PROS + The campaign is far better than those of Gears 4 and 5 + One of the best visual showcases for Unreal Engine 5 + Gameplay changes add more depth to combat, since you can customize your weapons and gear + The story nails the portrayal of the Locust Horde's brutality and humanity's desperation in the face of this new enemy + The new weapons feel great to use + Bosses are tough and require strategy to defeat + The game now features open areas with secondary objectives and a map CONS - Solo play has some drawbacks, as the squad AI isn't as smart as it should be - There are some technical bugs that need fixing; one related to Frame Generation was patched today at launch - Open areas are much more demanding on performance than linear ones; I recommend enabling Frame Gen when playing in them Overall, it’s a great return for Gears, featuring its best campaign since the original trilogy, which, imo, is still better. I can't comment on multiplayer or Horde mode, as they were unavailable until today.

F and a moment of silence to my fellow brothers and sisters who could not make it to witness Gears of War's very own Halo Reach moment. We are officially witnessing the rebirth of a franchise we all thought was long gone. We are witnessing peak Gears of War returning to us after many long years and I am more than ready to grab my lancer and go plug up some grub holes! This is the feeling I haven't felt since Gears 3, and it actually feels surreal. Gears Devs, please bring Gears 2-4 and Judgement to Steam so I can complete my collection.

Nostalgia bait with a side of bait and switch. The new character "Carter" is the main character, not Marcus or Dom. She's constantly overshadowing them and saves them. Basically the typical girl boss as most modern games have. Also, why do all the women looks trans? I'm so tired of every AAA western game does this.

Everyone take silence for all our fallen COG brothers and sisters that won’t get to experience this gem... The feeling I haven't felt since Gears of War 3 feels actually surreal.. impossible. WE ARE SO BACK. And they went back to "Gears of War" rather than just "Gears" too. This is Gears of War's very own Halo Reach moment. With 14 years set between E-day and the original game, there's so much lore this story can tell. Also, Microsoft, please bring the OG Trilogy to PC. It's been long enough and not all of us still play on consoles anymore.

The vibes/gameplay and graphics are all top tier, they actually cooked with this one. They optimized the heck out of this from the beta, runs great on Steam Machine now at 1440p with FSR4

The trailers made this look like some badass OG Gears of War shooter, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the dei in this game is insane. Every woman is a she boss clearly written as some forced power fantasy. I have no issue with woman in games, but its so overly done here. Just give me the damn OG Gears Dynamic without every important leader and character being a le hecking super boss.

If you're having problems getting your Premium Edition Rewards, look no further here is the fix. Step 1: Load Your game Step 2: Open up the Store Menu Step 3: Select, Premium Edition and hit buy. This will open the steam store page. Step 4: Close the steam store page and boom, all your rewards will pop up

Wanted to like this so badly, been with Gears since 2006. The game just runs so poorly, character models not loading, the audio is awful and it just feels half baked. I'd love to experience it on a console which surely runs better? Idk what the hell has gone on but this just feels awful and I hate saying that

This game is being flooded with bots and paid feedback to hide the review bombing this game deserves. some accounts with .4 hours in the game and writing a review on how amazing it is. the game is awful. movement feels clunky, TTK is here and there, audio is literally like playing in a trash can. i can hear Dom from across the map when it sounds like he is right behind me. Its either footsteps that don't exist and I'm shot gunned in the face OR sound like they are right behind me yet no one is there. In game its borderline indistinguishable who is a cog and who is a locust half the time. everyone looks the same, literally. Do not even get me started on the campaign. In a game who has always been known for incredible campaigns and amazing storylines......what the hell is this. ignore the game crashes in a campaign mode, but missing characters on the helicopter, T posing NPCs, aura farming aunties waltzing down a block of locusts.....constant cutscenes with so much drama involved.... and just awful........awful character development. Charging 100$ for this is tragic. Another giant has fallen, so long to the days of some of the great game developing companies dying to greed and providing unfinished and rushed product. Gears 2 is 20 years old and is far more advanced than this.

Horrible optimization. Must be the Locust EMP attack on E-Day. Beefy system, still crawling at 60 FPS? Hitches and stutters every time a Drone blinks. Unacceptable.

I'm so tired of this trend, where the new games have to have a DEI insert character no one cares about, that's there either to be black, woman or a homosexual... literally for no other reason, because who needs other reasons right? In this case they literally ticked all the boxes. No one cares about some new character's backstory, we're here for Marcus, Dom, Tai, some cool dark atmosphere mixed with rough jokes and good action. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYBODY'S SEXUALITY IN AN ACTION, BRUTAL VIDEOGAME ABOUT THE END-TIMES!!! It's literally everywhere now.

Very poorly optimized, i have a rtx 5090 and this game barely reaches high FPS on performance mode, not even 120hz. Still a lot of bugs on it. Its a shame, I was very excited for this game after I played the beta, but PvP is also unoptimized.
