Activision you absolutely SUCK and are worthless for keeping base COD games and their DLC's extremely overpriced even on sale. You are NOTHING!!! I'd rather buy $40 worth of honey buns, microwave them for 15 minutes, and throw them at the wall than give you an unnecessary amount of money to get the DLC's for the achievements.
With that being said, very fantastic game I'm sure you (Reader) and I have played when we were younger, and very enjoyable to revisit to play the Campaign and Special Ops 14 years later.

The game itself is amazing and is a top tier Call of Duty game.
However, I cannot recommend buying it because for some reason, it's still $40 in 2022, Eleven years after the game launched, and that's not even including the DLC which will run you another $50 or so.
If you can get the game + its DLC on sale for a decent price, then I'd recommend, but OMG Activision, LOWER THE DAMN PRICE
This game does not deserve to be $40 in 2022. I'm not saying it sucks, but 40 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars for a 10 year old game is stretching it. Wait for a sale. The multiplayer is mostly dead and you'll be stuck with the campaign and Spec Ops.
The campaign is a true classic and possibly one of the best in the series. The story continues from the previous games and reaches a thrilling climax.
The gameplay is pretty solid and the gun selection is pretty good. A must have for any FPS enjoyer, after it goes on sale.
.hackers can make your game crash whenever they want , if they only played with you once.

I own the game since 2013 and played it roughly for 400 hours from 2013-2023.
The game is fun and I would like to play it more but if you are planning to play it online read the following text before the purchase:
Recently I got back into the game after a long pause and spent 50 more hours in it.
During this time my rank has been reset for the first time and 7 more times in the days afterwards.
Thank god there is the "Unlock All-Tool" that at least gives you back your inventory.
So it's only a little inconvenient.
If you check the community threads you will here people complaing that there are players that use RCE on your computer.
I took it not as a serious threat but today some guy just opened 7 tabs of a German military song on YT at once and I don't know what else he did.
But my computer crashed immediately.
This has been the nail in the coffin for MW3 2011 for me.
It's not safe to run the game.
I never write a comments or rate anything. But this is a warning to every person that thinks about to buy this game. DON'T DO IT!
Right now (12.05.2024) it has still a price of 40€ on steam. The game is not safe to run, there is no more support from the developers and it's 13 years old and still sits at two thirds of it's release price from 2011. That's insane.

This and MW2 are among the more frustrating games to get running properly on modern hardware. I tried using DXVK, forcing the game to run in fullscreen windowed mode, and numerous other fixes, but ended up having to just put up with the stuttering and frame drops. There is no FOV slider, so you'll also have to download CoD SCZ FOV changer. The worst sin however, is that the multiplayer mode is broken and filled with hackers who use a P2P exploit to download viruses onto your computer. All it takes for your computer and personal information to be at risk is to simply join an online game with one of these hackers in the lobby. This game, and all older Call of Duty titles are all infected in this manner and it's highly recommended you download Alterware (Plutonium is not available for MW2) and use it to play multiplayer... which is all good and fine, but when you're still charging FULL PRICE for a 15 year old game, I expect it to be fully functional. Not only this, but Activision has not issued a warning regarding these exploits, meaning hundreds of users are unknowingly harming their computers due to corporate incompetence.

no goofy skins, no p2w goofy weapons, no sbmm, no controller players aim assist advantage, just pure fun from the golden age of call of duty. original mw3 is most probably the best mw ever made with one of the best maps (along with bo1 and bo2) in the entire cod series.
p.s.1 you can also use alternative clients like "plutonium" (mw3/waw/bo1/bo2) and/or "horizon mw" (cod4, mw2 and mw3 combined experience running on modern warfare remastered engine). and yes, you need to own the original games, I suggest to buy them on steam when they are on sale few times a year.
p.s.2 surprisingly game was recently patched on steam (september 2026).

Минусы:
-Плохие сервера для игры в мультиплее (лаги, выскоий пинг, дисконнекты)
-Много читеров в мультиплеере
-Высокая цена (на старте брал за 599 рублей, сейчас же игра стоит 1249рублей)
-Огромное количество бесполезных ДЛС с картами, в которые никто не играет

По моему мнению выставлять игру, выпущенную в 2011 году за 1249 рублей без ДЛС свинство. Кроме того, хотелось бы предупредить, что для некоторых пользователей поиск игр в мультиплеере может затянуться из-за такой штуки как NAT, которое оценивает ваше интернет-соединение. По мимо всего прочего, в данный момент трудно найти игроков для таких интересных режимов как "саботаж" и "найти и уничтожить" - все, в основном играют в КБ.

Разработкой триквела Modern Warfare занимались уже не Infinity Ward и это не пошло серии на пользу, к тому же планку повествования в Modern Warfare 2 задрали так высоко, что новые разработчики из Sledgehammer Games пытаясь переплюнуть коллег в плане грандиозности повествования даже не дотянулись до уровня оригинальной Modern Warfare.
Сюжет:
Повествование стартует ровно там где закончилась MW 2, Россия и США погрязли в войне друг с другом. Прайс и Соуп объявлены в международный розыск, а тем временем главный антагонист Макаров берёт в заложники президента России и его дочь.
Сюжет первых двух MW был пафосным и "клюквенным", но детально проработанным, отчего казался правдоподобным, хоть и с некоторыми оговорками. И если первые две MW по постановке можно сравнить с фильмом "Падение черного ястреба", то MW 3 - это очередной безликий боевик от Майкла Бэя, с кучей мельтешащих взрывов и рваным повествованием.
Геймплей:
Геймплей не поменялся, все тот же коридорный FPS, но он уже с более слабым уровнем постановки, разработчики увеличили масштабы действия, количество взрывов. От чего этот блокабатер не развлекает, а утомляет. Все те же кооперативные, без изменений, спецоперации. Ну и стандартный мультиплеер, у которого кстати был забавный live action trailer с Джоной Хиллом и Сэмом Уорингтоном в главных ролях.
Графика:
Устаревший движок выдает вполне достойную картинку.
Звук и саундтрек:
И если звуковые эффекты ещё вполне себе на уровне, то в этот раз саундтрек подкачал. После эпичных композиций Ханса Циммера в MW 2, композиции Брайана Тайлера в MW 3 звучат блекло.
Итог:
CoD MW 3 - это масштабный милитари боевик, способный увлечь разве что фанатов серии MW.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – это шутер от первого лица и является продолжением Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2. Данная игра последняя и заключительная в трилогии Modern Warfare.
Сюжет нам повествует о Третьей Мировой Войне, которую развязали Имран Захаев и Владимир Макаров. В данной части, мы будем охотиться на Макарова и его сообщников, ну и просто убивать всякую шушеру.
Плюсы игры:
+ Интересный сюжет, который нам раскроет детали прошлых частей;
+ Саундтрек, как обычно будет радовать хорошей музыкой;
+ В игре сделаны спецэффекты на высшем уровне, всю игру мы будем наблюдать: эпичные взрывы, разрушение зданий, невероятные трюки героев и ещё множество всего эпичного;
+ Мы побываем во многих уголках планеты, будем взрывать подводную лодку, спасть президента России, штурмовать замок и т.д.
+ Большой арсенал оружия;
+ Спецоперации, в которых мы будем со своим кооп напарником или в одиночку, проходить самые ответственные миссии;
+ Режим выживания, в котором игрок определённое количество волн, сдерживает ожесточённый натиск врага, при этом игроку даётся на выбор большой арсенал самого разнообразного оружия и современного оборудования для уничтожения врага;
+ Хорошая многопользовательская игра, в которую можно залипнуть на много часов, так как в нём содержится: прокачка персонажей, различные перки, улучшения, множество режимов игры, большое разнообразие карт и ещё много всего интересного.
Минусы игры:
- Коридорные сражения;
- Графика, как была старой, так и осталось таковой;
- Нестабильные сервера в сетевой игре и в кооперативных спецоперациях, постоянные лаги и вылеты;
- Просто море читаков в сетевой игре и никто с ними не борется;
- Бесполезные DLC, в которые никто не играет, ещё и имеют цену 650 рублей;
- За игру 1800 рублей, вы шутите?!
Вывод: выходя из всего этого, получилась такая же конвейерная Call of Duty, как и прошлые её предшественницы, с такими же минусами, не доработками и недочётами. Но всё же, в неё так же интересно играть, ведь это старая, добрая, чёрт побери, Call of Duty. Ставлю игре оценку 8,0 Прайсов из 10.
What the hell??? No controller support??? Admittedly, my brother bought this game and I'm playing it though family share, but I'm thoroughly disappointed. I just wanted to kick back and play MW3 on the couch like God intended, but no, I'm forced to sit at a desk or something. I don't care that controller is worse, I just wanted to relax and play the campaign, maybe some spec ops... is nothing sacred???
OG MW3 + Trilogy Where:

-Character + antagonist deaths were way better + actually good characters
-No "open combat" missions
-No Russian is better
-Multiplayer is actually fun and doesn't have sliding/double sprint
-SBMM wasn't as bad as newer titles
-Perfect Class system
-No Armoury unlocks
-Perfect UI
-Great performance and never crashes
-No Warzone or DMZ
-Plutonium Client
-Perfect Prestige system
-Maps were good and weren't recycled
-No Microtransactions + Everything was earned
-No operator system + No random celebrities in a match
-Has Spec ops instead of a terrible zombies mode that isn't even supposed to be in MW

No fictional stuff at all, I mean, Kastovia, Urzikstan, Adal, Las Almas Cartel, Al-Qatala... What is all that crap? That's not how you write a war game set in our "realistic" world. This franchise never needed an in-game Fictional stuff, this is why the OG's are cool. Saudi Arabia is Saudi Arabia, -iStan countries are the real -iStan countries, Russia is enemy #1.
Factions are still fictional but at least they're very specific about who is who, they didn't hesitate to be polemic. Back in the day it wasn't necessary to add women, and giving them a "leadership" role in a Muslim army, do you expect me to believe that? 4 real?
Just buy the game already, forget about multiplayer. Do you want an inmersive and challenging experience? Play this game in VETERAN and you will end with real PTSD!!!111!

Played this a lot on the Xbox 360 only for the gem that was the survival mode. The PC port is functional, but nothing noteworthy. This game came out during the era where PC ports were an afterthought.
After finishing the bombastic, popcorn campaign, MW3 has a multiplayer mode that is basically filled with hackers and excessive lag and a spec ops mode that allows for 2 player coop in missions + a survival mode.
Honestly, the only mode that got me coming back was the survival mode, a wave-based horde mode which was a derivative of other horde modes from games like Black Ops zombies, Halo firefight, Gears horde, etc. For what it is, it's pretty damn fun. 16 built in maps with varying difficulties. You get access to three armories that provide you weapons, perks, explosives, AI squads for aid, sentry turrets, airstrikes, etc. Waves past 25 start becoming more challenging since enemies start becoming bullet sponges and juggernauts and attack choppers start spawning more often.
For those small number of players who avidly enjoyed the survival mode, check out Trepang2. It's a FEAR inspired shooter that has a horde mode that feels like a true successor to MW3's survival mode. Faster and gory combat, better enemy AI, and more maps that are smaller and tighter. MW2019's survival was a huge letdown, especially for solo players.
This game is only worth if you wanna relive the nostalgic 7th gen console era and if you can find this game on sale with all its DLC. The game still being close to full price more than a decade later is criminal, but that's Activision for you.
Восьмая игра серии Call of Duty, продолжающая и завершающая сюжетную линию Modern Warfare. Именно в этой игре присутствует скандально известная миссия, где можно было безнаказанно убивать гражданских русских, что повлекло за собой бунт русскоговорящих геймеров. Как следствие: именно в русской версии миссию тупо вырезали, поэтому мне не довелось уничтожать братьев своих (к счастью... или к сожалению). Казалось бы... это же просто цифровые болванчики. То что можно было положить кучу гражданских в других миссиях - это ничего. То, что мы просто пачками уничтожали чернокожих вояк в Африке - это не расизм. А вдруг среди них геи были? Хотя почему бы и не пострелять в них? В общем - тупой бред.
Но я отвлёкся от сути - от игры. MW3 вышла в 2011ом году и очень-очень круто выглядит даже сегодня. Конечно мой калькулятор разогнал игру до 160 фпс на максимальных настройках графики, но игра действительно выглядит не дурно... во всяком случае нам не дают возможности поффтыкать в мыльные текстурки или стремные второстепенные объекты, т.к. напарники не пойдут без вас, они будут звать вас, вести в бой, указывать что делать (взрови двери, иди на лестницу, хватай товарища, возьми снайперку на крыше, воспользуйся этим, подойди туда, дыши, не дыши), иногда даже зачищать путь перед вами... всё что вам нужно - выполнять приказы, бежать и стрелять, иногда прибегая к укрытию, чтобы, как Росомаха, восстановиться и пойти в бой с новыми силами. Я вдруг внезапно вспомнил, за что же я так не любил серию CoD, и за что любил самую первую CoD. Да, в CoD1 были аптечки и баллы здоровья. Теперь это непозволительная роскошь. Это относится не только к MW3, но решил я это сообщить именно здесь, т.к. именно MW3 многие нахваливали, она была одной из самых ожидаемых игр в 2011ом.
Ну а что на деле? Мочи русских! Спасай русских! Играй русским! Снова мочи русских! Русские то, русские сё... Может быть это вторая причина того, почему я не любил серию. Политика. Политике в играх не место. Во всяком случае не "политике нашего времени". Пусть это будет вторая мировая, или "недалекое будущее", или же альтернативная реальность (привет, Wolfenstein). Но то, что происходит в CoD... мне не нравится. Нет, не оскорбляет, просто не нравится. Я считаю, это скучным.
Что касательно зрелищности - это лучшее, что есть в игре. Игра чeртoвски красива и разнообразна (насколько это возможно, относительно геймплея). Снега, пески, бури, корабли, вертушки, катера, джунгли, тут всего полно... но всё сводится к простой стрельбе в "коридорах", шаг в сторону - "расстрел"... впрочем, это же шутер? Ничего кардинально нового после MW2 игра не принесла в серию. Игра достойна прохождения, но сугубо в рамках серии (отдельно от MW1 и MW2 - бессмысленна, т.к. и без того банальный сюжет потеряет весь шарм).
P.S. Небольшой минус: пришлось качать 7 гигов русификатора, т.к. в Steam игра не поддерживает русский язык, хотя приобретал ритейл-версию. Странно.
UPD: Прошу прощения за дезинформацию!!! Миссия с уничтожением русских гражданских была вырезана из MW2, а не MW3, но и в этой серии нам предлагают "пропустить миссию, дабы не оскорбиться", где в финале катсцены убивают маленькую девочку в розовом... Сути это не меняет, т.к. вся серия MW1-2-3 была пройдена мной друг за другом и воспринимается как единое целое (так хоть игра представляет из себя 15-20 часов геймплея, в отличии от стандартных 5-6 часов на игру.)
