A great game… split into three very different ones I’m writing this with mixed feelings. I like the game a lot, but it often feels less like one cohesive experience and more like three different projects stitched together. For context, I’ve put in around 1300 hours, built up a stash worth about 100 million alloy, earned some rare-ish achievements, and reached Field Marshal rank in Warfare. So this isn’t a first impression — it comes from long-term play. The game really feels like a three-headed dragon: Operations, Warfare, and the Black Hawk Down campaign. Two of these share systems and assets, while the third feels like a separate idea that never fully landed. One thing that works better than expected is the “techno-magic” operator skill system. It sounds questionable, but in practice it mostly works, and seasonal balance changes have kept things relatively fair. Operations is the main mode and by far the strongest part of the game. It’s the one I would actually recommend on its own. It has a very high skill ceiling. Fights are tense, positioning matters, and success feels genuinely earned and gives a unique rush. The interaction between operators is well designed, team composition plays a real role, and the loot system is satisfying without feeling meaningless. Gunplay and weapon customization are also a highlight — weapons feel good, and there’s enough variety to keep things interesting. The game generally rewards careful, tactical play, even if more aggressive approaches still exist. Maps are solid overall and offer good variety, although the rotation can feel odd, likely due to player population. It’s also disappointing that some maps are effectively locked out of the lower difficulty mode making them prohibitive to learn. That said, there are some confusing and frustrating design choices. The difficulty naming is misleading — “easy” is not easy at all, and since most players have access to most modes, the actual difference comes down more to mechanics like time-to-kill with the permitted ammo and armor rather than player skill. There are also more serious issues. Cheating exists — not the worst in the genre, but noticeable, especially at higher "difficulty" levels. The game also strongly pushes a PvP-centric one-dimensional, “last team standing” approach, sometimes at the expense of allowing different playstyles. More experienced players occasionally drift into lower modes, which can make things rough for beginners. The biggest issue, however, is extract camping. While technically allowed, it creates consistently frustrating experiences. What makes it worse is that recent map changes — particularly the Season 9 rework of Zero Dam — seem to actively encourage it. That’s a design decision I genuinely struggle to understand, and it alone makes me hesitate when recommending the game. Warfare, on the other hand, feels like the weakest part of the package. It plays like a more chaotic, twitch-focused Battlefield-style mode. Vehicles are actually well done, and there is some environmental destruction, which adds to the spectacle. But the underlying systems don’t hold up. The scoring model encourages selfish play — players are often better off respawning immediately rather than waiting for a revive, even if that hurts the team. This leads to reckless, almost disposable suicidal gameplay where survival or team play doesn’t matter as long as the score is kept high. Most encounters come down to raw aim rather than planning, and issues like sniping from extreme distances and spawn camping are common. Spawning itself feels poorly designed, either dropping you directly into danger or placing you far from the action with nothing meaningful in between. The modes also get repetitive quickly. Attack and Defend often turns into a stalemate, while King of the Hill can feel inefficient score-wise due to time spent moving between objectives. Rotating gimmick modes are briefly entertaining but don’t hold up over time. Warfare map quality is inconsistent. Some are acceptable like the early ones and the newest season 9 map, but others suffer from poor flow, frustrating layouts, or even technical issues, like serious performance drops during large scripted events (the falling skyscrapers). The Black Hawk Down campaign feels like a missed opportunity. It actually does a great job capturing the atmosphere of older Delta Force-style campaigns — minimal HUD, grounded gunplay, and high difficulty that forces careful, methodical play. It’s a very different experience from the rest of the game, and in a good way (and yea I am old enough to remember the originals). But it’s also practically abandoned. There are very few players, making it difficult to complete, especially since it’s designed for a full squad. There’s no real replayability, which is fine for a campaign, it was made this way. What makes this particularly disappointing is the potential. A more grounded, mil-sim style full-fleshed mode without operator abilities could have attracted a completely different audience. There are players who actively avoid the main game because of the skill system, but would have played something like this. Instead, it feels like a one-off tribute that was released as a story and then left behind. Final thoughts - Operations alone makes the game worth trying - Warfare feels underdeveloped and poorly designed - Black Hawk Down had real potential but was abandoned as a single play through story campaign - Extract camping is a major issue that hurts the overall experience There’s a genuinely good game here, but it’s buried inside a fragmented one. If the developers focus their efforts and address the core problems of the different modes, this could actually become one of the best games in its genre. Right now, it’s something I enjoy — but recommend with hesitation.

The game was actually fun at launch, but like every multiplayer game nowadays, the sweats completely killed it. **Warfare** is a joke. You queue for a couple of minutes hoping to chill for a few rounds, and you either get an empty lobby or one filled with TTVs and people playing like their rent is due. At the start of every season or during events, everyone abuses tanks and armored vehicles because quests or some rare cosmetics force people into Warfare. Have fun trying to destroy one on an urban map. Then, by the end of the season, it's the complete opposite: you're in a "32v32" where there are maybe 2 or 3 real players on each team and the rest are bots. Riveting gameplay. **Operations** started off great. I played since day one, and it actually felt balanced. Then the devs decided streamer marketing was more important than the average player. Streamers got early map access, and before the update was even out, YouTube was flooded with "best loadout," "best angles," "best hiding spots," and every cheesy trick imaginable. The meta gets solved before casual players even get a chance to explore the map themselves. I've got almost 700 hours, and even I can't keep up anymore. Miss one week and you're already behind. The player base isn't big enough for proper matchmaking either, so you're constantly thrown against people who treat every raid like it's a million-dollar tournament. Since the beginning of Season 9, I almost exclusively played Easy, It was actually relaxing and enjoyable compared to Normal/Hard, but after a while it got repetitive and boring because half the lobby was bots. Random teammates are another disaster. Most fills are either toxic or completely useless. Ranked doesn't fix anything either. I quit completely at the beginning of Season 10. The game has potential, but the devs seriously need to stop copying Tarkov. The loot looks like it was copy pasted, with almost identical names, icons, and models. It doesn't make the game look inspired it makes it look like a cheap knockoff. Instead of riding on Tarkov's and Battlefield's aesthetics, they should create their own identity. Copying assets, designs, and overall presentation just makes the game feel like it's borrowing someone else's work rather than building something original. The one thing I'll give them credit for is that they keep adding content regularly and they've done a solid job dealing with cheaters. Unfortunately, none of that matters when the actual gameplay experience keeps getting worse for anyone who isn't willing to sweat 8 hours a day.

Lots of people cheating. Nothing like starting a game as a solo, and having 2 teams of 3 descend upon you immediately with pin point accuracy.

To many cheaters, not enough players to get a match started and way too many high end players hunting lower level players in easy mode!

Operations: 1500 Hour Review Delta Force itself is a good game, but I can't recommend operations with a good conscious anymore. Out of my 1500 hours, 99% of it has been in operations. I have seen it go from one of the best, most promising extraction shooters. To a high cortisol, rage inducing, sweat fest. I have been an active player in the game for a year and a half. That realization alone made me see how much time I put into this game. The game itself is still solid, if you are looking for an extraction shooter, in my opinion, it is the best on the market. If this is all you care about, then just ignore the rest of this review. Install the game and enjoy it while you can. This review is just my current thoughts/feelings towards the meta. This is not a recommendation, just a friendly you've been warned. The Meta The problem is what the game has become, not the patches, not the developers ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up. This is not to say that they have no involvement, I'm speaking purely on balance changes. No, it is the meta of the game. What I mean by this is that it has now become a "sweat fest" of a game. Players are afraid to lose currency, both rich and poor. Out of 10 games, 8/10 of those games you WILL get third partied and/or ratted on. This itself is not a new mechanic or way to play the game. It has just evolved from the well known camping of the FPS/PVP genre. If you have ever played any FPS/PVP game, you will know the pain of this. The issue in Delta Force is how common it is now. You will OFTEN get raids where you will not hear a single gun fire, a characters ability/utility (grenades etc), not even a sign of any players. A Normal difficulty Zero Dam (the most popular map) raid is 25 minutes long. You will often go 5-10 minutes without any hint of a team existing. Some raids even go 15 minutes without a single sound and the last 10 minutes is a dog fight. Other raids, you will hear a fight, but next thing you know the whole lobby is there. Delta has 6 teams load in on Zero Dam, so 3 teams on each side of the map. Somehow all 6 teams will end up on the same side of the map. I could go on forever about common situations that happen, but I think you get the idea. The community has developed and adapted a very toxic playstyle/meta that is not fun for anyone. Some would argue the winning team, but I have been on that side many times. It gets extremely exhausting over time. Losing players I have had many people that I played with quit the game. If you have ever played any MMO with the meme of seeing your friend last on 200 days ago, get used to that in Delta Force. Some will stay loyal and stick around, but 95% of the people I have played with have quit because of toxic playstyle/meta. These weren't strangers either, I would have 50 to 60 raids with these people with the average game being 20-25 mins. 20 hours of gametime together. That is enough time to get to know someone on a basic level. People don't stick around because when you hit that 2-300 hour mark in game, it gets tough. By tough, I mean just to enjoy the game. Around this time you will get comfortable with the game, actively seek fights, and just get straight punished for it. You want to PVP, you have money to. You want to fight people, but can't because you will get punished. You will lose all that money. A new generation mixed with the old. This is how EVIL is born, if you read the rest of the review you know where this is going. These are the people who kept playing after the 2-300 mark and how our great meta/playstyle is adapted. I can't blame THIS part of the player base, noobs going semi-experienced, because unfortunately this game naturally breeds this type of gameplay. I had that learning experience of losing my money and gaining it from when the game was fresh. Lots of fresh players, no set in stone meta. Just everyone having a good time fighting and dying or looting and scooting. Due to this I learned the maps, how to budget, fight, and use operator skills. I had time to learn and build up a sizable stash. Though this is my personal experience as I've seen more experienced players that have more hours than me third party/rat. I am no saint, but I don't actively go into every raid thinking "I'm going to third party hehe". These players do. Which also deters new players because they get dunked on by sweaty/more experienced players enforcing the meta. Bad solutions Delta has had events in the past to help put a band-aid on an open wound. From free kits to literal build a bear your own kit. Giving out guns/gear kits from the battle pass. Even just giving out reds you can earn from events to sell for straight alloy (in-game currency). All of that to soften the blow of losing your kits. All of this and players still choose to third party and rat. This also just flooded the market with items and crashed everything. Which isn't bad, but it just makes another situation where players end up relying on this and quitting the game when the support funds disappear. Those items also sky rocket back up when the market is desaturated again, making everything expensive again. Positives I wanted to have some positives since I do still think the game is good at its core. Gunplay: This games gunplay is absolutely amazing. It's a mix of arcade shooter and tactical. Movement: The movement feels great, it feels like you are in control of your character. It is not clunky or sluggish. Characters/Operators: There is a lot of playable operators and they are all great and unique. With more to come. Loot: I could go on forever about this, but the developers really did the BEST job on this. The rush when you get a Red(highest rarity) item will never get old. Looting players is also a great feeling after you wipe a squad. It may not seem like much, but those 4 CARRY this game so hard. All 4 of those are the core of the game, what makes the game what it is. If you enjoy a game for just the core mechanics, I think that is an amazing job done by the developers. Personal additions This is more for me to rant than anything you can skip this part as it just goes over what I stated above, just less professionally. I miss having spontaneous fights in this game. Randomly looting and finding a team. I miss engaging in a fight BECAUSE I knew I wouldn't get third, fourth, and fifth partied. Just being bent over and ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I miss the random firefights that would go off cause a guy would see you across the map and shoot at you to ♥♥♥♥ with you. Everyone is too afraid to start a fight now. It has developed into this boring, toxic meta. Where you could get 15mins in a match and not hear a single shot, but god forbid you find a team and shoot them and now you got the 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stooges coming out of the basement with their pants down ready to ♥♥♥♥ you. Not to mention if the 3 stooges show up, you might have dumb, dumber, and dumbest show up with their guns ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backwards and somehow get the final shot and win. What I am trying to get at is if you want to thrive in this game, you have to be Tweedle-dee, Tweedle-dum, and Tweedle-thumb up my ass. You are either the last to the fight or the first and already dead. If you somehow fend off all the teams, it feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic, but you aren't a pro. So most likely you won't be able to fend them off 90% of your games. I'm no pro, so I end up getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but doesn't mean you can't be. It is possible, but it is exhausting. After the 5th game of this in a row or even in a night, it is just tiring. Final Thoughts The game at its core is still good. I personally know I will get mad. Mad from getting into a lobby and either hearing nothing or saying ♥♥♥♥ the meta and starting a fight and dying to the 4th party. It is bittersweet. I love this game, but it has major flaws as of now. I hope this changes.

This game started out great, but the lack of balance is becoming impossible to ignore. The vehicle Active Defense is broken - the invulnerability period is far too long and the cooldown is way too fast, making vehicles practically invincible against C4, mines, AT4 and everything else. Anti-air combat is a joke. Skilled pilots are unkillable because Stingers can't lock onto high-altitude or far-away targets, light helis can easily dodge locked missiles, and jets move faster than the Stinger’s projectile speed (lol). Meanwhile, AA damage is negligible. To top it all off, the spawn system is a mess. You often spawn far from objectives or directly into enemy lines with zero spawn protection. There are many other issues.

Warfare Review (from an Attack/Defense perspective) Delta Force scratched the itch for massive battles that I used to get from Battlefield 3, 4, 1, and 5. Unfortunately, over time — especially during the last season — the game has become more frustrating than enjoyable. Main Issues Matchmaking I’m playing from Europe, so this may differ depending on region. Some matches are filled mostly with bots disguised as real players, often leaving only 2–4 actual players per team while the remaining 26–28 are AI. These bots also don’t get replaced by real players over time. If the lobby isn’t bot-filled, matches often start with only 10–15 players per side, which usually causes the first sector to be steamrolled before the lobby fills up a few minutes later. This doesn’t seem tied to weekday or time, although after 23:00 CEST, bot lobbies become extremely common. Operator Abilities Every season adds more operators and abilities, which sounds good in theory but hurts gameplay in practice. At this point, you are constantly being spotted, tracked through walls, stunned, damaged, or forced out of cover by gadgets and abilities. Battlefield-style games always had spotting tools and explosives, but the sheer amount of unavoidable utility now makes gameplay feel overwhelming rather than tactical. Map Pool Recently, several maps were moved into a free DLC that is not installed by default. In practice, this means you mostly rotate between the same four maps: Cracked, Trench Lines, Aftershock, and Akh Canal. Unfortunately, many of the better maps are now rarely seen: Threshold, Knife Edge, Ascension, Shafted, Trainwreck, Cyclone, Monument, and Fault. Server / Hit Registration Performance Servers occasionally suffer from lag spikes or general instability. Since the whole lobby experiences it at once, it appears to be server-side and often tied to map events. Aftershock in particular seems to have noticeably worse hit registration in later sectors, likely because of the collapsed skyscrapers and destruction effects. Hit registration can also vary wildly between matches. Sometimes you die instantly to what feels like “super bullets,” other times enemies absorb entire magazines. Since not everyone in the same lobby experiences the same issues equally, gunfights can feel inconsistent and unfair. The Good Free to play Great gunplay Large weapon variety XP tokens for weapon progression are easy to obtain through events, dailies, missions, or by playing max-level weapons Progression is not overly grindy; most weapons stop improving significantly after level 40–50 Real money is only needed for cosmetics Final Verdict Delta Force has the foundation for a genuinely great large-scale FPS, and at its best it can recreate the classic Battlefield feeling better than most modern shooters. Unfortunately, the matchmaking issues, excessive operator abilities, limited map rotation, and inconsistent server performance make the experience increasingly frustrating over time.

Game is full of cheaters due to being free, and devs don't seem to care, don't bother with this game.

Honestly, **Delta Force has a great foundation, but I think the priority right now should be fixing the game before adding more content.** Performance is one of the biggest issues for me. The stuttering, frame drops, and crashes can seriously hurt the experience, especially during intense fights. In a game where reaction time matters, these problems aren't minor inconveniences. They can directly affect the outcome of a match. The Single Player experience was also disappointing. The game had the potential to deliver something much better, but the current campaign doesn't live up to what I expected from it. As for Warfare, **cheating is the biggest problem for me**. When you die in a situation where the enemy seemingly shouldn't have known your position, you start questioning every encounter. Even when a suspicious death isn't necessarily caused by a cheater, the fact that players are constantly left wondering is already a problem. It destroys trust in the game. I genuinely think **Delta Force has the potential to be a great game**. The gunplay is fun, and there are some genuinely good ideas here. But before adding more maps, weapons, and content, I'd rather see the developers focus on: * Improving performance and reducing stuttering. * Fixing crashes and major technical issues. * Strengthening the anti-cheat and taking cheaters seriously. * Giving the Single Player experience the attention it deserves. **Fix the foundation first, then expand the game.** The problem isn't that Delta Force lacks content. The problem is that the core experience still needs to become more stable, polished, and trustworthy.

The game itself is fun, but it's their new EULA which not agreeing with is currently stopping me from playing further. They significantly changed the EULA and here's only a couple pieces of it that I find to be questionable and shows their intent: -Specifically adding Forced Arbitration and waving rights to sue or join class action suits. They added pieces of this for pretty much every region but this is the US version of it. -Also they say using their game in streams/videos is illegal but that they'll let you monetize your content only specifically if you make that money from whatever platform you have the video on via ads or donations. But if someone pays you directly for video of you playing the game, make a clip of just an in-game cutscene, or they deem your video isn't whatever they decide is transformative, they can sue you. Which is extra ironic after the first piece. Why would a big battle FPS be so concerned about being sued and also threatening to sue people at the same time? Is there some kind of AI data scraper or coin miner hidden in here? They are a subsidiary of TenCent, so what is it they are suddenly worried about, exactly? For the game itself: The good: -The huge battles with destructible terrain -Pretty large set of maps -Matches being generally hard fought -Ability to switch characters / weapons each death if you want -The point call in system for artillery etc -Some actually really cool skins for characters and weapons -Interesting character design The bad: -The main area GUI is like a predatory mobile game from 20 years ago -Something like 10 different currencies between standard ones and event ones -Many days you can tell hackers are running rampant despite reports -Main lobby has a world chat and well... you know how people in unmoderated chats will be even excluding the gold sellers
