Only get the game while it's on sale of course. I haven't played CoD multiplayer since the Black Ops 1 days, so I really can't compare this game to any of the others. If you want a mindless shooter, this is great. Guns feel good and you can customize them to make them feel better. The players ruin this game more than the devs. There's so much trash talk and ego stroking; some people clearly do it for attention. Do me a favor and don't be like them. I really recommend just avoiding all chat. I like to try and kill people with kindness and ask why they care about me being worse than them. I'm just another random loser like they are. Play the game your own way and don't let them get to you. More about the game... It's body shot galore. People SMG rush spawn or flanks half of the time. This is probably the best way to play if you want to kick butt. I see this as monotonous and sometimes abusive. Being spawn killed and trapped sucks. I really like the game despite only bringing up negatives. If I don't have to put up with this stuff, then it's a vibe. I enjoy the progression. Leveling my account then unlocking weapons and such is the main thing that hooked me. Going for camos is a nice side objective. There's so many guns, and if you care enough then leveling them and getting camos gives you so much to do. Zombies is usually great and helps with multiplayer progression, and it's a whole thing of it's own of course. I find going for headshots more satisfying, but more difficult than body shot beaming or one hitting. Getting those headshots is my preferred way to kill, and I think it should be more rewarding.

Best argument for
The most helpful review from a veteran (10+ hours at review)Best argument against
The most helpful review from a veteran (10+ hours at review)Game is full of cheaters more than ever now unfortunately but i guess that's to be expected when a new call of duty is coming out which is sad that those who bought the game just have to except it as "JUST THE WAY THINGS GO" The franchise is lost and clearly has no direction but rather panders to whatever is trending. thankfully i was able to return bo7 for a full refund. I'm done with call of duty and moving on to other games with no screaming brain rot individuals and racial slurs to others.

The things that made the Call of Duty franchise what it is today has been completely thrown out. The game is $70, but the campaign is so short that you can finish it in an afternoon. Most people buy it for the multiplayer portion, which like most games today, should be free anyway since they also sell skins and battle passes. They should invest more into the actual campaign so the value is actually $70. I have played every Call of Duty game since I was a child, so my words should not be taken lightly. The game mechanics are amazing and is overall a smooth gaming experience when it comes to the mechanics. This game is rated 17+, so there should be no reason that people get chat banned in this game when the literal characters themselves curse. Just like the vaping companies did marketing to children and young teens, these people are advertising to that same audience. They removed the bloody gore death animations, and are becoming too political. The biggest problem I think half of the player base will agree with me on is the Skill Based Match Making in public lobbies. I understand that Skill Based Match Making is and should be part of the Ranked Play playlist, but even on that playlist, you will be matched up with other bronze players at your skill level all the way up until you hit your highest rank reachable rather than being placed with bronze-skilled level players when you first start out. When you are paired with those players you do not get more "SR" for winning those matches because it is all hidden. I know Activisions only motive here is to make a profit, so the chances of them changing it is highly unlikely. So, what I would propose is that if you will not remove SBMM, then at least showcase each players hidden skill ranking so that we can compare players and that players have something to actually strive for. One of my friends was a Crimson player in MW2. When he first started Ranked play, as a bronze, he was being paired with diamond teams, which is totally unfair. 2 people who paid the same amount of money shouldn't be receiving a different experience based on their skill level. Economics is all about supply and demand, and as more people realize this issue I think it will actually hurt their pocket-book eventually. But, it will take some time before things go back to how they used to be. They champion on protecting the lower-skilled players, but even the lower-skilled players will eventually get bored of the game because of its repetitiveness. SBMM hurts the higher skilled players the most which are the driving factor to any games popularity. Its the most dedicated and loyal players who become good, some become streamers, and some are very community-active. As those players begin leaving first, the lower-skilled players will eventually follow because they are motivated by those who create the community organically. I have joked before that the only person that can save Call of Duty would be Elon Musk, but hopefully with the Acquisition by Microsoft, we can see changes take foot.

Bought the game on sale when I had a sudden urge to relive my high school days as an FPS multiplayer degenerate. Haven't played a COD game since 2015 but used to love the franchise. This...sucks...The aftermarket part of the game sucks all the enjoyment from a casual perspective, and every other screen when not in game is an advertisement for other ♥♥♥♥ I don't care about. They make it so hard to just enjoy the game. The overall gameplay isn't as snappy as I would have expected, having been away from the franchise for 9 years. I've played other games with far less budget and better mechanical elements. If you're a casual like me who used to be pretty good and want to play a solid FPS game again...choose a different one, this one aint worth the money.

Every new Call of Duty is like an orgasm, at first you're hyped, but then you realize you've just been ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you can't undo it. With every upcoming game they make the whole act of war look like a joke, focusing on selling as much skins as possible. Until the game is unplayable (which mostly takes up to half year) so they announce their new game and repeat the whole process. I remember the day when they f*cked everything up and disappointed a lot of their community. The day when they destroyed an active thriving game with lots of potential in order to sell their newly realeased pile of sh*t. And from that day on they do the same thing over and over again. Insted of fixing the bugs and providing fresh content they recycle their old games, releasing them as a new one charging even higher prices (notice how from 29.99 their prices are now 79.99) and giving even less content. The next step is adding as much as brain rotted skins as possible, filling all game with LGBTQ skins, furries, movie characters and dead memes, making the new generation so hyped to buy them... They destroyed the whole meaning of the game. How from soldiers fighting for the glory of their countries, defending it with their lives, completeing special war operations side by side, the game went to a place where not a single person is playing as a "soldier". They are everything but soldiers, they are cartoon characters running with ridiculous big animal heads, famous singers and actors holding not guns, but toys that shoot rainbows, turning KIA players into anime girls or hearts. At this point lets add constructions options and turn it into more expensive and toxic Fortnite. And WTF is a Blackcell. You're charged full price for dlc game, you're charged for Battle Pass ( it's normall ) and then you're charged for "black cell" if you want all the content from the Battle Pass. They probaably felt so smart adding it as a feature. I can't say anymore if they are a gaming studio or a business company. The whole main menu feels like casino. You enter the game after 1 hour of downloading shaders and restarting the game and the first thing that happens, the new bundles are being shoved into your face "THE NEW BUNDLE IS OUT, GET IT NOW !!!". I recommend investing your time and resources elsewhere. There are a lot more interesing games that worth your money. Grab a friend, go get Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic or Space Marine 2 and have fun. There is a lot more tactical and team building gameplay to be offered in these games than the so called "Call of Duty".

It is so sad watching these three games slowly devolve into "campaign as an afterthought" using Warzone as a base. I know I'm in the minority of people who actually play these games for the single player and not just tunneling warzone for 70 hours a week but cmon. I don't *hate* the open combat missions but you can just see the writing on the wall. Single player doesn't sell these games, its all in the live service. And the devs know they can cut corners using it in the single player. Speaking of, whos bright ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea was it to put HALF OF THE STORY of all three of these games in the Spec-Ops. I would LOOOOVE to play it but none of my friends want to play these games. You are constantly confused with the story because of things happening "off-screen" if you don't have co-op partners. I only have this many hours because I was hunting down all the achievements I could get alone. Before I played this I was actually interested in MW4 but now? Skipping if its more of this.

There are a few ways to review this game. You can look at it in a bubble where you consider only the gameplay and its content. You can look at it whilst taking into consideration that MW3 was effectively just an expansion pack for MW2 priced at a full $70. Then there's in the context of it no longer being the newest Call of Duty, a franchise all about playing the newest instalment. Finally there's whether or not you wish to consider the marketing/monetization of the game. So I'll write a brief review of each of these perspectives. In a vacuum, MW3 is amazing. The way movement and guns feel makes for a fantastic, smooth experience for those who love fast-paced shooters. It takes the best of MW19 and the improvements MW22 brought with it and expands further upon those. As a multiplayer shooter, MW3 is peak Call of Duty. The Zombies was extremely underwhelming and should not be considered as an option when you wish to purchase this game. Campaign is also mediocre. In the context of MW22, MW3 was an over-priced expansion pack. You paid full price to progress further in the same game with new maps, weapons, and some mechanics. If you already owned MW2 this could make MW3 a hard sell. If you didn't already own MW2, MW3 is a no-brainer purchase. With BO6 now being out, MW3 is still a great modern multiplayer experience with some differences not present in BO6 that make its multiplayer unique. It features far greater and more varied weapon customisation options. You can truly make your gun yours compared to BO6. But things like omni-movement and Zombies in BO6 means that BO6 is probably the superior choice, especially with both being $70. Pick it up on sale if you like. All this now considering microtransactions, it depends. If you can ignore it, it's not really a problem. If you are bothered by microtransactions and cosmetics, it's very frustrating to deal with these elements. This is up to you.

MW3 is way better than MW2! This is exactly what MW2 should have been.. Really don't understand why theirs so much hate surrounding MW3. I mean, I totally understand that it's been said that MW3 was supposed to be a paid for DLC add on of MW2.. But regardless, this game is so damn good! Great maps! Awesome guns! Kick ass gun play! So much dope content! Very buttery smooth movement and gameplay! No seriously, this game runs so much better than BO6! BO6 is the better looking game and has very good movement.. But that's about all it has going for it, really. BO6 is a broken mess!.. So many damn bugs.. This game doesn't really have any of that nonsense. Like i said, great game and will be playing MW3 for a long time. Sludgehammer did a fantastic job!

If it wasn't controversial enough that I am one of the few that actually preferred MW2022 to MW2019, then I am in the absolute minority of people who actually really enjoyed MWIII. The interesting thing is that Sledgehammer either flops or hits the landing perfectly. Their most appreciated game, Advanced Warfare, is one of my least favourite. And their worst game, is the worst in the entire series, Vanguard. Their best game, WWII, is horrifically underrated despite being the best looking COD and one of the best campaigns they ever put out. A really ironic thing is that many people feel like this game is a poor tribute to the original MW3, but ironically, Sledgehammer was the one that did the original MW3. Now, this is where my review officially will lose everyone's attention: I never liked the original MW3 and I think its by far, the most mid game in the series and its one of the few CODs I actually gave a negative review, if I recall correctly, besides Vanguard. I never liked MW3 and always found it stupid at best and boring at worst. So in terms of it holding up to the original, I already greatly prefer it. And compared to MW2019, I know it is objectively inferior, but I still enjoy *playing* it more than MW2019, with MW2022 being my favourite of the reboots. That being said, MWIII's campaign is actually... a lot of fun for me to play. Even the though the recycled map, open combat missions are kind of lame, I actually really do enjoy how its the Warzone/Multiplayer gameplay transplanted into the loop of the typical campaign. This certainly has disadvantages and advantages. The immersion of gameplay is mostly gone outside of a few crafted missions that are certainly of higher quality, but I want to emphasize this again, the gameplay is fun. Is it a cheap campaign? Yes, but the story of MWIII's development is perhaps more interesting than its actual plot. MW2022 was developed prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and as a result, late development, several plot points got the chopping block. MWIII recycles some of the missions that were meant to premiere in MW2022, this is why the stolen-missile and Shadows stuff is so significant once again. A lot of it was retooled and engineered around the more multiplayer-esque gameplay and as a result, we funny enough, have a reboot MW game that plays a lot more arcadey and floaty like the original MW trilogy. If MW2019 was a beef wellington, perfectly medium rare, then MW2022 was a slow booked beef brisket. MWIII is just boneless fried chicken with a comforting, but familiar sauce. It is in no way as high brow in the gameplay or immersion department as the first two games, but its definitely a bit more fun to play in that it isn't overweighted with slower sections. If anything, the best parts actually lean closer to a Black Ops game than MW. Especially one of the parts where you are in the Atomgrad bunker with Farah, for example. Its a somewhat mid outing with actually, a lot of high points and those highpoints were more fun than a lot of MW2019 and MW2022's ordinary missions. MWIII definitely does not have anything as incredible as the high points of the previous games, except for having actually, a pretty good plot. Many people hate the plot and I am a bit surprised as to why. A lot of it is because the missions are simply a dozen or so minutes too short and there is not enough time to cook between the cutscenes, everything is at a break neck fast pace to the benefit of the gameplay and not the story. And yet, I actually really enjoyed pretty much every cutscene and every character moment. Ghost and Soap especially have some delicious moments, building off of the dynamic they created in the last game's best mission. Makarov is a far more believable villain than ever before, but that is largely because reality has affected our perceptions of fiction in a non-linear way. We live in a world now where we know Makarov's simple, one sentence ideological extremism is actually more or less what powers entire parts of Russia's military institutions and the conflict of the East vs West title war is basically, the most simple and realistic answer: Third Worldism, Nationalism, etc. But all of it is interesting. It would be great to see the next game actually lean more into the Ultranationalists being more Eurasian Duginists rather than Wagner coded goons, as they were this time around. But ultimately, I think people asked for a grounded story but more fun gameplay, that is what they got and now no one is satisfied. Ultimately, while there is an upsetting and sad part near the end, I think its one of the most realistic outcomes to the scenario and it will absolutely fuel a raging fire that will be the inevitable MWIV. And perhaps the IV of MWIV will be a literal IV to keep this series on life support after the last Black Ops outing to be back in good health. Personally, I do not think the MW reboot series is in hospice or intensive care, its more that everyone else overreacted and called the first ambulance to the ER they could. If anything, MW is in a crisis ward with an identity crisis, it has been so thoroughly gangstalked by controversy that I doubt most people ever really sat down to just try and enjoy the game for what it is. Story aside, I actually think the gameplay of the multiplayer was a huge improvement of MW2022, which was one of my best Call of Duty MP outings. I did significantly worse than I did in MW2022 after Skill Based Matchmaking decided to permanently punish me for competency, but I overall, had more fun with MWIII than frustration. MW2022 had me be a pure sweaty, but the SBMM of MWIII was enough to humble me from the beginning and thus, I focused solely on having fun with my rise to the top ranks. My true hours are not reflected here, but my achievements speak for themselves, as the achievement progression carried over from when MWIII was parasitically attached to the larger Call of Duty client. I actually really enjoyed this game on release and still do today, not as much as I did MW2022, but even I have to admit that I was swearing far less at my TV. Its biggest sins are really just the campaign is not as meaty as it deserved to be and it left us on such a painful cliffhanger, but honestly, all the developments we got are interesting enough that I am definitely going to stay tuned for MWIV's triumphant arrival. Because regardless of whether or not MWIV is any good, we all know we are still going to buy it.

WTF is this? I was playing the OG MW trilogy, the story was mesmerizing, you can feel the emotion of the character. and this? absolute 5h1t. the campaign it just like couple hours long, and WTF is this open combat mission? idk if this an improvement or just lazy story writing. all they care is just multiplayer for microtransaction.

" Additional Notes: SSD with 102 GB available space at launch " Yeah, not really. You need 500gb+ of space avaiable to play this game AT ALL, because the CoD launcher REUIRES you to download ALL of the new content for CoD BO6 in order to even access this game. What a joke. I bought this game at launch, enjoyed it for a bit, but i am reuesting my refund now as i cannot even download the game per it's OWN, ACTUAL size requirements anymore. Wrong turn. Your company is scummy enough cash-raking the General Populace each year with a "New" release, that is devolving at best, but now you are too lazy to release these as standalone like your old Games ? GO BACK TO THE OLD FORMAT. We DON'T want CoD to be bundled into one huge software / bloatware package. Also, try and listen to the Communities advice when you release new games, and stop adding useless features such as sprint-sliding and hardcore, hyper-juice META weapons. What ever happened to queuing into a nice match of CoD for a Casual, slow, and strategy-oriented combat experience as opposed to sprin-slide jump 360ing the enemy while sweating your **** off from chugging 5 energy drinks to keep up with the absurd pace of the game ?

If you are buying this for the campaign, I genuinely would not recommend it. I enjoyed the first two reboot games (mostly 2019) and bought this one because of MW4's announcement, but my god, I did not expect the disappointment I had when the second mission of the campaign was some warzone multiplayer content injected into the single player part of the game. Don't get me wrong. It's not some inherently evil bad thing, but this kind of gameplay is something I would not expect from the same franchise that helped build the perception that videogames can be "playable movies". It's also not that the past reboot campaigns are some masterpieces of a single player fps experience, but this is just lazy. Like what the hell? This is the first COD campaign that feels like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ theme park.

Modern Warfare 3 is a game that was rushed in development after Activision decided to put a $70 price tag instead of a free dlc. I can't say much about this, but this game has improved over mw2 2022 from Infinity Ward content wise. I wouldn't play this game today if it wasn't for my friend recommendation. Thankfully I got to enjoy the game this time for the reasons I'll list below. Starting with the bad. Campaign Do not buy the game for campaign only. The campaign is very short at around 3-4 hrs, 6 hrs for completion. This story follows up mw2 2022 a year later, when Task-force 141 gets notified about Makarov and Konni (mentioned on Mw2 2022 Warzone Season 5). The game this time turns to an open world based mission like on Halo, but honestly pretty lazy to do because most of the maps were reusing assets from warzone. Having to collect scattered weapons and killstreaks around the map is alright, but there's just not that much effort compared to the og cod linear style missions. The missions aren't in depth, therefore lacks replay=ability due to no realism mode. Another issue is the writing, since sledgehammer creates unnecessary game plots involving the protagonist and antagonist. The events from mw2 2022 and mw19 seems to have been forgotten, and instead focuses on Makarov more than the other enemies. There's just too many plots that weren't used from the previous games, as well with the deaths of the characters being there for no reason. This campaign is probably the worst I've played of Cod history, and it's not worth forking $70 or even $40 just for that. You're better off playing the original modern warfare series at almost less than $40 for all 3 games. Spoilers: The fact that Ivan, who got killed by Andrei, is alive this season shows how neglected campaign mode is from Activision. You're better off watching the cut-scenes on YouTube for it. Zombies Man oh man how much they've fumbled with this one. An open world zombies mode that's explorable sounds good on paper, but this game mode got neglected hard. Honestly I got more hours on playing zombies than the other game mode, and this makes me wish that I've played more pvp. There are a lot of problems with this game mode, so I'll start with the cons. -Reusing the Warzone 3 Map. I get that Treyarch were busy on developing bo6 and all, but reusing a map meant for warzone is a bad idea for a start. Having a new map from scratch would've been an optimizing experience for the zombies mode, but instead we get the same map that's meant for 100 players. Spawn rate for mwz is 36, which is good but zombies spawn rate can be lacking in some areas. -Stash limit. Why do we need a stash limit at all?? The items that we get from exfils is quickly filled up, due to the later seasons where players can earn new schematics to craft items. Having 10 stash slot at the start wasn't enough, even currently 20 stash. Now Season 5 reloaded is announced to have 30 stash, what a joke. -Schematic crafting cooldown. WE DON'T NEED TO WAIT FROM 1 HR TO 3 DAYS TO USE THE ITEMS THAT WERE EARNED AS A REWARD. I can't say much, but Cold War zombies field and weapon upgrades is a better method than the dumb cooldown timer. This makes it feel more like a mobile game. -Story mode. I'm not going to spoil the story, but the writing is also a slop. There's nothing interesting at all, apart from 1-2 references to bo6. This story's a joke, which doesn't even compare to the previous cod zombies titles that had a great writing and character development. Story mode consists of act missions, where you would have to do a tedious but simple challenges like on dmz to progress. That's pretty much it unfortunately, as season 5 reloaded will have the final story mode for mwz. -Not adding more content from previous zombies title. They've butchered it. MWZ could've brought back iconic wonder weapons, bosses, maps, perks, and more. Instead the only new content is just craftable items, red worm boss, and the scorcher. Having little content beyond season 1 has made it boring honestly, unless you're grinding for camos. https://gamerant.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-zombies-treyarch-done/ Since Treyarch stopped developing mwz at season 3, there was not much players can do to experience new content. -Copy and Paste DMZ. This is lazy and disrespectful to the DMZ fans. Instead of having a new DMZ game mode on MW3 that takes advantage of content, Treyarch has decided to copy and paste DMZ to MWZ. This itself is lazy as ♥♥♥♥, and not even PATCHING issues from DMZ earlier. One example is limiting squad invites to 3 players, a dumb timer of 45 minutes plus 10 minute of extra time when the aether storm spreads out. Another issue is crashes and steam maintenance, since it would result on losing all of your items and gear. This was an issue at the start, however I personally didn't get any game crashes since season 3 reloaded. This was the game mode that Treyarch was forced to do by Activision instead of letting sledgehammer going creative with the DMZ mode with extra content. I'm disappointed by this game mode, heck Cold war did a better job of zombies than this. Please Treyarch, do not make an open world zombies game with poor execution. To the Pros: -Being able to use variety of weapons from MW3 and MW2. -Nice looking mastery camos that can be unlocked by playing zombies. That is pretty much it honestly lol, I just feel like MWZ is butchered by a bad executive decisions. Multiplayer I'm not usually into PvP game modes because of skill issue, but man Sledgehammer did a great job with the amount of content presented. Weekly events and such that progress towards an award makes it satisfying to play. Unlike Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer LISTENED TO THEIR COMMUNITY. My previous criticism with MW2 2022 was the amount of issues on MP that made it disengaging, such as the perks system and not patching their game. Even though this multiplayer is not the best compared to the original cod games, they still provide an engaging gameplay with various patches and new maps. The aftermarket part feature, where certain guns has their own unique 3D printed weapon part, is my favorite part. This provides more options for players to kill enemies. Sledgehammer fixing the perks and removing some of the useless ones makes it great, as it makes players not cheese around with broken kills. Looped Killstreak is a great feature that should be present to cod moving forward, as it feels more rewarding for players looking to go demon mode. It's a shame that this feature won't be present on bo6, so I'll give this game a positive for this part. The maps having a good color scheme makes this appealing, because I personally didn't like the dull colors on MW2. Movement is a big plus and kill-streaks being obtainable easily makes this game enjoyful. As much as I enjoy MP, there are issues that needs to be reevaluated. -EOMM, SBMM. Yeahhh I don't have to define this one, but having this for ranked only mode or toning it down would make the game engaging for newcomers and veterans of previous cod games. This is how they'll get player engagement most of the time, gratifying players to win and be competitive for it. -Prestige system. It sucks to be honest, when leveling up you'll get some calling cards and such. Nothing game changing though unlike the original cod games, which is why I'm thankful that BO6 will add back the classic prestige system. -Servers. Honestly the servers needs to get fixed with the amount of packet losses. It is annoying, especially distracting during a competitive match. Activision should put its money on fixing their servers instead of marketing. Overall, get this for MP only just for leveling up guns for warzone. Rebirth Island revived Warzone for me. Ran out of space to type, but yeah I definitely recommend it to play with your friends. Get it on a discount or on gamepass in August.

Played the first mission, felt like a normal call of duty game. Then the second mission started which was the sandboxed mission experience. Immediately quit. Felt like I was being brainwashed into loving the multiplayer gameplay with crates and power-ups. Do better or get out.

Worth it on sale, probably the best modern Call of duty since Modern Warfare 2019 by far, and pretty chill now that all the unemployed are on the newer CODs, and in a way the definitive modern COD. You have 40+ maps, 100+ weapons, and 100+ aftermarket parts to convert the weapons into other stuff. Unlocking the post launch content is also much easier than previous CODs, because you can just do daily challenges/win games to unlock them instead of doing whack challenges. Grinding every individual gun is also much easier, because each gun has universal attachments and about 20-30 weapon levels instead of 50+ like every other new COD. The gameplay plays like Modern Warfare 2019 with faster handling speeds basically, but it's also possible to play fast without spamming slide cancels like BO6 and BO7, meaning you can play as chill or as sweaty as you want. The maps contain all of MW2 2009's 16 launch maps, plus about 24 post launch maps which are the typical modern COD three lane maps, although they are pretty good.

An incomplete g****ge game that should have been an expansion for Modern Warfare II in 2022. Still, it's not the worst Call of Duty I've played .....after Call of Duty Black Ops 7. 1. The story in Modern Warfare III has an intriguing scenario, but it's poorly adapted into a first-person shooter that feels low-budget even compared to Call of Duty Ghosts from 2013. The Modern Warfare reboot series was meant to be a failed arch because they tried to remake the classic Modern Warfare trilogy in a Rainbow Six Siege + Battlefield 1, with characters taken from the original trilogy, like Captain Price, Soap, Ghost, Shepard and Makarov, and modified a little bit. Maybe if it had been made with a different title, with new, different characters, better mechanics, and set in the war in Ukraine, it would have been a great game. 2. Gameplay: There are some memorable missions like the one with the Reactor, Gora Dam and the infiltration of a Russian oligarch's residence that have the vibe of the atmosphere of the war in Ukraine. But the ones with the Gulag, Crash Site, Frozen Tundra and the attack on the Stadium in Verdansk feels copied from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) missions. 3. Graphics: It's the same buggy graphics engine with glitchy animations and movements from 2019 that destroy any shred of immersion. The characters that look photorealistic are soulless compared to how the characters looked in the original Call of Duty 4 from 2007. 4. Multiplayer: there's no point in bothering. What should I play? Same Zombies mod recycled from Black Ops and multiplayer with stars and animated characters as operators? Nah. 5. The Audio is fine, voice acting are enough masculine, but there are not catching phrases like the Modern Warfare original trillogy had. Music - same dupstep trash like MW 2019 and MW 2022 that make your ears bleeding. My Recommendation: I thought I took advantage of buying the game for only 38 euros instead of 70 euros, with -45%. But I still feel robbed. So avoid it at all costs even is 10 euros. Play Modern Warfare 3 from 2011 instead, which has WW3 and epic action scenes and missions in New York, Paris, London, etc., even if the graphics feel a bit dated. And if you want realistic, tactical warfare, I suggest Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 - even the stories in those games are better than what this c**p can deliver. My Rate: 3/10

⚠️ Ricochet Windows Kernel Anti-Cheat required but not listed on Store Page. Anti-Cheat driver atvi-randgri atvi-randgrid_sr only runs during game runtime ⚠️ ❗Constant Internet Connection required, including for Single Player ❗ Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023), not to be confused with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is a rough game made from the scraps of what was supposed to be a DLC for the previous entry rushed by an awful publisher to meet a yearly deadline. And oh gosh it really shows and pretty badly... Mostly. But before I talk positively about this game I must complain. Campaign HAHA WOW, bootleg Captain Price from Liverpool returns once again with his jokers from discount Task Force 141 and this just sucks. It's easily the worst Campaign in the series beating out Vanguard by far. The story and writing? Trash, like the other games in the reboot series. Stuff just happens and the stuff that happens is so comically bad I was laughing so hard it hurt at moments that are supposed to be these shocking gasp moments like how can anyone take these seriously??? As for the levels you have a strikingly great first impression with a level that's honestly really fun and engaging, it's your typical enemy infiltration into a prison mission but it's well done and executed. I'd say better than anything in the reboot series but everything instantly falls apart right after this when you get given the "Open Combat Missions". Pffffffft haahhahaha okay yeah they just slapped the Warzone maps into the campaign and called it a day. You're given this huge open area from a Warzone level (couldn't tell you which one, never played Warzone and never will.) and you're meant to play it very sneaky and stuff. No thanks I just ran through it easily without a care and died like once. After that I for the first time ever playing CoD stopped playing the campaign on Hard and set it to Recruit. Not because it's hard but because I just did not care at all, I was so bored after that and there were so many more "Open Combat Missions" I struggled to actually care. I just wanted to be done with this as soon as possible and not waste my time with it. Pure trash. If there was any CoD that shouldn't have had a campaign it should've been this rather than Black Ops 4 which could've been the game to actually tie the mess that is Black Ops 3 into the story properly. Don't buy this game for the campaign, don't even think about it even on sale. If someone gives you a copy of this for free do not install the campaign, do not think about it pretend it doesn't exist. Just like Zombies Hate. That is the only word I can use to describe how I feel about this. Hate. They took a Warzone map, shoved Zombies onto it. Added some objectives made very clearly intended for a squad making them a pain for solo and made it also an extraction shooter. I think I would genuinely prefer this wasn't included within the game at all. This modes existence actively brings down the package of the game. Especially since I don't have much else to say about this. This is such a nothing mode. Also it runs exceedingly poorly on my PC, whilst barely using the hardware. Multiplayer ... oh... ohhhhh... IT'S AMAZING! I stopped playing new CoD releases after Black Ops 4 for 5 years due to just general burnout from the series and feeling nothing but pure disappointment returning to my comfy land of Black Ops 3 until the security issues started appearing for the game. Coming back and playing the backlog of releases since then has been fairly miserable with the 4 games since then having genuinely awful map designs that are counter intuitive and only make sense if you play an objective based mode such as Domination or Hardpoint. Coming into this game I was expecting another mess of huge maps and an effectively unplayable TDM. I was... so wrong and I couldn't be happier to be wrong. There are so much content here the price of the game on sale feels completely justified. You have all the MW2 maps plus a bunch of new ones and the newer ones aren't horrible... THEY'RE FUN?! I have mostly played on the newer maps so far and honestly I have been so surprised at just how good they actually are. They're the closest they've been to pre Warzone CoD and that's a massive positive. Nothing has felt overly huge and convoluted and I have been able to actually enjoy TDM and KC again since you can actually find players! There are so many weapons it's actually insane 125 Guns and 12 Melees. And there are so many attachments for literally everything I don't think I'll get bored of this game for a very long time as I can always come back to it and I feel there will always be something new to explore, do and learn. All of the weapons I've used so far have also been enjoyable to use as well and they've all felt fairly competitive and that I'm not at a disadvantage for using something else. The gun names suck though, silly goofy fake names like we don't know what they actually are. What is this stupid stuff that's continued since MW2022? Perks have changed as well so now they're sort of combined together with other perks and it's alright. I prefer the other systems but that's only because I could make myself overpowered with 0 trade offs, so in a sense it's more balanced here as you have to think more carefully about what buffs you wish for. Sledgehammer absolutely won with this MP. Absolutely amazing. Microtransactions I feel broke looking at the store. Why is this here in a paid game and why is there so much what actually happened here? Activision your greed is way too much calm down. And on that like continuing from Vanguard there's tons of art style ruining cosmetics and brands. I still hate them but I think at this point I've become numb to it or at least it doesn't surprise me anymore. Garbage. Extras Game runs well, very nice. In MP it never really goes below 300FPS at max settings on an RX 7900XTX. The light flickering bug at FPS above 90FPS has finally been fixed so no more potential seizures. The options menu is as full of stuff that makes me extremely excited as usual with CoD. Closing Buy the game for Multiplayer, I would say at 50% off it's 100% worth it for the amount of content you'll be getting. The value honestly feels insane especially comparing it to something like Black Ops 3 which costs about the same amount but only has a fraction of the amount of maps and weapons. Campaign and Zombies are a joke, forget about them. They bring down the entire experience and are the reason I don't recommend the game for a review because unfortunately 1/3 of a game being good isn't a thing you should recommend. Update 31/07/25: CoD HQ has been removed from MWIII and the game is now standalone in your Steam Library. This greatly increases the play-ability of the game and gives you proper Steam Input game specific layouts, specific forums, specific community hubs, etc etc. This is how the game should've launched from the get go but oh well, better late than never. However the game still uses a separate executable for the Campaign so you need to relaunch the game to load the Campaign. Sigh. Better than dealing with CoDHQ I suppose.
