comes from manipulation, confinement, uncertainty, and the feeling that the protagonist has entered a world whose rules he does not fully understand. A censorship option can reduce certain graphic elements, but the underlying themes remain intentionally dark. The biggest weakness is that players looking for mechanically complex gameplay may find the experience relatively guided. Exploration and puzzles are generally accessible, and much of the progression depends on following the intended narrative path. The game places atmosphere and storytelling ahead of mechanical difficulty. Its strongest surprises are naturally most effective during a first playthrough, since knowing the major twists reduces some of the mystery. Even so, the unusual environments, optional discoveries, character interactions, and sheer personality of the presentation provide reasons to revisit particular sections. Steam Deck compatibility is officially categorized as Playable rather than fully Verified. Performance with the default graphics configuration is considered suitable, and the game can run successfully on SteamOS. However, handheld players should expect compromises. Some functionality is not fully accessible through the default controller configuration, touchscreen interaction or a community controller layout may occasionally be useful, and text entry can require manually opening the virtual keyboard. Some interface text may also appear small, while certain prompts can display keyboard, mouse, or non-Steam Deck controller icons. It is therefore functional on the Deck, but the experience is less seamless than a fully optimized handheld release. MiSide ultimately succeeds because it understands that horror becomes more effective when players are first given something comfortable to trust. Its anime aesthetics, seemingly affectionate companion, playful activities, and colorful environments establish that trust before the story steadily undermines it. The result is a memorable mixture of psychological horror, puzzle adventure, surreal storytelling, and dark comedy that feels considerably more inventive than its straightforward opening suggests. It may not satisfy players searching for deep combat or open-ended systems, but anyone interested in atmospheric, character-driven horror should find plenty to appreciate. Rating: 9/10
