500+ hours on PS4. 78 hours on Steam. More than 20 playthroughs. Some casual, some challenge runs, some speedruns. Far Cry 5 is one of those rare games that I never really stopped coming back to. A lot of people talk about Joseph Seed when discussing Far Cry 5, and for good reason, but what keeps me returning isn't just the villains. It's Hope County itself. Ubisoft created one of the most memorable open worlds I've ever explored. The forests, rivers, mountains, farms, backroads, and small towns make Hope County feel like a real place rather than just another open-world map. Even after dozens of playthroughs, I still find myself wandering off to hunt, fish, fly around in a plane, or simply drive through the countryside listening to the radio. The setting remains one of the strongest parts of the game. The gameplay is classic Far Cry at its best. It's chaotic, unpredictable, and sometimes completely ridiculous. One minute you're quietly clearing an outpost, the next you're being attacked by a bear while a cult convoy crashes into a fuel truck and your companion somehow turns the entire situation into a war crime. Those unscripted moments never get old. The hunting and fishing deserve more credit, too. They're simple mechanics, but they fit perfectly into the atmosphere. Some of my favorite memories aren't story missions at all—they're just spending time in the wilderness, fishing by a lake or tracking animals through the woods before heading back to fight cultists. Speaking of the cult, Project at Eden's Gate is still one of my favorite factions in gaming. The Seeds are memorable, but what really stands out is how believable the cult feels. The sermons, the propaganda, the music, and the constant presence of Eden's Gate throughout the county create an atmosphere that few games manage to achieve. Hope County genuinely feels occupied. The cult isn't just an enemy faction; it's part of the world's identity. And then there's the music. "We Will Rise Again" and "Help Me Faith" are still among my favorite tracks in any video game soundtrack. The cult choir songs are beautiful, unsettling, and strangely catchy at the same time. Years later, I still find myself listening to them outside the game. Very few soundtracks become this closely tied to a game's identity, but Far Cry 5's absolutely does. Is the game perfect? No. Some story moments can be frustrating, and the forced captures are still controversial. But despite its flaws, Far Cry 5 has something that many technically better games don't: a personality that sticks with you. I've played through it more than 20 times, and every time I leave Hope County, I eventually find myself coming back. For me, that's the highest compliment I can give a game. 9.5/10 Only You...

Great game. The most fun I had with the Far Cry series. I like the plot, the locations are beautiful, the gunplay and driving feel just right. And it runs surprisingly well on my low-end PC. Why the negative review? Ubisoft Connect. I honestly can't leave a positive view to any game with that piece of сrар included. Why on earth would you make so much trouble for the people that BOUGHT the fиcking game? It constantly creates problems with connection, synchronisation, and like 50% of the time you can't even open the game on the first try. It is horrible and I genuinely and wholeheartedly hate it. The game is awesome though. If you don't care for the achievements and convenienсe of Steam Library - just go get it in the "frее stоrе".

Ubisoft are scam artists and frauds. I purchased Far Cry 5 in 2018, preordered the gold edition and everything. I am now completely and utterly unable to play this game AT ALL. Ubisoft decided to permanently disable and then delete my Ubisoft account (completely without my knowledge OR permission) that was linked to this game, and my other Ubisoft PC games, and they refuse to help out at all. I have a $90 game with 87 hours of gameplay, that Ubisoft won't even let me play. I don't know how this is legal, but I hope their company goes under. F*** Ubisoft, don't give them your money anymore. Apparently they have the power to delete your account whenever they feel like it and run off with your money.

There’s just something about Far Cry 5 that makes it stand out from the rest of the series. Hope County is easily my favorite. The Montana countryside, forests, rivers, mountains and small towns create an atmosphere that I could honestly spend hours just exploring. The world feels alive and beautiful. But the biggest strength for me is the characters. Joseph Seed and his family are some of the most memorable characters in the entire Far Cry series, and every region has its own atmosphere and personality. The story kept me interested from beginning to end, and I especially love how the game slowly reveals more about the cult and leaders. And then there’s the music. The cult songs, radio stations and the different musical styles of each region make game so good!!! Some of the songs have been stuck in my head long after finishing the game. The gameplay is also exactly what I want from Far Cry: a huge open world, lots of freedom, exploration, vehicles, companions, outposts and plenty of things to do without constantly forcing you down one path. Far Cry 3 and 4 are classics, and I enjoyed Far Cry 6 too, but Far Cry 5 is simply my favorite. characters, story, atmosphere and music all come together in a way that no other Far Cry game has managed to replicate for me. Easily my #1 Far Cry.

★★★★☆https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3711541977

Verdict: This is, without exaggeration, one of the finest video games that has ever had the distinguished privilege of occupying my drive. The main story is thoroughly captivating, whilst the Arcade mode is an inexhaustible fountain of amusement. Together, they form a concoction so delightfully engaging that setting the game aside becomes an act of immense personal sacrifice. Acquiring the complete edition, accompanied by all the downloadable expansions, is an expenditure that shall yield returns far greater than many of life's allegedly sensible investments. Story & Characters: The narrative is, to my considerable delight, remarkably captivating. The true stars of this theatrical production are, of course, the alleged villains. Although, after a modest amount of contemplation, one is compelled to inquire whether they are villains at all. Each sibling possesses a distinct personality, an unmistakable aura, and governs their respective region with a flair that is impossible to ignore. Curiously, I found myself possessing almost no enthusiasm for my supposed allies. Instead, I was eagerly anticipating my next audience with the Seed family. I wished not to engage them in combat, but rather to request a comfortable chair, a respectable cup of tea, and allow them to continue their delightfully unhinged philosophical discourse. They are simply fascinating individuals. My allies, on the other hand, exhibit all the charisma of damp parchment. In fact, I refer specifically to that unfortunate gentleman whom one is compelled to dispatch after the villian starts serenading the room with Only You. Upon this rather abrupt and musically inclined encounter, I found myself not only startled by the circumstances, but also mildly perplexed as to his identity. The game had introduced him so many hours earlier that his existence had been thoroughly evicted from my memory, rendering the entire affair less a tragic moment and more an exercise in confused recollection. Now we arrive at a matter of the utmost scholarly importance. Miss Faith. I would like the official record to reflect that I would enthusiastically SMASH Miss Faith on any day ending in the letter Y. Frankly, I comprehend with alarming clarity why so many individuals willingly surrendered themselves to Bliss. Had she invited me to partake, my resistance would have lasted approximately three and a half seconds before dissolving into botanical scented hallucinogenic enthusiasm. Whooweee! Missions, Allies, Map & Arcade: The missions presented herein constitute some of the finest interactive assignments I have had the pleasure of undertaking. Each one unfolds within an intriguing location, accompanied by thoughtful level design and an admirable capacity to consume one's attention for hours on end. A particular triumph is the collection of Prepper Stash missions, which are, in essence, delightful little puzzles that reward one's intellect with an almost embarrassingly generous quantity of valuable loot. I became so enamoured with these diversions that I felt an irresistible obligation to complete every single one. Such an obligation was, naturally, fulfilled. The companion system is another rather splendid addition. One may recruit two artificial companions to accompany one's adventures, and I elected to travel with Jess and the distinguished canine gentleman known as Boomer. Their mutual appreciation for stealth aligned perfectly with my own refined tastes, for stealth is unquestionably the most elegant and rewarding manner in which this game ought to be experienced. Jess deserves particular commendation. She frequently remarks upon nearby locations, recently encountered individuals, or the wildlife one has thoughtfully identified, lending the world an unexpectedly immersive quality. Her observations often feel natural and delightfully contextual. Regrettably, during extended journeys she occasionally begins vocalising thoughts of such bewildering triviality that one is left questioning whether prolonged exposure to Montana's fresh air has adversely affected her faculties. I have yet to use the remaining companions, although Hurk continues his proud tradition of possessing approximately the same quantity of intellectual substance as a decorative sack of fecal matter. Some traditions, it seems, transcend individual titles. Whenever presented with the opportunity, I elected to proceed with the utmost stealth. Hunting cultists across the countryside is an activity of extraordinary satisfaction, particularly when one imposes delightfully unnecessary restrictions upon oneself. On one occasion I liberated an outpost armed solely with a pistol. On another, only a sniper rifle. Sometimes merely an assault rifle. Occasionally nothing more than a pistol and a collection of aggressively persuasive takedowns. None of this was required. Every bit of it was immensely entertaining. The outposts themselves deserve abundant praise. Rather than presenting the same monotonous assortment of jungle encampments that Ubish!t appears to contractually obligated to provide, each location possesses its own identity, architecture, and tactical considerations. One may find oneself infiltrating farms, churches, lumber mills, marinas, airfields, or any number of equally fascinating locales. Every establishment is generously decorated with notes, answering machines, journals, and assorted fragments of environmental storytelling that reward those possessing the rare virtue of curiosity. The transformation following liberation is equally gratifying. During cult occupation, each outpost is adorned with all manner of unsettling Bliss related paraphernalia and other deeply questionable interior decorating decisions. Once reclaimed, the Resistance promptly removes this decorative fecal matter and restores the premises to a far more civilised condition. The accompanying liberation cinematic remains one of the most satisfying little rewards in the entire game, shamelessly congratulating me for my heroics. I accepted these congratulations with the humility one would expect from a man who had just single handedly reclaimed an enemy stronghold. Another decision worthy of enthusiastic applause concerns the world map. Rather than assaulting one's retinas with the customary avalanche of Ubish!t map icons before the tutorial has even concluded, Far Cry 5 has the decency to permit discovery. One uncovers locations through exploration, by acquiring maps, or through the positively revolutionary act of conversing with other human beings. Residents of liberated outposts happily point you towards interesting characters, side quests, and hidden locations, allowing progression to emerge naturally instead of resembling an administrative spreadsheet with firearms. A concept both novel and refreshing. Finally, there is Arcade. Good heavens. The Solo Arcade maps are so absurdly magnificent that they elevate the entire package into another realm altogether. The craftsmanship displayed by many of these creations borders upon wizardry. I have already ventured through a respectable assortment of them, and each has been an absolute delight to explore. Some of these community creations are so visually exquisite that I found myself wondering whether the principal campaign had been quietly outsourcing its architecture to a less talented cousin. The Arcade alone adds a frankly indecent quantity of value to an already exceptional game.

Best Far Cry game, don't listen to nostalgia nerds. It has some unnecessarily hard missions but the story/setting is so good. Just play this one instead of others. All games in the series are mechanically the same, this one has the best atmosphere.

this is the best Far Cry game (BY FAR). it's super fun, once you pick this game up you can't put it down. the only thing that can be said about the story is that sometimes the missions feel repetitive. if you're gonna pick this for co-op gameplay, 100% recommended.

Would you pick Montana as a destination for your next vacation ? Probably not. Far Cry 5 knows this, and offers to take you there without actually leaving your house ! Why not seize the opportunity and go explore the state's verdant and mountainous hills, immerse yourself in its nature to meet its fauna, and maybe take down a little cult while you're there ? If you do love nature and casual strolls among the trees, Far Cry 5 may be the game for you. Beyond the gorgeous sights it offers, your playground will contain everything you'd expect from a holiday in the mountains : from lakes and rivers to mysterious abandoned cabins and ziplines, there's fun to be had everywhere ! Pilot a helicopter or a plane, jump out and open your wingsuit or your parachute : even the skies are yours ! Once you land, other activities become available. Hunting, fishing, running away from bears... There are so many things to do in the beautiful wilderness of Montana ! Random events make the game feel alive, whether it's checkpoints to secure, hostages waiting for a rescue, bears attacking npcs, bears attacking other animals, bears attacking you... (yes, lots of bears in Montana). And if Far Cry 3 taught you that komodo dragons were a real menace, Far Cry 5 will make sure that you know not to mess with wolverines. Human npcs play an even bigger role than before in this one, because you can take them with you as hired guns. Travelling with a companion was never in my plans, but they turned out to be an unexpected highlight of the game ! You're likely to meet Boomer first, a very useful and discreet dog that automatically tags enemies and highlights resources around you. A little later, an old lady will be happy to part with her cat (actually a panther) that thrives in stealthy approaches. Going south, Hurk will quickly take a liking to you, and deliver some of the silliest lines you've ever heard. His rpg will prove very useful, but after he's blown himself up for the seventh time in less than an hour, maybe you'll want to hire the services of Adelaide instead ? She comes with a chopper and doesn't take no for an answer. In fact, they all have their very own personality and you're bound to find someone you like having around, which is really nice. There's no more experience system in Far Cry 5. Instead, completing various challenges (kills with specific weapons, animal hunting, fishing...) will reward you with Perk Points to improve your character. Perk points that you can also find as quest rewards or throughout the world, for a new system that works well. If Far Cry 5 plays it safe gameplay-wise, the game uses its story to provide a light, humoristic satire on the political climate. It never takes itself seriously and provides a ton of quests and activities all over Hope County : collectibles, prepper stashes, vehicle challenges, outposts... You'll need at least 50 hours to see it all, while meeting an eclectic array of characters. Among them and at the center of it all, the Seed family. Meet John, the local guy in charge of the propaganda for his church, where he promotes positivity. He'll insist on giving you a free tattoo, but he's a little pushy about it. Don't indulge him. Jacob is the older brother, and a military kind of guy. He has a powerpoint to present and basic training he wants you to go through, but you won't leave without listening to his favorite song. Over and over. And over. Their sister Faith is a lot more subtle. She'll try to persuade you that drugs are good, mmmkay ? She's the most convincing of the bunch, but her sweetness may hide a dark and tumultuous past. Joseph is the last brother, and he's got the name for the job ! Cult leader by day, smooth talker by night, he may not be as calm and ready as he looks. He'll even get more and more angry every time you kill one of his siblings... Is that really a reason to get upset, Joseph ? The weapons are one of the few things I was disappointed with : there's not enough of them. A couple of assault rifles, pistols, too many sniper rifles... The possibility to customize them is nice, but I would have liked more options. The way the enemies' detection works is also irritating. The second one of them goes "Huh ?", they all know where you are and what you ate the day before. This can make stealth frustrating, but not as much as getting captured repeatedly... Because you see, the game wants to properly introduce its main characters, so you will be kidnapped, again and again. Having to buy back your weapons and equipment a few times is slightly annoying, but 9 times ? 9 times ? It feels a little silly towards the end. When it comes to multiplayer modes, the Arcade showed promise, letting you create maps and missions all by yourself. Unfortunately, creating something that works while being engaging is a lot harder than people think, so apart from a few exceptions, there's very little worth playing. Finally, the Dlcs won't appeal to everyone. I did like the first one, "Hours of Darkness". Throwing you into the Vietnam war with a brand new map, new weapons and the objective to save your comrades while staying clear of the bombings : this one felt pretty immersive. There's no Matt Damon in "Lost on Mars", just Hurk. A little too much of Hurk, even. Tasked with getting him back together (literally), this Dlc seemed like a cool idea, but Mars isn't fun for very long and the aliens are bullet sponges. Meh... "Dead Living Zombies" brings back the character no one wanted to see ever again : Guy Marvel. As obnoxious as he was in the main game, his jokes never land and you'll be rolling your eyes at most of his lines. I did enjoy giving the seven levels of Score Attack a couple of tries, but most players probably won't bother. So if you own the Gold Edition, I'd say they're worth playing through once. But as seperate Dlcs you'd pay money for ? I don't think so. Joseph Seed is no Vaas, and Far Cry 5 doesn't reinvent the wheel... But it didn't need to ! Whoever likes the Far Cry series will enjoy Far Cry 5 and its beautiful getaway in the mountains. The game plays it safe and proposes original, albeit disappointing Dlcs, but it's still an excellent entry. A really fun 8, with everything you'd expect from a Far Cry game. Just... Watch out for the bears.

After playing Far Cry 3, 4, and 5, I must say that Far Cry 5 was my favorite additionally compared to earlier games, gunplay is much smoother and the cult storyline is another highlight it feels in realistic way, and the whole atmosphere of Hope County really pulls you in the villains especially Joseph Seed leave a strong impression. All things considered if you have played the previous Far Cry games this one seems like a good improvement in terms of gameplay. Definitely recommend it...

Far Cry 5 is one of those games where the gameplay carries the entire experience. The story revolves around a religious cult somehow taking over a huge region of the United States and completely isolating it from the outside world. Personally, I found the premise very hard to believe. Previous Far Cry games felt more grounded in their settings, whether it was a remote tropical island or an isolated mountain kingdom. A heavily armed cult controlling a massive area of the US without an effective response from the government stretches credibility far beyond what I could take seriously. That said, I don't think Far Cry 5 is really about the story. The game lets you tackle regions in any order you want, and progression is tied more to your actions in the open world than to narrative-driven missions. It often feels like the gameplay pushes the story forward rather than the other way around. Where the game truly shines is its sandbox. This is probably the most complete version of the Far Cry formula. You get all the mechanics from previous games, plus a lot of new toys to play with. Helicopters, planes, aerial combat, bombing runs, machine guns mounted on vehicles—you can approach outposts however you want. Flying in with a helicopter and turning an enemy base into chaos never gets old. The companion system is another great addition. If you're playing solo, you can recruit NPC allies with different abilities. Some provide air support, some specialize in stealth, and some are just great at causing absolute mayhem. The animal companions deserve a special mention. Bringing a bear or a cougar with you is hilarious and surprisingly effective. Watching them tear through an outpost while you sit back and enjoy the show is incredibly satisfying. The game also supports co-op, and honestly, I think that's where it would be at its best. The amount of chaos you could create with a friend sounds like an absolute blast. Overall, Far Cry 5 has a weak and often ridiculous story, but the gameplay is fantastic. If you're looking for a fun open-world shooter with tons of freedom, creative combat options, and some of the best sandbox gameplay in the series, it's easy to recommend. If you're expecting a story on the level of Far Cry 3, you'll probably be disappointed. Recommended for the gameplay, not the plot.

"Lost on Mars" - Абсолютная самоирония.

It's alright, if you like the typical ubislop gameplay loop you'll enjoy this game just because of that. Playing this a few months after Far Cry 3 is a bit dissapointing however, the story feels incredibly messy and disjointed in comparison, I found some characters fun and the voice acting was good but I just couldn't connect with it and treat it seriously like it seemingly wanted me to. The gameplay is a fair bit smoother and most of the annoying jank from 3 is gone, however I think it's a bit too simple, the enemies are mostly weaker while your character can get much stronger and carry a lot of tools for basically every situation, pretty quickly you can make a perfect loadout and nothing can stop you. Graphics look nice and it ran well, nothing to complain about, never have been to Montana or even America but they seem to have captured the area well. Biggest upside and the reason I even finished the game - you can play the entire thing start to finish with a friend. However, the coop is very undercooked and feels like a fan creation, with a little more work put into it could've been amazing, but it's just good. We had to use a mod for my friend to be able to use unlocks without doing the story missions seperately on their save file, I find that kind of thing incredibly annoying, most people DO NOT want to play through a 40 hour game twice in a row. The best moments were not the developer curated setpieces or memorable quests, but just the random ♥♥♥♥ happening in the open world, the AI in this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane and I think it's a huge positive, very often we drove instead of flying or fast travelling to our destination just to experience that insanity. Goes on sale for pretty cheap so I would recommend getting it then, but the DLC are not worth it at all.

Only You... Can Ignore the Plot Holes The visuals, atmosphere, and setting are amazing, with the game taking place in the stunning American countryside, which made me enjoy Far Cry 5 even more. The many ways to play whether with friends or AI companions, using different vehicles, engaging in gunfights make the gameplay genuinely fun. The variety of missions, vehicles, and weapons feels good to play with, and the boss fights are enjoyable as well. the core gameplay still feels solid, and the coop experience is extremely fun and often hilarious, which really improves the overall experience despite some limitations. However, the story failed to connect with me. The silent protagonist is a major issue, and forced story segments frequently break immersion, also the ending is really disappointing and feels rushed and nonsensical, which made the story even less engaging. Hunting also feels pointless compared to earlier games. I also encountered many coop bugs, with progression not counting for non-host players being one of the worst problems. Overall, this is a clear step down from Far Cry 3 and 4, and I stand by that opinion. but The game is still enjoyable, just not to the same degree as the previous Far Cry titles but i still recommend to give it a shot. 7.5/10 "Only you."

Far Cry 5 is pure open-world chaos. It’s super fun, especially when playing with friends, and messing around never really gets old. That said, missions can feel repetitive after a while, and the story/narrative isn’t very strong. Still a good time if you’re here for the gameplay.

What an Ending. So far i thought the story was okay but i really didnt see that ending coming which made it lot better. There is no good ending ffs. Far cry has the best villians hands down. Gameplay is incredibly fun, the world is stunningly beautiful and its packed with hidden details everywhere you look. The side quest and activites are very repetitive structure but the incredible level of details and unique atmosphere of each location makes them feel fresh. Even when the objective is similar, the places themselves keep it from feeling boring. My main complain is that there are way too many side charcaters and most of them are very forgettable excpet for the dog pet you get at beginning but still no emotional bondings. you couldnt care less about them. The 3 side villians had their own merits and demerits but sudden kidnapping momemts felt cheap and didnt made sense, overall, I rank this game second on this series below far cry 4 and above far cry 3. 4.5/5. Still have some side activites and fogs to clear and places to explore
