The Forza Horizon series is particularly special to me due to the fact that I spent hours and hours into FH1 on the 360 with my father, and I believe FH6 is what the developers got the most things right ever since. One of my main complaints about FH5 was that the whole map was a big desert (figuratively and literally) and it often felt empty. FH6 has Tokyo City, Nangan Space Port, the Japanese Alps (with a distant and beautiful view of Mt.Fuji), small towns around the map, and let's not forget the gigantic Loop Highway and the Tokyo Expressway. And what's more interesting is that I no longer feel that sense of emptiness, maybe now that the places are more coupled it now highlights online players coming and going much better. Sure, there are still some very empty places around the map, but that's pretty much every open world game for you nowadays. I like how they separated the main progression of the game in two separate branches: Horizon Festival and Discover Japan. Horizon Festival is your standard racing events, but Discover Japan is about the local Japanese scene and exploring in which I had tons of fun, especially when unlocking my beloved Mazda 787B. FH6 also brings the awesome Japan-exclusive Touge events! All that 1v1 mountain pass racing really brings you to that whole Initial D vibe that I love (and in a sense, also reminded me of the good ol' NFS Carbon Canyon Duels...). However, I must note that they missed a huge opportunity in making an alternate event for the mountain races, instead of regular racing there could also be drift competitions like in Need For Speed Underground 2. Just picture every racer drifting and trying to score the most points, that would have been so cool. For the gameplay itself, it hasn't changed a lot from FH5. Mostly realistic racing, albeit the tuning in this game IS WILD. You can make Pickup trucks, the AE86 and even a PEEL P50 reach 400+ km/h speed, that's the kind of broken fun that I truly don't mind. Speaking of speed, man the PR stunts in this game are fun. Especially the Danger Zone signs since this is the most vertical map up to date, I genuinely was holding on to my seat after falling from such a huge height and seeing the whole map before my eyes. That ♥♥♥♥ feels genuinely amazing. The races, though... The AI in this game is HARD, dude. I had a much easier time competing against actual humans than AI on Expert. I read somewhere that they're broken, it's like they attain speeds that normally you wouldn't be able to, while at the same time executing perfect turns. Unless the AI is bowie knife99, in that case he's just gonna ram into you. But it still felt like a fun challenge to me, just sometimes frustrating having to restart over and over. FUNNILY ENOUGH, cross country and dirt racing were piss easy to me, I suppose the AI doesn't adapt itself as good as it does on the road. Online play is... well... What you'd expect. Players constantly crashing into one another. They tried their best in making it a smoother experience: You cannot hit an opponent at full speed, there's a speed penalty if you abuse the collisions to make sharp turns, and at the race start all players are ghosts for a few seconds so there is no immediate griefing. Also playing online with manual shifring wasn't all that bad honestly, was expecting much worse. In FH5 each and every single level up gave you a wheel spin, and while that fires up your dopamine fried brain... I felt like I was getting way too many supercars and once I got what I wanted I dropped the game because I felt like there wasn't much to do. This time, they nerfed that and wheelspins come from specific missions and vehicle skill trees, while making the barn finds and mission vehicles much better than the previous entry. I LOVE that, it makes wheelspins feel more valuable, less annoying, and treasure cars much more satisfying to find as well. Now, for the things that I don't like about the game. First, the story is extremely bland. Sure, it is not my main focus on a racing game, but man... FH1 had something of a storyline there, climbing up the ranks until a final duel against Darius Flynt. Arcade Racing games of the 2000s and early 2010s had satisfying storylines, epic showdowns like the Blacklist from NFS:MW. Nowadays I don't really see that anymore, not even in the Touge battles you see any sort of rivalry. Huge missed opportunity. Man, picture Tokyo Drift, epic showdown between Sean and DK, Wild Speed. An inspired storyline would have been PERFECT. But I guess they just wanted to play safe, well... At least they got the '67 Mustang Fastback as a drifting car in the game (my favorite car, okay). The Goliath race is a good final challenge for the player, but I don't feel any sort of rivalry against a track... It's missing that satisfaction. Second, I feel like the Horizon Playlist is an interesting way to keep players after they've seen most of the game to earn more cars, but... I feel like there should be more, you know? It feels like there could have been a new mode or something for me to try since it released, but I still haven't seen anything of the sort. And lastly, the radio. That's mostly subjective, there are some bangers from YOASOBI (Idol) and ADO (New Genesis), but the rest... Meh. It is not enough for me to not just mute the radio and put my own Spotify playlist in the background. All in all, this is a great game with lots of things to do, definitely my go-to modern racing game. Just wish they went on a less safe direction and more into a wild fun arcade racing game from back in the days.

-♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing -More customisation for characters and homes than the cars -Lack of end-game content -Legend Island is disappointing (the circuit is ok I guess) -Raku Raku Delivery -Festival Playlist (I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE FOMO) -Had price caps in Auction House and decided to remove them for some reason (every "rare" car now costs 20 mil ) -Incredibly low credit payouts to make the game as grindy as possible (and to encourage people to spend money on car vouchers) -Online racing is still torture After obtaining the Gold Wristband, this game boils down to playing for 1-2 hours once a week to complete the Festival Playlist. This is a gacha game that takes up 155gb of storage. The only good thing about this game is the map.

It's fun, sure. The same fun I've been playing for 7 years, and two games ago. You pay for an updated map. That's it. Same features, same game modes, same repetition. I need to stop falling for it.

It’s basically Forza Horizon 5 with a new map. Sure, the map is beautiful, and the physics are amazing and genuinely fun to drive with, but those are pretty much the only good things about this game. Downsides oh, and there are A LOT of them Cringy AI slop dialogue: The dialogue is so cringy, forced, and unbearable that I literally had to go into the options menu and mute the dialogue just to get through it. It completely kills the immersion and makes some parts of the game feel like a bad AI generated script. Unskippable cutscenes: You can’t skip the cutscenes, so you’re forced to sit through them over and over. Apparently, because they spent money making flashy, Hollywood style scenes, you’re supposed to watch them whether you like it or not. Worthless delivery missions: Who thought driving through Tokyo delivering food was a good idea in a Forza game? These missions feel completely pointless and tedious. I bought a racing game to race, not to spend my time doing glorified food deliveries around the city. They add nothing meaningful to the experience and just feel like a waste of time. Character customization over actual car customization: Want to customize your car? Naaah, apparently there’s something much more important to customize, your character. You get billions of clothing options and random accessories for a character you barely even see because they’re sitting inside a car 99% of the time. At the end of the day, Forza Horizon 6 feels less like a proper sequel and more like Forza Horizon 5 with a new map, a bunch of unnecessary distractions, and more forced content. The driving itself is great, but everything surrounding it makes the game feel unnecessarily bloated and tedious. Honestly, this is going to be my last Forza title. I’m done giving them my money until they get their sh*t together and remember how to make a racing game that’s actually fun and enjoyable. Maybe instead of adding more pointless filler, forced dialogue, and things nobody asked for, they could focus on making the damn game enjoyable to play. Until then, I’ll happily sit this series out.

They were banning livery creators. Now they’re even banning people who just use them. Stop this buIIshit, fix the game, and add some actually new content.

Please ignore time spent in game. I really wanted to love this game, I truly did. But there are many aspects about this game that I despise that will prevent me from ever purchasing another installment unless massive changes are made into this series. The good: - Map is definitely the best, and is incredibly beautiful and fun to drive in. - Car handling is a slight improvement from 5, but I wish they had made RWD more competitive. The bad: - The save/synch bug is incredibly bad and it is a total joke that they haven't fixed this yet. I lost hundreds of photos, liveries, and tunes because they insist on using the god awful Microsoft cloud. - I am so sick and tired of the live service aspect. You are still forced to play weekly event after weekly event to acquire newly added cars, and this is a pure FOMO tactic to make it look like there are an inflated number of players every Thursday. IF I HAVE TO DO ANOTHER CROSS COUNTRY UNLIMITED BUGGY RACE, I WILL LOSE MY MIND - I never enjoyed playground games that much, but they were at least a lot more fun than eliminator. These people somehow think that every game needs some stupid ******* battle royale mode. It's honestly incredible that this mode made it into this map, it is incredibly awful. - We were promised more customization options, and this has absolutely not happened. Some examples of Forza aero on certain car models, are in fact, somehow worse. How is it that GT7 has an impressive car roster (slightly smaller), but they at least offer much more grounded options for each car that don't butcher the appearance? - Who was the galaxy brain behind that awful and grindy food delivery mode ? I don't necessarily hate the idea of the mode, but the execution was awful and is the second most unfun thing I've ever done in a racing game behind only the eliminator. - Why are there so many cross country races, and buggy races, for a game that is located in Japan? Where are the togue races? Where are the street races? I find it incredible how they thought a simple copy/paste from the past 2 games was sufficient. - What ever happened to utilizing car meets? Nobody ever uses them, we can't walk around and explore other peoples' cars, I just don't get why this was advertised. It is so disappointing that they haven't found a solution to making this an actual feature. - Dev team has been incredibly radio silent compared to previous generations. Maybe this has to do the higher ups at Microsoft, but there has been literally zero community involvement or communication since release. - Nobody wants a ridiculous Lego or Hot Wheels expansion. Give us 2 expansions that are grounded and are part of the base map. Stop doing the same basic format over and over and over again. - The car pass feels like a complete rip off in some ways. Including cars from past games, and then charging for said cars, feels very very scummy. Especially since we cannot see ahead of time which cars will be included.

PLEASE IGNORE THE HOURS SPENT AND READ THE REVIEW. I BEG YOU, IT IS IMPORTANT! I would first like to say that I enjoyed both FH4 and FH5. FH5 felt a bit grindy, but hey, it was still worth it. But FH6? THE DEVS ACTUALLY WANT TO MAKE YOU GRIND ENDLESSLY. THIS GAME EXISTS ONLY TO SELL YOU CAR VOUCHERS. THE DEVELOPERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT US. They basically took FH5, slapped a new map and a couple new cars and called it a day. It's the same game, they actually made the AI worse somehow. And while the map is beautiful, and it might trick you into playing for a few hours, you'll soon find how broken the economy is. How cars are locked behind Wheelspins. How little credits you get vs the amount you would need to buy cars and/or tune them. And how when you finally get credits (in-game currency) to buy a car you'll always get an option to buy car vouchers just below the buy button (cause, ya know, they're helping us save time by not having to grind *wink* *wink*). They've nerfed every single way to make credits in the game, be it by playing normally or cheesing the game. The economy is so broken interwar German economy looks better and healthier than whatever is going on in this game. They've ruined the economy, and they are actually ruining the game one update at a time, and the community seems to get more and more fed up as time passes (there's still a group of bootlickers but they seem to decrease in size as time goes on). I hope the a-hole in charge of all those decisions sleeps well, 'cause if he doesn't then it was all for nothing. My biggest takeaway from this game is that Playground HATE fun. There is no fun allowed in this game. They would rather burden you with microtransactions than fix multiplayer, ban cheaters, fix the economy or do anything actually useful. Congratulation, Playground, I hope for your sake it was worth it. I was really looking forward to Fable but now I'm actively discouraging everybody I can from purchasing ANY of your games, you guys don't care about making games fun to play, you just want to pump up the numbers on Game Pass and shove microtransactions down people's throats. Shameful behaviour, Playground. Shameful!

EDIT 8/12/26: Well, ♥♥♥♥ these devs and their game. Actively silencing criticism, deleting posts with no warning, then banning people for calling it all out and being justifiably angry, saying they're being "rude". Devs also can't respect user's wishes, commenting on posts with locked comments with the same reply they gave elsewhere, AFTER being told no, we would not be re posting to their proprietary feedback site that runs on popularity contest rules. And we as consumers have little to no recourse for any of it. ♥♥♥♥ Forza, and ♥♥♥♥ Turn10/Playground. I wish I could give this a positive review, but I can't. The game is fun, don't get me wrong. But Forza Horizon 6 is, from top to bottom, a copy-paste cash grab. Large portions of the game, from both UI/UX to gameplay to visuals, are identical or near to identical as Forza Horizon *3*, a game that released in 2016. And thus it's no surprise that when driving around, especially in Tokyo, everything just feels bland and flat. Which for one of the most vibrant cities on the planet is almost an actual crime. Corrugated walls that should at minimum have lighting tricks applied, if not be properly fully modeled, are instead flat textures on flat models, without any lighting gimmicks other than simple shadows applied. Transitions between pavement and non pavement surfaces are clean, hard edges, the kind of texture transitions you'd see in the freaking *2000s*. Think about that. A game renowned for it's visual fidelity is using graphical standards from legitimately 25 years ago. I was TWELVE when this was the standard. The cars don't even look THAT good, when comparing to other racing games. Asetto Corsa for example. iRacing. Automoblista 2. And given the pretty cars and their prettiness is one of the main selling points of the Forza series.... And somehow the game doesn't run smooth, despite needing so much in the way of graphical resources, while looking somehow worse than RDR2, a game that is 7-8 years old. Games like Subnautica 2, Black Flag Resynced, Halo Campaign Evolved, all look better, run smoother, and don't require me to turn settings down like in FH6. Granted, it's only 3 settings, and each only gets turned down one notch, but that's also helping to prove my point given which settings they are: both Ray Tracing options as well as Shaders. Turning each down one level from full has negligible impact on actual visual fidelity or overall look, but has MASSIVE impact on performance. That doesn't really make sense by itself, but given that in no other modern game with a reputation for intense visuals, do I have to adjust ANY settings, and it all runs butter smooth... FH6 is also the first and only game I've had to fiddle with anything in the Nvidia Control App to get it to run smooth, and it took a LOT of fiddling (partially because the devs would release 'fixes' that broke more than they fixed). Then add that the devs intentionally made a broken in game economy, forcing players to resort to exploit farms to make the game feel properly rewarding, then nerfed those exploits to the point it affected the base economy and requiring an overhaul of the base payout system (that didn't really help much, just restored the old status quo), all the while putting out 'performance patches' that made the game run worse, still unwilling or unable to address the accuracy of challenge goals (eg. "Complete a Spec Race" actually requiring a win, not just a finish). Pre rendered cutscenes are locked to 30fps. Just....why? In 2026, legitimately, BLOODY WHY is this still a thing??? Sure there may not be a lot of them and they're all pretty short but a) it's still just so jarring to go from 30 to 60, especially when some of the cutscenes are directed to be transitions between the scene and driving b) just...there's no excuse in 2026. 60fps has been the standard for so long, even consoles are capable of it now. Just....why? Simply put, the game from top to bottom is lazy, partially broken, frustrating, prioritized/optimized for consoles from 2 generations ago, and ill-managed; and it seems clear at this point the Forza Horizon series is going to die a very slow death if they keep on this path. At least the actual driving is fun?

DO NOT BUY - Devs dropped GPU support after release, game is now broken. It was a decent game, but the latest update completely ruined it. The developers officially dropped support for older GPU architectures post-launch. Now, the game is completely unplayable. It crashes every 5 minutes with error code FHC11. I am completely locked out of a product I paid for, and Steam refuses to issue a refund because of my playtime. The developers literally stole $120 from me by changing the system requirements after taking my money. Absolute robbery. Avoid this company. I will never buy another product from Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios again. Everyone should boycott this game and these developers.

New game, same old problems. FH6 had a strong launch and many of us players were hoping for a fresh start in this series. But now months after release, it’s clear the studio fell back to its old habits 1) Festival playlists make an unwelcome return. While the first series was great, the later ones have devs once again drip feeding recycled cars from previous titles as “new”. Completing the playlist is already a chore, even more so for recycled cars 2) Severe lack of content or abundance of wrong content. The beginning starts off strong tricking players into thinking this game offers more than it actually does. As you progress, that’s when the lack of content becomes apparent. Fewer cars, few customization options, repetitive missions, only 2 road races in Tokyo City, too many offroad events IN JAPAN (and with Horizon’s notoriously bad offroad physics), etc. 3) The reward system is even worse than previous titles. Low payouts for races and reliance on wheelspins has always been an issue in the series. But this time FH6 gives less wheelspins than any of the previous titles, yet the number of wheelspin exclusive rewards stay the same making the game artificially grindy. Endlessly slogging away at the boring playlists only to walk away with pocket change and a legendary horn is insulting to the player’s time. Other complaints: They added recycled cars to the car pass The writing and voice acting feels like it was done by an HR department. Then to really rub it in, they make cutscenes unskippable and they literally WOULD NOT STOP YAPPING the entire story mission. Rammers are still prevalent online. Raku-Raku. I've worked real life jobs more enjoyable than this mission. Besides the opening race, Legend Island was pretty underwhelming. Car meets are dead The AI still cheats, and it doesn't get more blatant than in The Colossus. (Spoiler warning i guess???) The course is literally just the entire highway loop leaving few places to overtake, so it's down to the car. But since the AI can achieve top speeds and downforce impossible to the player, it's very difficult to win without cheesing the race. (In fairness, they did nerf the AI) -- Tl;dr: FH6 is just FH5 with a new coat of paint and the same issues. Imo, wait for a steam sale Edit: Fixed some grammar and added more details

Forza Horizon 6 - 9/10

Game set in Japan. Bans Itasha designs, a niche staple of Japanese car culture. First big events have been focused on non Japanese cars. Always the same few races for weekly seasonal events. Avoid this game. It doesn't deserve your time or money.

Q: Does this game have an enjoyable singleplayer? A: Once you've completed all events and collected all collectibles that's it and after that it's just waiting for weekly content that you can finish within an hour of gameplay. You can replay the content as much as you want but the AI is so inconsistent that playing on Unbeatable AI makes the game too hard (obviously) but lowering it down to Pro makes it too easy. Q: Is the single player story good? A: There's a story and that's pretty much it. It's not good, in fact the story is there for the sake of being there. The voice acting in this game is boring and the voice actors sound monotonous and the delivery is dull. It feels like the writing team asked Copilot to draft a story for their game and auditioned the voice actors and used those audition in the final game as the in-game dialogue. Q: Is the multiplayer fun? A: If you're definition of fun is playing against cheaters, rammers, and generally toxic drivers, you don't need this game you need therapy. Multiplayer is so whack, there's no moderation system for rammers, penalties are applied randomly during race, cheaters are there but it takes a long time for the system to ban these cheaters if they even get banned in the first place. Q: Is racing in this game fun? A: A solid NO mainly because the collision system seems to be a mere suggestion. Getting too close to the wall a centimeter or 2 WILL still clip you and put you on a dead stop. If you're playing on multiplayer there's also a slow down penalty applied to you due to the wall riding that you did not commit. Q: Is the car customization good? A: No, there's barely any bodykits to customize your cars and most of these bodykits are from the previous games. Other than that you can upgrade your cars mostly for performance which unlocks specific tuning i.e., gear ratios, tire setup, suspension, aerodynamics JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS GAMES. Conclusion: Forza Horizon 6 does not add innovative to the racing genre. It does improve on some things but hilariously fails at the basic such as game mechanics, penalty system, and fair multiplayer. I don't recommend this game to any gamers who've already played the previous games and especially to those who are trying Forza for the first time. Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition is way more value for your money and you can buy it at almost a quarter of the price of this ♥♥♥♥ game.
